In the dim evening light, Elara paced anxiously, glancing at the clock ticking towards midnight, and Derrick still hadn't returned home. She replayed the events of the day in her mind.
Elara had arrived home early that morning to prepare for the days work. There, on the lounge chair, actually sleeping soundly, was Derrick. It had been two days since their quarrel, and Elara couldn't help but feel a pang of worry and curiosity. She wondered why he hadn't retreated to their bedroom or made any effort to reconcile.
Elara got up and pussyfooted towards the lounge chair. She really wanted to concentrate on Derrick's quiet face, presently without any trace of the lighthearted grin she was used to seeing. Memories of the warmed contention overwhelmed her, and she was unable to shake off the feeling that something had changed between them.
Delicately, Elara brushed a strand of hair away from Derrick's brow, delicacy and concern washing over her. She knew the two of them expected to resolve the issues that had divided them, yet she additionally yearned for the natural warmth and affection they once shared.
Elara goes to get breakfast ready in the kitchen. She sneaks around the house, doing whatever it takes not to wake Derrick who's actually sleeping soundly.
Elara prepares a delightful spread of hotcakes, fried eggs, and fresh fruit. The smell fills the kitchen, making her stomach snarl with expectation. When everything is done, she prepares the table for two, trusting that Derrick will join her when he wakes up.
In the process of completing breakfast arrangements, Elara goes back to her room to prepare for work. She puts on her clothing, brushes her hair, and assembles her files for the day ahead.
As she's about to leave, Elara recollects that she left a plate of food for Derrick on the dining table. She rapidly snatches it and cautiously puts it in a lunchbox, ensuring it's stuffed safely. She hopes Derrick will value having a good meal.
Cheerfully, Elara heads out the entryway, prepared to overcome the day at work. She leaves a note for Derrick, wishing him a decent morning and telling him about the morning meal she prepared for him. She trusts that this little act of good deed will make him happy and help him to remember her love and care.
Elara showed up at her working environment as early as possible, prepared to handle the day's difficulties. Much to her dismay, a group of her colleagues, known for their egotism and dastardly way of behaving, had assembled in the lunchroom.
As Elara cleared her path through the workplace, her heart sank when she heard their harmful remarks.
"That Elara, is so damn phony. I mean seriously, she comes to work everything pretending to be somebody else, that is so not cool" . The cruelest young lady in the workplace, Tracy, expressed.
"You got that right, she's continuously put up a fake act attempting to deceieve everybody that she's a decent individual. However , she's trying to ger to the top" . Ashley announced
"Well, I suppose that is what you do when you have no talents" . Everybody laughed as Alisha made jokes.
They called out to her, put her down, and giggled without regard to her. It was a harassing scene that nobody ought to go through.
Despite the fact that she had heard a few mean jokes before, Elara didn't allow them to irritate her. She had already gotten used to it and realize that her value wasn't characterized by what others said. All things being equal, she centered around her work and the fulfillment she felt when everything was in order.
Regardless of an intermittent rude remark from a collegue, Elara remained resolute. She realized that her work justified itself, and she invested wholeheartedly in being a basic member of the managerial group.
As Elara kept on working really hard into the day, she couldn't resist the opportunity to feel a feeling of disquiet. She continued looking at her phone, wanting to see a message or a call from Derrick, but there was nothing. The quiet made her question her behavior from a day or two ago when she had scolded him about his disturbing habits.
Considerations dashed through her mind as she contemplated whether she had been too harsh on him. Did she drive him away? Is it true that she was overall excessively controlling? Elara couldn't resist the opportunity to re-think herself.
She chose to have some time off and went outside for some natural air. The cool wind brushed against her face, giving an epiphany in the midst of her viewpoints. Elara understood that her anxiety was as a result of love and care.
Elara's mind was consumed with guilt. It had been almost three days since her doubts had taken hold, and she still hadn't found anything to confirm her suspicions.
She had gone through innumerable hours looking at web-based entertainment profiles, actually taking a look at his messages, and, surprisingly, going through his phone when he wasn't anywhere near. However, each time, she came up with essentially nothing. There were no implicating messages, no dubious calls, nothing to recommend that Derrick had been untrustworthy.
Getting back to her work, Elara took a full breath and settled on a choice. She would talk to Derrick and apologize for any hurt she might have caused. It was important for her to communicate her interests without being critical or controlling. She believed he should realize that her aims were established in their relationship's development and satisfaction.
Hours passed, and the office gradually emptied out as her colleagues left for the day. Elara's rounded up her work for the day and quickly rushed home to try and make things right.
"Derrick, Derrick". She called as she unlocked the front door but got no reply. She began to search the house for a possible place he might have gone to. She stumbled upon a sticky not on the fridge. It was from Derrick, it read.
"Babe, I am going out to a party with my friends tonight, I won't be coming home early. Don't wait up for me.
-Derrick.
Elara kept on hanging tight at home for Derrick in the late night, her uneasiness developed. The minutes transformed into hours, and there was still no indication of him. Similarly, as she was beginning to stress.
As the clock finally struck midnight, Elara couldn't wait for Derrick anymore she decided to go to sleep seeing that she had a busy day ahead of her. As she laid on her bed her phone rang, and it was her friend Kira.
"Hello, Elara!" Kira shouted, her voice loaded up with anxity. "I will send you an address. Be there as fast as you can!"
Confused, Elara immediately spruced up and made a beeline for the area Kira sent. It ended up being a bar, and as she entered, her heart sank. She spotted Kira sitting on a counter, looking frustrated.
Elara moved toward her companion, her voice shuddered as she inquired, "Kira, what was so urgent that you had to call me here?
Kira sighed and pointed at a specific heading. Elara's eyes followed her signal, and her heart dropped to her stomach. There, she saw Derrick, her sweetheart, finding a spot at a table with another lady, taking part in a seemingly intimate conversation.
"Derrick". Elara called with shock written all over her face.
