We are barely through the hallways when we hear noise coming from ahead. I begin running faster.
Allison is faster than me, though. She stops at the door of Landon’s room, her expression scarily blank.
Jake and I look into the room at the same time. The rogue girl from before is on the floor, knocked out. Standing above her is Ashley, dressed in a nurse outfit and holding a needle.
“I am not sure what they teach you where you come from,” She says, tidying up her clothes as she faces all of us, “but here we like to keep our hostile hostages away from our patients.”
Allison rushes forward to hug her. “Thank you.”
Ashley looks surprised, but she returns the embrace. “It’s my job to look after patients.”
“Thank you anyway.”
