Looking For My Emily

I found a new Emily..

CHAPTER THREE

I got stuck when I bumped into a guy carrying a bottle of champagne and glass in his hands, I never saw him coming, due to the much spotlight entering through my glasses, till we have a body clash, Immediately I hit him I almost slumped but I felt a hand grab me by my waist and I heard the sound of glass Shattering on the floor, I realize I was in the arm of a guy with, big and muscular arms, looking at the face, I saw this charming and good looking face with a clean cut, looking so Smart and promising, for some seconds I couldn't feel my breath for the amazing sight has caught my attention and I can't talk about how I felt but there's something more about this guy that I can't deny my emotion is responding to. 'Who is this guy?' I said in my heart.

I tried to get myself from his arms, so he helped me up. Standing before him, I saw the glass that got broken on the floor,

'I'm sorry' I apologized to him for bumping into him unconsciously. He smiled and said,

'Hope you are not hurt?' he tried to check my hands only to see a small cut on my right hand but not too deep, and I can see the compassion in his eyes.

'I'm fine, don't worry, it's just a small cut, it's not too deep' I answered him, I tried to bend down to pick up the broken glass and he grab my hand so that the waitress will come and clean it up, that I need to pay attention to my wound. He beckons at a waitress from a distance to explain what happened and demanded the price for the broken glass cup for a replacement to the hotel management and ordered a new cup of glass as he was holding the champagne bottle with his left hand.

'Hi, pretty, My name is Mich, and I just came to North Angelos today, Although I reside in California, I had come to the city to sort out some business stuff

'Would you mind telling me your name?'

'I'm Sydney' I replied as I managed to answer him and he asked if I'm kinda disturbed by the look on my face,

'I've been looking for Emily for some minutes now and we both stand at the reception to book a room',

'Sorry, who is Emily? Mich asked'

'My Pet dog', he then smiled and I stare at him and think in my heart that,

'Maybe he doesn't know how special my pet was, My Dad bought her for me as a birthday present before his demise that's why I named him after him'.

'Oh, I meant no harm but I have good news, I became lively as he mentioned that,

'Look over there, he pointed to a table at the corner of the bar,

'Oh, There she was, I saw Emily in a guy's arm, I quickly ran in the direction to carry her, leaving Mich behind as he was also approaching the same direction.

'There you are, I've been searching for you all over the place but couldn't find you, as I got in front of a Short fat guy, he stared at me and smile, as I extend my arms to Emily to come to Mama. I grab her and rubbed her, 'Momma has been troubled searching for you Emily, as both Mich and his Friend Laughed at me the way I was talking to my pet.

'Sydney, you are kinda funny', 'Meet Jeremy, My old time friend' Mich Said, Jeremy was the fat guy who carried Emily in his arms. 'Sorry you had to go through that stress of looking for her, I just found her walking around the corridor, I guess she lost her way, so I had to carry her, hoping the owner will look for her and here you are He Smiled

'Thanks for that I said as we exchange pleasantries'

'What are you doing here? Mich questioned,

'I need to catch up with something urgent tomorrow morning I had to lodge in this hotel to beat the traffic and not to get late'

'Wow, that's brilliant' Mich responded.

I think I need to take my leave, as I was about to go, Mich extended his Contact card to me and I went back to the reception, sort out my room booking, and collect the key to my room.

MICH

I lived and also schooled in California from age 5 with my Mom, Mrs Robert Lance and she is a Nurse in the State Hospital but my Dad Dr. Robert Nikks had to come over to North Angelos to oversee his Company, Medevial Broadcasting Station. Often we speak with him on the phone or he came around to spend a little time with us before coming to North Angelos.

I never get used to my Dad like my Mom. While growing up I love playing basketball, even while in high school I was part of the best six in my school. So basketball is part of me and let me say my dream, but I have a setback while pursuing my dream of becoming a superstar in basketball, 'My Dad' He never liked seeing me play basketball and he had to force me to study Mass Communication Science in United University, One Of the top five University in California just to see me take charge of his company he had to make me further my master in the field.

I saw my Dad spurring me up for his desire but he never asked what I want so I see him as a barricade withstanding my dream. But what can I do? Nothing, Absolutely nothing, My Mom had to convince me to oblige with his request. After My master's degree, he summoned me that the time is setting in for me to get to know the system of operation in the company.

