Jaiyana bid goodbye to the boy who she had just escorted out of the health bay.
His head was bandaged, and he held a pack of ice, placing it on his bleeding and swollen nose.
“I guess this counts as an eventful first day” Jaiyana breathed out, blinking at Casper.
The boy whose face was still aching from the beatings he had received from the boys felt his heart flutter at the sight of the beautiful girl before him.
“Yeah …thank you for helping me, they would have killed me there if not for your help” Casper said gratefully, a faint blush on his cheeks.
Jaiyana shook her head. I don't really think they would. I bet they haven't even seen blood before” Jaiyana laughed, waving her hands.
Casper shook his head, his savior was a human, and she probably didn't know how brutal and bloodthirsty the supernatural world was.
He had chosen this life the day he had agreed to listen to Alpha Drake's orders to spy on his heir.
He had heard things about Viktor and how ruthless he was, but he still had to do it because of the money attached to it.
He thought he would be safe for some time. He didn't know that Viktor's set of goons, who usually looked daft and stupid, were able to sniff him out quickly.
“Hey, hope they didn't damage your vocal cords too,” Casper heard Jaiyana say.
“No they didn't, I was just lost in thoughts” Casper said with a smile.
“That's good, I thought that I was too late in saving you,” Jaiyana remarked.
He laughed at her statement before turning to her. “To be really sincere, thanks for today, let me repay you by taking you to the girls' hostel. I can see that you are a new student and probably still don't know your way around, Casper offered cheerfully.
Jaiyana shook her head, “no need for that, you need to go rest just like the nurse said, and besides, I already know my way around here considering the fact that I have this with me” Jaiyana said, showing him the well detailed cartoon map.
“That's cute” Casper said, bursting into laughter, but the pain from his swollen nose made him wince when he pulled at the wounds, “were you the one that made it?” He asked.
“Nope, the school gave it to me. I was quite surprised when I received this in my mailbox”, Jaiyana said.
“Wow, I envy you so much. When I resumed last year, I never got to have this, and I had to manage myself. You need to see the way I was roaming around the school like a blind pig,” Casper said.
Jaiyana burst into laughter before beaming at him and stretching out her hands “I'm Jaiyana Andrews and you”
Casper took her hands into his and shook them firmly. “I'm Casper Luther, nice to meet you.”

Jaiyana walked into the female hostel. It was a large, magnificent building that had countless balconies and flower pots peeking out of the balcony.
Jaiyana looked at the map and found out that she was at the right place.
The map told her that her hostel was number 101.
Jaiyana walked through the number of corridors, climbing flights of stairs just to locate her room number.
When she finally arrived at the right door, she was panting and sweaty, thanking God that she didn't have to go through all this torture with her luggage.
Jaiyana rang the doorbell on the door for some minutes, but it wasn't answered. She rang the doorbell again but yet no response.
“Can you please just open the door and get in? There's a fingerprint scanner on the door and everyone knows that!” A voice yelled, making Jaiyana flench.
It was a beautiful pink-haired girl wearing a pink and white striped shirt and white bralette, she leaned on the door of her hostel which was opposite Jaiyana's, looking like she had just woken up from a deep sleep.
Jaiyana was offended by her rude tone, so she responded
“Well it's not my fault that I'm new, and the school decided it was fun not to debrief me about this.”
The girl sighed and leaned up from the door post before walking towards the door.
She grasped Jaiyana's hand and jerked it towards a strange-looking round button.
She put Jaiyana's thumb on it and the button lit up green immediately and with a click, the door of the room opened.
She pushed the door and widened her two arms with a sea gesture.
“I'm Alexandra, but everyone calls me Alexa or Lexa for short, and sorry for being rude”, the girl said, holding her head with a wince. “It's just that there was a hell of a party yesterday, I had so much to drink and was still hungover,” Alexa said.
Jaiyana nodded, understanding, agreeing that being hungover was not a good thing, but she knew that she hadn't experienced that feeling before, and she didn't want to.
“I'm Jaiyana, nice to meet you, and sorry for replying that way. I mean climbing long flights of stairs just to locate my hostel was quite exhilarating for me”, Jaiyana replied warmly.
Alexa burst into laughter “You mean you climbed the whole flight of stairs? Didn't you see the elevators?” She asked, choking in between fits of choking laughter.
Jaiyana stared at her with lips agape “What did you just say? Elevators? I didn't think school hostels had one too?” she asked in surprise.
“Of course, we have it here at Salvatore or do you think Salvatore is like other old-fashioned schools? Salvatore is crème de la crème, modernized, and they follow-up trends”, Alexa gushed.
Jaiyana invited Alexa into the room. She liked this girl that she had just met.
The structure of the room gave Jaiyana another shock.
The hostel…no, let's call it the apartment because that's exactly what it was.
With a sitting room, a kitchen, two rooms, a bathroom and toilet for each room, a mini study and library and even a laundry room.
There was also a balcony that led to the sitting room, where the occupants could stand, relax, enjoy and look at the school environment.
All in all, it was dreamy and unexpected.
“I know that look on your face, I have seen that look on countless people's faces when they first saw their hostel. Now you see reasons why Salvatore only accepts 100 per year? All these facilities are for those who have worked hard to gain admission”, Alexa said proudly .
“Why do you sound so proud, like the school belongs to you?” Jaiyana asked with raised brows.
“Of course yes, it belongs to my parents!”
