He blinked, looking a little surprised at her request…a surprise that quickly morphed into dawning comprehension. “Sure, sweetheart. You know where it is?” “Down the hall, I think.” Rosemary handed him her glass and gave him a feather-light kiss on the cheek, not heavy enough to leave any of her lipstick on his skin. “I’ll be back in a jif.” She turned away and headed toward the powder room, heart pounding even though she tried to reassure herself that this was all going to be fine, that no one had noticed either one of them yet.
