The enchantress made herself invisible again and came out of the hiding place levitating, terrified. When she could see the creature better, she was still amazed. Lions on Buì Island. It wasn't possible!
As he waited for her to come out, he seemed to be digging through the anomalous rock. Without thinking twice, the girl turned around and took the opposite route to get as far away as she could. Keeping the focus on the magic flow was a huge accomplishment after all that had just happened, but it was a matter of life and death. A more powerful roar reached her when the beast discovered that she was gone and so I increased my speed a little more.
When she got near the dry riverbed she had to stop because she couldn't take it anymore.
Invisibility dissolved. The woman was running out of energy.
She summoned my eagle to find out where she was cursing her bad sense of direction.
“Odds are not in my favour”
The only possible way was to go down to the riverbed and follow a branch that formed its delta.
She leaned out to understand the height of the canyon wall and realized that it would not be easy without using levitation. At least there were about fifty meters before she arrived at the end.
Demoralized for a moment by the idea of not making it and tired, she decided to rest a few moments. She drank another potion to be able to get a move on and calling the familiar back she began to levitate again by lowering in the gorge.
A powerful roar behind shattered her and she lost the concentration falling ruinously for the last meters of height. Her body rolled around while she clenched her teeth for the pain as she hit sharp stones and injured herself almost everywhere.
She couldn't avoid to swear and immediately brought a hand towards the severely wounded knee.
"LEIGHIS! LEIGHIS!" She spit out the spell.
A stone arrived on her face and turned her attention towards the wall of rock, and she noticed with dismay that the lion was reaching her jumping with great agility on the most improbable footholds.
She got up with all the willpower she had, panting for oxygen and then started running on the opposite side of the canyon.
"Leighis, Feabhas, Guala Leighis, Feabhas" She chanting all the spells of healing and fatigue and then she was able to grab a red bottle that she swallowed in an instant once her shoulder was working again.
The lion followed the girl slowly as if distracted by something but never lost sight of her again.
She had now reached the other side of the river but he didn't seem the least bit worried.
Looking ahead, she could only see one of the branches of the river going underground and a winding climb with easily fragile ground... it wasn't exactly the best. But just the fact that I could climb it for her was a sign of hope.
She called Accipiter and immediately used his vision to figure out what to do once she followed the delta mouth and especially if there were other dangers besides the lion. In the meantime, she had already started climbing without looking back.
Something grabbed her ankle and threw her off while she heard only a roar not far away. The shield activated so she didn't suffer much, but by then there was no part of her body that didn't hurt.
A huge hand grabbed her by the hair and another stench joined the sulphur smell. Trying to focus the vision she found herself face to face with a troll: yellow, with a boar-like face but also a human, ears and eyes more like an elf, the first pointed, the second with the iris of triple colour but with a completely black sclera. He was definitely twice the size of her.
The enchantress pointed her finger at his forehead, exhausted: "Geur!"
An acid bullet blows up his skull, killing him instantly. She fell to the ground with a sore ankle and immediately turned towards the lion, preparing to face him, but to her amazement she found him in her defence in front of seven other trolls.
“I really don't understand anything about what is happening”.
The confusion was put aside when she saw her familiar take part in the battle and try to blind one of the trolls. Her fear grew.
"CIPI, GO AWAY! GEUR DÌLE!" She screamed with the lungs on fire.
Howls of pain echoed in the canyon as the acid rain descended on her attackers, so she immediately took advantage of it to gobble up the potions.
The lion had jumped backwards and avoided her spell. He stared at her as satisfied and proud and exchanged a glance of understanding with the eagle that had landed on his head.
She was more and more confused when the earth began to shake. The potions had now taken effect and she felt stronger and stronger, so she tried to banish her familiar without succeeding.
"What? Cipi! Hurry up!"
Other wild voices joined the dying ones of the almost liquefied troll group and another large number of monsters came out of the cave.
S.h.i.t.
The lion roared so loud it stunned her, the spell stopped, and the beasts charged. I had to run or make something up.
