The door slams shut behind us with a heavy thud and my pulse is still roaring violently in my ears as I carry Aria through the dim apartment, her body trembling in my arms while her fingers clutch at my shoulders. Her breathing is uneven now... shallow little breaths that fan against my throat and only feed the fire raging beneath my skin.
I barely even make it to the bed before I lose what’s left of my restraint.
