LACIE POV:
The sun shines through the crack in the blinds. It's in just the right spot to warm my cheek, waking me up. I slowly blink my eyes as I hear the birds chirping and the trees rustling in a soft breeze. I see dust particles dance in the slice of sunshine squeezing past the blinds. I move my hand and watch as they move faster and part where my hand was. As if mesmerized I glance at my hand that’s now in the stream of light, noticing all the small scars and imperfections, but also realizing my sore bloody fingernails aren’t sore and bloody from my chewing. I check my other hand and it’s the same, they both look smoothly manicured, the cuticles laying perfectly. Huh, must be the fast healing for ya. I lay my hands down, running them slowly over the fabric, taking in all the sensat
