Bound by Fate -Chapter 4

278 Words
“What do we do with him?” Leo growls angrily motioning to Lennon. Thane considers. He can’t take on Lennon and his pack with only Leo and Mac, not while protecting the injured female. Our Mate. Rowan reminds him. Thane growls in frustration, stuck between a rock and a hard place. “He’s coming with us,” he growls, “and if you or yours makes one move against us, I will kill you where you stand”. Lennon doesn’t respond, but his warriors stiffen on the stairs. He must have mind-linked with them not to make a move though, because they moved to one side, creating a narrow aisle to pass by. Thane leads the way, holding the now unconscious woman as gently as he can against his chest. She’s completely unconscious, the silver chains cut but still embedded in her skin. She’s bleeding sluggishly still, the wounds unable to heal around the silver. He gives a silent prayer to the goddess that she makes it vowing that if she does not, he will end Lennon right then and there, and face whatever consequences there are from the other alphas he leads. They pile into the truck, Mac driving so Leo can keep a watchful eye on Lennon and Thane can hold on to his mate. His mate, the thought made him shiver as Rowan paced anxiously at the back of his mind, vowing increasingly more terrible things should she not make it. She still smells wrong, but he brushes it off as the silver. He leans down, whispering softly against her hair. “Don’t leave me, little one,” he pleads softly.
