CHAPTER TWO

923 Words
THE NEXT DAY “Tee, when are we going to go shopping for our halloween prom costumes? We've been postponing it for days.” April complained. “Maybe tomorrow evening.”Talia suggested. “Next tomorrow is halloween prom,I hope you know what you are doing.” “Yes, I do.” April and Talia walked into the school's hallway and it was filled with balloons and flowers, banners and cardboard that read “would you be my date to Halloween prom.” April got past the crowd and spotted Jamiel leaning against the locker. She avoided him and took another route to her class. It felt as if that day had been longer because April was getting really tired and sleepy. After what felt like a millennium the bell for the end of school finally rang, students rushed out of their classes like they had all been waiting for that moment all their lives. “I'll be heading to the library now,I'll see you tomorrow.”Talia said. “Honestly you should quit this stupid obsession, I can tell he's using you to just do his job.” “He didn't ask me to,I'm doing it of my own free will.” “If you say so.” April sprinted through the hallway and out the door, her house a 1hr walk from the school. She could've easily taken the bus,but she chose to walk today. She had a moodless expression on her face and she was looking gloomy. “April, why do you have that look on your face?” Finn,a classmate from the book club walking by, asked her. “I'm heartbroken, bored and tired.” “Heartbroken, who has the nerve to do that,he really doesn't know who he messed with.” “Chill Finn,I'm just bored cause Talia's not here with me and this walk home is taking forever.” “Oh okay,I thought it was something else.” “No, I'm fine.” They got to an intersection, “I guess this is where we say goodbye then.” Finn said. “Yeah, see you tomorrow at the book club.” April took her left and continued her lonely journey to her house. She heard rustling of cans and she turned to her left and lo and behold it was that same alleyway she met Jamiel. She wanted to take her chances to know if she'd see him there or not. She walked into the alley nonchalantly and unafraid. “I see you have no fear in the world dear April.” Jamiel said, from the shadows. “Of course what makes you think I would?” April retorted. “Nothing, just the thought of how you were breathing heavily and the pace at which your heart was pounding on Sunday evening,I didn't quite expect you to come here again.” “And what gave you the impression to say that I was afraid that evening.” “I could see it in your eyes, like they were begging me to not hurt you.” “You must be out of your mind.” “Okay so you aren't scared of me then,it must be the other.” “The other?” “Yes.” “Which is?” “You like me and you can't get my face out of your head.” “You are truly insane.” “Okay then if it's not that either, why are you here.” “I came here to look for someone.” “Someone?,now that sounds very interesting.” “It's none of your business.” “Oh it is very much my business,Mia cara. Who are you meeting here?” “A guy.” “What kind of girl meets a guy at an abandoned alleyway.” “Must you always have to think of it in a bad scenario,I just wanna get something from him.” “At a dark alley way, well I can believe you because with all that no guy would want to hook up with you.” “What do you mean by that.” “I mean not unless they have a death wish, because you belong to me.” “You're nuts.”April said and turned to leave. “Hold up before you leave, pick a sexy and elegant costume for halloween prom, date.” “Date? Like you mean,I am your date to Halloween prom.” “Yes,like I said earlier, you belong to me,so none else has the right to be your date other than me.” “You are indeed nuts, why did I even come here in the first place?” “So you finally admit that you came here for me.”A sly grin appeared at the corner of his lips. April face flushed with shade of pink, she left the alley and didn't turn back till she left. DARK COTTAGE “Wise one, there's nothing more you can do about them.” A woman clad in all black said. “Absolutely nothing, the maximum age is 18,once they're 18,I cant keep it tied down anymore, and if we force it,it might never come out again.” The old witch woman said. “Okay ma,I'll get going then.” LATER THAT NIGHT “She said there's nothing more we can do to suppress it.” The same fully black dressed woman said to another woman fully clad in red. “Then I guess we'd have to buy the chains and get prepared to explain to them.” “Yes, I guess we'd still have to talk them sooner or later.”
