CHAPTER SIXTEEN BREA “Loch, you’re shivering.” Brea crouched down at his side. Smoke from the pyres curled into the air, remnants of the people who once gave this village life. They burned the bodies hours ago, but now, as the sun disappeared behind ice-covered trees, Lochlan remained. “Go away, Brea.” He sat on the snowy ground with his knees bent and shoulders hunched forward, watching the smoke drift through the dusk to cover the village in a thick cloud.
