Even late in August, as though flags of many colors lined an avenue of heroes, the curved pathway that led to their new home in Westmount announced the arrival of the couple and their golden retriever with riotous peonies, marigolds, pearl yarrow, and western wood lily or tiger lily in pots and hanging containers.
From a distance the yard invited a gardener’s appreciation with a low-lying prairie rose hedge, flanked by cotoneaster, and purple clematis trailing up the cream colored stone walls, red dogwood contrasted with paper birch, silver berry, and twining honeysuckle trees hung along the fence at the back.