I had to call a friend of mine who reside in California but now relocated to North Angelos. Jeremy, 'My Fat Buddy' as I do call him, to inform him of my arrival to North Angelos to secure a hotel for me to lodge before proceeding to my Dad's Apartment.

On getting to the airport at North Angelos, I put a call through to Jeremy to pick me up, so he came and picked me up. He had done the necessary payment at the hotel. We got to the hotel and after minutes of rest, we went into the bar to pop champagne and dine together.

On our way down the staircase leading to the corridor of the rooms, Jeremy saw a white pet dog looking lost, he hewed him by his side as we walked in into the bar and he went to secure a table for us while I moved towards the barman and ordered for a bottle of champagne with two cups of glasses, The barman passed the bottle of champagne and the glass cups to me, I took the champagne and glass of cup in my both hands.

Suddenly, a lady stumbled on me which made the glass cups on my right hand fell, and she was about to slip off that I had to grab her not to fall on the broken glass lying on the ground. Then I saw this lady in a blue armless dress resting in my arms, she has a pointed nose with a round face and her eyeballs glittering which grasp my heart, At First I wondered at her beautiful sight, she was so smart, looking enchanting, and her beauty is irresistible. My heart got gleaned to her at first sight, She looks so prime and innocent, but looking into her eyes I can't resist the beautiful sight I'm beholding. She felt lost and afraid which I can see in her eyes. I quickly raised her to her feet so I won't create any scene in the bar.

She looked so disturbed and carried away, 'Hope you are not wounded'? I asked, I tried to verify by checking her hands and took her away from the broken glass, 'It's Just a little cut, not so deep' 'I'm so sorry, I was carried away' She expressed, She tried to pick up the broken glasses but I pulled her up by the hand and called out of one the waiter to pack the broken glass and I made a request for new one, also I gave the waiter my card to foot the bill for the broken glass cup.

'Take this card and debit the amount for the broken glass' as I point the card to him.

I began more conversation with her by introducing myself to her, and she made me realize she was lodging in the hotel because she had something to catch up with the next morning.

Afterward "I came with Emily and I can't find her", she said and I wondered who's Emily. 'My pet dog', She answered, at that moment I knew she was the owner of the pet dog wandering about that Jeremy carried the other time when coming down from the room below the stairs, I smiled and she wore this angry face, 'sorry I smiled, It's just that your Emily misses it owner and by now she has a new owner as I point to where Jeremy is sitting with the pet dog in his arms, she looked straight to the direction and smiled, then realized she has a dimple by her cheek and her smiles is indeed captivating.

She quickly dashed to where Jeremy was sitting, I walked alongside to take a seat reserved for me by Jeremy.

'Thank you so much, I have been looking for her as she took Emily from Jeremy',

'Meet Jeremy, My gee from California but resides here in North Angelos' and Jeremy 'This is Sydney, My new friend who was in search of her pet' I introduced them to each other as they exchange pleasantries and afterward she said she need to go before she goes I extended my contact card to her for communication and wave bye to her.

SYDNEY

I find my way back to the reception to meet the receptionist.

'Wow, you found her?' She asked, 'Yes I do' Thanks. She told me she already asked security to go in search of her but he couldn't find her. But, alas you did.

'Can I have the access card to my room?'

'Yes, It's ready, You can have it, room number 304' as she extends the access card to me.

I walked up through the staircase glancing through the doorposts of each room to check for my room number. The corridor of the rooms is very long starting from the end of where I'm standing, I had to keep walking as the room are facing each other, I took like 30 steps before locating the room.

'Oh! There it was as I walk towards the room and used the access card on the door and entered the room.

I was exhausted as I entered, I place Emily on the bed and dropped my bag on the wardrobe beside the bed.

'Emily, you made me go through stress this evening but you made me find another Emily, Mich, I'm having deep affection towards him in my heart, and the thought of how I was in his arms came through my mind again, This guy captivates my heart and the feelings towards him is getting deeper. I was still on the bed when my phone rang from inside the bag, I dragged towards the side of the bed to pick up the call, only to find out that it was Mom, 'Oh, Mom' I said, she would have been worried, I picked up and explain what has happened that had not allowed me to put a call through to her as she was worried.
