ch.5 Our Mate is?

ASHER'S POV

Today has been a long and frustrating day. I couldn't wait to get home and let my my wolf Apollo out. I missed school today which means I'll have extra work to do tomorrow since I missed today's lessons.

I had to go with my father Alpha Mason of the Blood Stone pack to meet with the Alphas of other packs to discuss an increase in rouge attacks.

"why don't you train the female's to also be warriors and trackers? they know self defense but they can be even more vicious when there young and mates are threatened. If they were to join the ranks and the rouges saw them out there they'd expect them to be helpless and that's when we gain the upper hand." the youngest alpha of all the alphas, Matthew said out in a rush before my father could object.

"yes and then we put our females in danger when we are supposed to protect them." Alpha Mason said glaring at him.

"My mother and current luna still and I have been discussing this amongst ourselves. With the females being slimmer and a bit smaller than us they will be able to hid in small spaces or behind trees and attack in the blink of an eye before they even know what hit them,was my Lunas point so we are going to start training them next week." Alpha Matt of the the Blue moon pack. He is also my father's older brothers son, when my uncle suddenly got sick and could no longer hold his position he passed it to my younger cousin before he even found his mate, not to mention he's only 20 still.

"Well I just don't think it's a good idea. I will not be putting our females in line of danger" My father said with finality.

The meeting continued for a few more hours when it was over my father said we still have enough time to go to the ball I just nodded not wanting to talk my father.

He never listens to me even though I'm supposed to be the next Alpha he still doesn't trust me to make any decisions. Any time I come up with a good idea for the pack he doesn't listen and ignores my ideas. I'm sick of being treated like a child I'm twenty three for goddess sake.

But since I'm still unmated he says I'm not ready to take over or make any decisions for the pack yet. that's not fair to treat me this way when plenty of packs have unmated Alphas.

As soon as the car stopped in front of the pack house I jumped out and ran towards the woods instead of going in to change for the party. My wolf was on edge and so was I, I need to let my wolf out so we can both relax.

As soon as I made it to the edge of the tree line I jumped and shifted midair into my huge Auburn wolf. I gave full control over to Apollo as we took off weaving in and out of the trees. It felt amazing to let the wind run through my fur and the feel of my paws digging into the dirt as I ran through the woods. The smell of nature and the dirt and listening to the sounds of all the animals running through the bushes and in the trees.

As Apollo made it to our spot we found a few months ago he gave me back control as I shifted and got dressed in a pair of shorts I had stashed between rocks. I found this spot when I went running a few months ago after I walked into the pack house to find Brenda and three guys beating kore because she didn't clean Brenda's room to her liking. Kore saw me and looked up at me pleading me to help her with her light hazel eyes. honestly what does she want me to do, she should of just been more carefull its not like i can go against brenda, we've been dating on and off right now we're off that still doesn't mean I wanted to hear her s**t.

As I was running I came across this large pool of water that was so blue and clean it looked like it was full of crystals. It had a tall water fall that looked like crystals, this spot was something so amazing and special I've kept it a secret.

I don't know how long i have been sitting with my feet in the water when my father mind linked me and told me he was at the ball but I didn't want to go because I knew Brenda was their looking for me and would be trying to make a fool of Kore and I wasn't I the mood for her and her games.

Just as I was wondering if I should go ahead and head to the party I smelt an amazing smell and started to look around for it. I couldn't find where it was coming from but it kept getting stronger and stronger.

The smell was intoxicating. This smell is a memorable and unique scent that works perfectly to make me feel tranquility and ultimate relaxation. I've never felt this way, I'm always on edge and ready to snap out on anyone since I haven't yet found my mate. This scent is enough to make me want to relax and breath it in all day. it's a mix between lavender and vanilla.

All of a sudden someone steps out into the clearing and I can just make out the outline of a female. When my wolf starts howling and running around in my head and before I know it he starts screaming mate.

I freeze watching her as she slowly walks into the light of the moon and I see it's none other then Kore. She looks beautiful with her with her dark brown hair and natural red highlights shinning in the moon light and her skin looks silky smooth and white in the moon light. She had on an amazing dress is long and emerald green it was floor length and hugs her curves just right with a slit down the leg that makes me want to touch her milky thigh.

I didn't realize I cleared my throat loud till I see her whip her head around looking for someone when her eyes land on me she is just as shocked as I am.

"what are you doing here? How did you find this place?" I asked before she could say anything.

"I don't know. I don't even know where here is." she said.

Her voice is so smooth it wraps around me like silk. I want nothing else than to touch her. My wolf agrees with a purr in my head. Before I know I'm touching her.

"what do you want?" I asked as I went up to her and grabbed her wrist. As soon as I touch her sparks erupted in my wrist and spread up my arm. I let go quickly in shock.

Her eyes widened as I quickly let go. I wanted to reach out and touch her checks again to feel the sparks but I didn't want to look like a fool, it's not like I can accept her as my mate.

"You're my mate?" I asked. In complete shock. I've always been attracted to her but never knew why. But how can I be her mate, how can she want me when I couldn't save her when she needed me to.

"I guess so. that is unless you don't want me" she told me as she looked anywhere but in my eyes.

"I don't get it" I said without thinking how it'd sound to her.

"look I don't understand what is so hard to get? Moon Goddess paired us together because apparently she saw something in us that was ment for each other. But if you can't see that and you are so stuck up you still can't stand me just because I am different then I'll just end this here. I Kore Smith, Daughter of Beta Nathaniel Smith and Sarah Smith and future Beta herby mmphm humph umph." I slapped my hand over her mouth as my wolf let out a rumble in warning. Did she think I didn't want her? I've always wanted her but was so weak I couldn't even stand up for her.

"What do you think you are doing?"I asked with a warning in my eyes with anger and hurt showing in them.

"hrmmph" she tried saying but then pointed to my hand still covering her mouth which is sending amazing shocks through my body.

I slowly removed my hand and we stood inches from each other neither one moving. I finally cleared my throat and looked away.

"What do you think you were trying to do?" I asked again.

"well you don't want to be my mate right?" she asked hurt."so I was gonna reject you so you wouldn't look like the bad guy by rejecting me" she continued to say trying not to cry.

"that's not what I was saying im just confused and shocked is all" I said turning away from her in shame.

"But..." she tried to say but I cut her off.

"I just need to sleep and think give me some time please this isn't a rejection ok" I said with a pleading tone. I want her and no one can have her but me, even if she wont ever be.

"ok" she said in a whisper but I heard her as I turned and walked away with a plan forming in my head to keep her as my mate and way to have an heir but keep brenda as my luna seeing as she's much more attractive and stronger. Apollo agreed with a purr as I jumped and shifted midair as we raced home to bring the plan into action.
