Preparations

After leaving the castle Harley and I went back to the safe house so see how the set up was going. Once we got there I took a walk around to make sure the camera’s, the trip beams, and alarms were set to where and how I wanted them. I was happy with everything I had checked and double-checked. To make things more difficult in case they were found here, I made sure everything was set up on different servers which means if someone did hack us they would need several computers with techs that were better hackers than I was. And yes, there were some out there so I know it is possible, but why make it easy for them.. If they can get through everything they get my props for sure… but even if they get passed all my traps the last would totally f**k their systems...

Everyone was in the training room talking and getting to know each other as they squared up to fight, relaxing or just working out. I peeked in on them as I continued on my way to the medical room where Kayleigh and Kkul were. I wanted to see how Kayleigh was if she was ok after the move and all. As I made my way there, there was a tap on my shoulder as I turned around there was Evan standing there looking down, as he looked to the ground and rubbed the back of his neck, he said, “Hey, umm Lita… I want to apologize to you for how I acted towards you though I wish I had an explanation for my behavior sadly I have none, I guess I am an asshole but I never meant any harm towards you, I guess I just wanted your attention and felt I needed it for some reason. I wish I knew who you are though I know you are above me in the ranks of assassins, I don’t know why or who you are, though I guess in this line of work it is better that way. But in any case, I am sorry and you have not only my full abilities but my loyalty as well.” I just looked at him and smiled before I responded to him, “Look, Evan, I thank you for your honesty and loyalties, now if this is how you acted when we first met things may have been better between us, as of right now based on the actions I cannot fully trust you, but thanks to this talk I am willing to give you that chance, let's work together to save lives as it's not just the lives of this family but every supernatural out there… they need our best. Ok?” he smiled and nodded “thanks Lita, for giving me a chance, I won't let you down.” his face beamed with a light of determination before he turned and went back to the training room.

Once I got to the Medical room, I noticed Kkul and Kayleigh weren’t there I started looking around, but they were nowhere to be found, I even checked the attic just in case though I couldn’t think of any reason they would be there, as I started to panic and run down the stairs about to head to the training room to ask the other, but the front door opened and in walked Kkul and Kayleigh, as soon as Kayleigh laid her eyes on me she started to jump around yipping with excitement as she made her way to me she jumped on me knocking me down and licking my face. I couldn’t help but laugh at her silly antics, as I pet her and laughed, I squeaked out “ I am glad to see you feeling better.” Kkul walked over to us and squatted down petting Kayleigh as she continued to lick me, “ Aye, She is a strong one, it also surprised me how fast she recovered, there is no way this lovely lass is an Omega I feel there is more than meets the eye with her.” she smiled as she walked away. I pushed Kayleigh off as I sat up looking at her with a smile, she sat back on her haunches, watching me, with her head slightly tilted to the side. “ I have Diamond coming soon, she may be able to help us with our little communication issue. That is if you are up to it.” I asked her. She just Nodded her head still staring at me as if waiting for something. “ Look Kayleigh I know I helped you and all but you are free to do as you wish, you are no pet, and you are no slave. Please you are a friend and this house is as much yours as it is mine, please be at ease and do as you wish.” she just looks at me and tilts her head to the opposite side then turns to the door and then back to me then down to her paws. As if she was saying really? How do you suppose I open a door?? I laughed a little and thought ahead before moving everyone here and had a nifty little feature added to the house.. “ I smiled at her as I said follow me, I will show you.” I brought her to the front door pointing to a spot on the floor near the door a few feet away really, just in front of it was a raised square with a paw print on it, there was the same outside as well as every door in the house, as I thought it would be a little degrading for such a beautiful creature to have to use a doggy door. “ This square will open any door that closes in or around this house, allowing you access everywhere. All we have to do is program your paw print and weight of the pressure plate.” I walked over to an access panel in the wall opening it, I push a few buttons, “Go ahead and step on the plate” she did as I asked and didn’t move till I said it was ok. After we were finished, I told her it was so that no other wolf or animal for that matter could enter I noticed she was pawing at some small holes in front of the plate, I walked over to her kneeling down, these are security measures every week we will re-due the pass code in case of weight fluctuation. You see, if heaven forbid anything were to happen to any of us no one can use us to gain entrance, for you if your print is accepted then it's shifted to weight as a confirmation, if it's not your weight than a gas of Wolfsbane and Silver will be released through these little holes, it's a deadly dose so no one can get in.” she looks at me and nodded her head in understanding. I smile at her and tell her it was the best I could come up with and told her how I felt it would be demeaning to her to have to use a doggie door and how it also wasn’t very smart security-wise. Without having to put a collar on her as well... And I couldn’t do that to her. She let out the cutest little Wolfy laugh/grunt as she listened to me. “Anyway, go ahead and see how it works to see if there needs to be a time adjustment on it.” she lifted her paw hesitantly as she looked up at me. “ I smile don’t worry, I am right here if anything happens, you will be fine, I am also going to put your bark and growl patterns as well so if you need to get out fast. Also, the trap won't be set unless it's night and everyone is in bed or gone. So you won't have to worry about being sprayed.” she nodded once again and stepped on the plate and the door sprung open and stayed open for about 10.5 seconds. More than enough time for her to get safely through. We were both happy with the outcome. Kayleigh jumped around the living room with excitement as well as playing with the door for about 20 min. I laughed as I watched her enjoy herself.

