Freya’s POV Ezren made a beeline for the giant trees and began climbing the roots. I rest a hand on my wolf, trying to calm her. “It’s okay. I promise. I will figure this out.” I scratched her behind the ear. She whimpered and lay back down. I ran as fast as I could and was hot on Ezren’s heels. When I reached the tree line, Ezren was nowhere to be seen. I called, “Ezren, what are you doing?” In the distance, I heard his call. “Go home, Freya.” “I can’t go until your wolf wakes up. I need him to help you heal.” “No, Freya. You must leave. Just let me go.” Let him go? What the hell was he saying? I loved him. I wasn’t going just to leave. He was out of his damn mind.
