Episode 2: The Workload

I woke up as soon as the alarm rung and hurriedly took a bath. Today, I wanted to ask Xander if I could go to work. Not that I needed to. Right now, since our company is already merged Xander has been managing it.

I just want to do something. It's not like me to stay in the house and it'll be a waste of my study not to use it. I studied Business because I thought I'll be managing the company.

I entered the kitchen and make a coffee and a toast because that's all I'm good at when it comes to food. Xander came in all dressed up in a suit.

"Good morning, Xander!" I greeted him with a sweet smile. "Coffee?" I put his cup of coffee in front of him.

"Good morning. Where are you going? Meeting with Jena again?" He sip at his coffee and look at me. It's still awkward between us or at least for me since last night. I did not thought he'd ask that.

"No. Uhm, I wanted to ask if I could get a job or something." I was looking at him, blinking rapidly.

"Your coffee is always been this good." He said and eat the toast I made. "You want to handle your parents company?"

"Ahh, not really handle it. I haven't got the training yet, I'm not sure if I can handle it well. If you can just give me an entry level." I smile at him. I'm not sure if I can do it yet. Xander better handle it. I'm not confident.

"You want to be my secretary?" He ask before wiping his mouth and stand. I stand as well and walk beside him while looking up at him.

"You already have a secretary. You'll fire him for me?" I ask teasing him. I shrugged and glance at me.

"Nah. I'd rather keep him. He's very efficient." He laughed and pinch my cheek.

"I was just teasing you! No need to hurt my ego!" I hit him and laugh as well. "Come on."

"You can be my assistant secretary. Would that be okay? At least that way you can also train to handle your company." He said as he snake his arm on my waist and guide me towards the car he'll be using.

"That'll be good enough for me." I hop in. "Yet! I can't wait to see my office." I said and giggled.

"Someone's excited. Your office is very nice." He smiled and start the engine.

"Follow me. I'll show you your office." He said and walked. I do as I tell. My brow furrowed as he guide me through his office.

"That's your office." My voice is teasing. He glance at me and wink.

"I know." He open the door and let me in. He point at the right corner. There's a table on it. "There's your office table. You'll work there, my assistant secretary. Go ahead, there's your task ready on the table. I'll need it, ASAP. Okay?"

I go to my table and pick up the papers. There's an instructions written on it. I should start working. I sat down and start the computer. I waited a couple of minutes but it is not starting yet.

I look below the table and check the wirings. I think nothings wrong here, but then again I'm not an IT, I'm not so sure.

"Xander?" I looked up to see him from here.

"Yes? Why are you down there? Is something wrong, baby?" He stands and walk towards me.

"The computer is not starting. I don't know what to do." He sat on my chair, let me stand from kneeling and let me sit on his lap. I wiggled a bit but he held my waist so that I won't move.

"Stay there." He said before troubleshooting the computer. I just watch his hands as it move fast on the computer.

His hands are big and manly. I can clearly see the veins. No wonder he's so strong.

I was taken a back when I felt his hand on my waist again that I immediately hold it.

"There. All fix. You may start working now." He make me stand while he's still holding me by my waist.

"Thank you." I step out of his way and look up at him and smile.

"You're welcome. Just call me if you need my help." He bend down and kiss me on my cheek. He then go back to his table.

I started working my ass out so that I can give it to him ASAP. I also need him to check it if I did right.

Hours later I'm already done at my task and stand to give it to him.

"Is that okay? Should I redo it?" I asked, hopefully it's alright. My back hurts already. I don't think I can sit there all day.

"It's good. Can you get me a cup of coffee?" I nodded at him and went out to make him his coffee.

"What do I do next?" I handed him the coffee and look at his table. He have lots of work huh? Being a CEO is really tiring.

"Can you give this to the marketing department? You also familiarise yourself with the departments." He said without looking and strated working again as soon as I took the documents.

I went out again. I think I might have myself a little tour, right? I saw his secretary stands up. I give him a smile and nod a little.

"Mr. Jackson? What floor is the marketing department?" I ask him just before he went inside Xander's office.

"It's 21 floor. Is it okay if I let you give another document for the HR? It's on 24th floor." He went back to his table and pick up a document and hand it to me when I nod at him. "Thank you so much." He head back to Xander's office.

"You're welcome." I turn back and went on to do my task. I sighed and press the elevator down. This is a tall building. I wonder if need to go to all the floors. Is it even necessary? I think I'd only go to the important ones.
