Looking For My Emily

The tragedy continues...

CHAPTER TWO

My Mom rushed out to the living room to see what was happening, 'Mom, it's happening

What's happening? She asked,

'My dream of becoming a newscaster is about to come to reality'.

My Mom was happy that this is just a step toward my dream coming through.

My Mom has been supportive and encouraged me most times I came back from auditions disappointed or not called up that I should not feel rejected or not up to the task that better opportunities are coming ahead.

'Which Station is Organising the Audition? ' 'Mom made further inquiries,

'It's Medieval Broadcasting Station', I replied, She kept mute for seconds and I sensed she remembers Dad, I had to stand from the sofa as she was standing beside me to give her a warm hug and whispered to her,

'I will make you proud Mom, I and Fred will feel his gap for you, as I rubbed her back softly with my hands.

After that moment I quickly resolved to my Google Drive on my PC and forward my documents to the Station website to secure my slot as an applicant since there are limited slots for applicants.

'Application Submitted successfully!', the message popped up after uploading the required documents and information at the websites.

I was happy doing this after I finished uploading the document, Fred and Anthony, My childhood friend came in together as they were both laughing and having a discussion,

'What were you both discussing? You are gossiping about me?' I asked them,

They both looked in my direction, looked at each other, and burst into laughter,

'I think I'm missing something here, someone should speak out, I yelled at them.

Fred whispered something to Anthony's ear and they both giggled at me, I became weird and chased Fred from the Living room and he find his way into the kitchen where Mom was.

'Good Morning Mom' Anthony greeted my Mom, 'oh! Anthony, How are you? How are Dad and Mom? 'They are doing well' he responded as he move towards where I'm sitting.

'How are you gal?' he used his shoulder to hit my shoulder by the side, I did not retaliate as I was busy packing up my PC on the stand.

Anthony has been a very good friend of mine from childhood till we graduated from the institution, He always lit the atmosphere when around, He knows when I have mood swings or am depressed, one can't be moody anytime he is around and there's nothing we don't share, actually he's my secret keeper, Smiles... He is currently working as a dispatch driver for a company in North Angelos.

'You and your Emily every time he whispered, 'What are you up to on your PC?' 'I saw an audition on the news this morning at Medieval Broadcasting Stations so I applied for it because the audition will take place on Monday by 8:00 am' I replied,

'That's a good one 'How will you keep up and bit the traffic as you know the traffic is always hectic on Monday Morning so you won't get late for the audition',

'oh! My thoughts were not thinking in that direction

'What should I do?' I asked Anthony, I think there is a hotel close to the Broadcasting Station, so you can lodge at the hotel till the next day for the audition' he said, I think that's a better idea for you Anthony, My brainiac as we both laugh it.

As we both continue in our discussion Mom had to call us to the dining table and dish the food to everyone. So I told Mom I will be lodging in a hotel closer to the broadcasting station so I can be at the Station for the Audition as early as possible and She agreed.

After Breakfast I had to see Anthony off cos he needed to deliver a package to a particular location, he only branch at our house just to say hi, I walked him outside where he packed the company's Van for delivery and promised to come to pick me up to take me to the hotel the following day, So he entered the van. and drove off...

The following day I woke up late cos I had to rehearse my script several times to be presented at the Audition overnight with Fred as he always has been my audience, and I already packed some clothes inside my bag with my PC fully charged. I was having some fresh air on the balcony of the house when my phone rang and I recognized it was the 'Big head' Anthony,

'Hello gal' 'I will come and pick you up very soon, so get ready', he said 'Okay, I will be expecting you' I replied and we end the call.

I had to go in and dress up in my beautiful armless gown which is blue as I have a fair complexion with short braided hair and bluish eyeballs. Mom was resting in her room and Fred was playing ball with his friends in the garden beside the house, I carried my bag with Emily and walked into Mom's room to say Goodbye to her,

'Hi, Mom, I will soon be leaving, Anthony called me that he will soon be here, Mom had to stand up from the bed and gave me a warming hug, as I was still in her arms I heard the horn of Anthony's Van, Immediately Mom had to let go of me,

'My baby, I wish you Good luck,' 'Thanks Mom' I was replying while walking towards the Van outside and she followed me to see me off into the Van.

'Mom, Try to have enough rest today and take your drugs okay?' 'I will' My Mom responded, She has not been feeling too well due to the stress from her grocery store. Fred came to meet me and said 'Allan Black' I wish you the best, Anthony laughed as he made the statement, but I had to just overlook them both and told Fred to take care of Mom cos I will be back the following day. As Anthony start the vehicle I waved Mom and Fred Goodbye with a Blown kiss in the air.

We got to the hotel around 5:00 pm that evening, I alighted from the Van with my bag and carried Emily in my arm, Anthony encouraged me and wish me good luck as he depart went on his way.

I walked in into the hotel towards the reception to book a room apartment so on getting close to the counter,

'Wonderful Evening to you, You are welcome to Galaxy and Bar Hotel', 'How may I help you?' 'Wow, your pet looks nice'

The female receptionist said',

I smile, 'Thank you, 'I will need a one-room apartment overnight',

I bade as I dropped Emily beside me to bring out my card for payment, it took me time before I could find my card, so I extend the card to the receptionist to deduct the charges for the room, after waiting for the processes I noticed I did not hear the sound of Emily, Instantly I came to realize her absence, I looked around the reception I couldn't find her, I looked so disturbed, The receptionist noticed me because she tried to give back my card to me but she realized I was not reacting,

'Why are you disturbed? Your face shows it all, She asked,

'I'm looking for my Emily',

'Emily?' Yes, 'My Emily' I meant 'My Pet' I can't find her around, 'Oh! Your pet' She lamented, She called the attention of the security, but before she finished with the security guard, I had to search myself, I climbed the stairs to check out the long corridor leading to the rooms, and as I was searching I kept asking a few people I could but no positive answer. A thought just came through my mind as I stand still that I should go toward the bar but I felt she shouldn't have gone too far.

After the thought came I eventually give in to checking the bar area at the hotel, as I entered the bar arena, I unconsciously bumped and hit myself hard into what my eyes and heart could not resist.