After she calmed down I went to check on the rooms for our guests who would soon be arriving. Happy with everything we sat in my room and watched a movie together, Kayleigh would be sharing a room with me, she even has her own little memory foam twin bed complete with pillows and blankets. But right now we are on my bed just chilling. We are watching You’re Beautiful while we wait for Diamond. Halfway through season 1 ep 5, she finally shows up.

We all go down to the meeting room in the basement next to the training room, which is also going to be used as a safe room, from the hallway it just looks like a plain white tiled wall, across from the training room, but as soon as I or one of the other members of my team touch anywhere on the wall it opens revealing a high tech soundproof room even to werewolves they would never hear anything in this room even from outside. Once everyone is in we discuss the plan for the accident, everyone's job to pull it off, as well as a way to switch me and the king without anyone knowing not even his Beta. The King, gave me all the information on his beta even the secrets of them that only he knew. In case they were to get suspicious and asked some strange questions with an answer only he would know.. Diamond also informed me that as far as his scent, and looks, she could do it, however, his wolf had been a completely different issue since the wolf within was an actual creature, as proven with the presence of Kayleigh he has his own thoughts, feelings, personality and so on, so she would not be able to copy it as she would for a person, and even if she could it would do me no use since I am not a shifter. Or so she thinks. I know I have never been able to shifted since before that night... So I know I can shift, it's just only Harley and meself who know it.

“Lita, I am not sure If I can, but we can try.” Zin-sue says to me “ I am curious as well to see what we are capable of.” she says as an afterthought. “ Zin-sue? How can we do this without letting anyone what I am aside from Harley, can we trust anyone else? I mean, what would they do if they knew?” she lets out a soft laugh as she says “Simple my child, there are only 3 we need to trust. Our mate, Kayleigh and finally our King. There is no need for anyone else to know.” I mentally nod in agreeance to her. After all of our plans are in motion to start in 2 days' time, everyone leaves the room leaving myself Diamond and Kayleigh. Diamond looks to Kayleigh with a kind smile before she says “Kayleigh I have a way to open communication between you and Lita if you are willing. However, Lita also needs to agree as this does change a lot..” I look at Diamond with pure confusion, wondering what she is thinking as my arms crossed and my eyebrow raised she chuckles and says “ok ,ok, Lita you have to become an Alpha and for that, you need a pack, but luckily a pack can only be 2 people so what do you say?” I sit there thinking about it I mean how can I be an alpha how do I have any right to command anyone? Plus, when this is all over, how can I force Kayleigh to follow me? This is her home, I have no right to make her leave.

“ Well, there is one other choice but I am not sure Kayleigh will be willing. And that is to find her another host. But that would mean putting you back into another human subconscious and the human also has to agree, but that could take a lot of time..” Kayleigh walks over to me and nudges my hand with her snout I look down at her as she looks up at me with expectant eyes. “Kayleigh, I can not be your Alpha, I am no different than you who am I to take your choices away? When I leave, you would have to follow, but this is your home.” she sees the pain in my eyes as I speak to her, she knows I would never force her to do anything and I think that is why she growled at me. Diamond laughs you can't take her choices away and yet you just did, Lita, Kayleigh wants to be with you, she dedicated her life to you the moment you saved her from the useless piece of…….” ah hum… She cleared her throat before she continued. “Anyway, she has already pledged her loyalty to you the only thing you really need is to accept it and open you're bonding through your blood.” I look down at Kayleigh, “Are you sure this is what you want?” she nods her head and places her paw on my thigh. “Ok... But no one can know this is between us ok… I don’t think I could deal with anyone pledging their loyalty to me…. Diamond hands me a small silver dagger I cut the tip of my finger and Kayleigh bit her paw dripping out blood into a bowl once it is mixed I take a sip than Kayleigh laps the rest up after a moment I feel a bond growing inside and a slight headache from another person entering my mind.

“Thank you so much, Alpha Lita, I will never forget what you have done for me or given me, I have never been shown such respect from anyone. My loyalty will always be yours, My life is yours, I will do all I can to protect and keep you safe, it's the least I could do… “ I bent down and hugged her tightly. “ You are an Amazing friend even if we hadn't known each other long, but please call me Lita, I am not your Alpha we are equals and I would never ever command you. You are my friend I only agreed to this so we could speak nothing more, nothing less..” I smiled at her as she giggles in my head. “Ok Lita, thank you.”

With that, we went our own ways. I went looking for Harley as I missed his presence all day I am not even sure as to where he is, I haven’t seen nor heard from him since we left the castle. He said he had something to do and would be back later, but still, he is not here..”Zin-sue, can you reach his wolf?” “No, his walls are up, but I don’t sense anything bad, I think he just wants some private time.”

I nod mentally thinking that a lot has happened and he hasn’t really had time to come to terms with things. I agree that maybe he just needs some alone time to work things out, after all finding your mate, then finding out their secret, seeing the things I have done first hand and now me putting my life on the line to save his family, maybe just coming to terms with having a family again mixed with all of this, everyone he cares about is in danger and let's face it when this is over he will lose something. And I have a feeling it will be a loss that will do more than wound him...