She quickly drew a circle in the sand with all the runes she needed...
"Cosaint!" and she curled up in the dome thinking, desperate, how was she going to get the last two ingredients out unharmed?
And then she sensed it: that feeling of being followed turned into disgust, disdain and nausea. There was a demon!
What on earth was going on? Everything went dark all of a sudden, and another more shrill and powerful roar was added to the lion's roar. I looked up, angry, ready to fight and almost fainted.
There was a dragon on her head. Black, as big as the canyon, its hooked wings stretched out as if to protect her in the effort to spit flames against the trolls. And the evil sensation came from him.
“It’s not my lucky day. Definitely”
Cathleen was paralyzed as well as disgusted. It was the big test and she found herself facing a pack of trolls, a supernatural lion, and a demon dragon.
” I didn't think it was quite the norm...”
The lion came to her side, giving her a snout and waking her from despair. She sighed and watched it better. He didn't seem to have hostile intentions, on the contrary. And Accipiter felt no need to defend her.
"Hey, kitten. What do you want? Can we get out of here before the dragon eats us?"
She extended my arm to caress his thick mane. Another kind of sound came out of his throat... Was he purring? He moved a little with his eyes half-closed in ecstasy with the idea of continuing to cuddle.
What kind of paradoxical situation was she in?
She continued with both hands and a little more forcefully sinking into his black fur. The girl expected it to be dirty, but it was as if the animal had just taken a bath.
"You are a summons! You belong to a sorcerer like me!" with disapproval because she had stopped, he laid on the floor at her feet snorting and waiting for her to continue. It was so big that she could ride it. Maybe he had been sent to supervise her during the trial? She couldn't remember anyone with a lion as familiar, though. So, had she failed the test?
"I doubt the dragon was planned..."
The reptile had pulverized the little troll group and now it was loudly panting. And mostly ignoring her. Oh, well... it doesn't hurt to try. She wanted to finish the test and get out alive.
"Dofheicthe" She made herself invisible and started to walk away in a specific point trying not to make a sound. But the lion caught the attention of the dragon, who begin to stare at her. She started to run in a panic.
"f***k, f***k, f***k, f***k, f***k! AAAAAAAARGH!" the scream was the sharpest she ever made.
A mountain of scales had caught her in his palm. The disgust for his touch took over the fear. She felt like she have to throwing up in any moment.
"LASAIR BRAGH!" From her hands a firebomb went off against his mole with no effect.
"Stupid" Did the dragon speak? An erotic sensation spread throughout her body along with his voice, unlocking something in her soul.
“Yes, I was stupid.” She walked to hold on to one of his claws, staring into his blue eyes with irises like those of a reptile.
"Tintreach" Her voice grew deeper when the power fulfil her, and the fear was gone. Lightnings came down from the sky and hit him, but they didn't leave him to unload on the ground: they reached into her body, which accumulated them and then recharged in him.
"Are you sure it's her, Dubhar?" Was he underestimating her? The enchantress was screaming for the effort to control the lightnings, to drive it down the inside of his throat. She knew she was only tickling him.
"Lochd Glan"
She was a Soillse, the antithesis of his race. They had the innate ability to cleanse evil.
She hadn't done it in a long time, but it was even easier because of his presence. Her hair and eyebrows went from brown black to completely white, her eyes from red brown to gold, her skin was glowing with light. She let her purification replace the lightnings that was inside his whole body and tried to spread it in him, every inch.
His roar of pain shattered the sky as she fell into the void. The woman made gravity do its work until she had to activate levitation to land without hurting herself. Then she acted in an instant. She didn't want to use the emergency system, but it WAS an emergency!
She slid towards the corpse of the troll she had killed; the lion reached her mumbling with Accipiter still on his head. She forced the magic to return him to the astral plane while the feline and her studied eye to eye. She hugged the troll and broke the little ball in her mouth. The bitter liquid filled her mouth and a pull from behind the navel made her tremble like every time she used a portal.
After a strong flash of light, she found herself with my loot in the Tests Room with the whole Council staring at her.
