Dragging my hands to my face, I wiped my lips with the book of my elbow as I glared at him. Anger rushed through me like a waterfall, but nothing like the hurricane within my own heart. The air between us was tense, and if anyone reached out and sliced the air with a knife, it'd actually cut. James stood, his gaze locked on me with a half-smile, half-possessiveness. I loathed that expression. Like he already knew what I was going to do. No matter how I tried, I'd always land exactly where he wanted me to be. I swallowed, but his flavor was still on my lips.
