During dinner, I noticed just the slightest fissure in the wall that Vanessa thinks is so securely built around her heart. Her comment about me seeking out one of the servants to sate my carnal needs wasn’t unnoticed. Ezra and I are starting to work ourselves into her heart. I can see it. My only wish is that she would let us completely in and stay with us. “Are you ready to go shopping, Little Queen?” I asked as she finished her last bite of cake. “What exactly are we shopping for anyway? Not that I am complaining because I need the walk after that meal,” she sighed, rubbing her stomach. “Anything your heart desires. Ask and you will receive,” I told her, and watched as mischief sparked in her eyes. “What if I want a jewel-embellished bra and a ten-carat diamond ring?” she taunted.
