" Just give her time, she'll come around. " Kimble says.
" You talk like you don't know your sister. Once she's set her mind not to do it, no Mountain can move her to accept". Mateo says half heartily, that he didn't want to lose this big opportunity that comes once in a lifetime.
" Unless it's someone she loves so much. Threatened to cut her grandmother's expenses and you'll see her kissing onto your feet" Sarah says smirking.
" Hm.. you're a genius mom" Kimble gave her a fist bump.
" Am not pretty for nothing" she says proudly.
" Right" Kimble smiled.
" So what do you think about that? Sarah asked Mateo.
" That's a good idea but first get me my food am starving. I've had enough for today." He said sitting on the couch taking his phone to call the hospital.
Later in the evening the following day, on her way back from a class she received a call from the hospital, saying that her grandmother's treatment needed more money, and asked Nadia to hand over the money.
" It's not possible ma'am, my father is the one handling the bills," she said through the phone.
" Am sorry ma, but your father called last night and cut the expenses" the nurse says.
" Are you sure? Let me call my dad. There must be a mistake somewhere" she hung up and immediately called Mateo.
" Hello dad, the hospital just called me saying you cut off the money? Why??
" I think you already know why? He said rather coldly.
" I don't know dad please don't punish grandma on my behalf" her voice broke.
" Get married into the Welsh family then Maybe I'll reconsider paying your grandma's fees," he said and hung up. She never believed that he could cut off her grandmother's medical expenses and leave her grandmother to die. Nadia didn't expect her father to be this cruel to her. Wasn't she his daughter? She wiped her tears and left to visit the only person who could help her and that was her boyfriend, Felix.
She met Felix two years ago when he came for his cousin's convocation ceremony and that was the beginning of their sweet romance. She believed they both love each other even though she has her about his flirty boss, Karen. He would always tell her he was careful. He worked as an accountant in the company so their paths often cross but she chose to trust him. On getting to the office, she walked to the secretary.
" Am here to see Felix. Is he in? She asked.
" You're Mr. Felix's girlfriend, right? I've seen you two together often" she turned to her smiling, Nadia nods
" Yes I am" she returned the smile.
" He's around but not in at the moment. He's in a meeting which would end anytime soon" she answered.
" I'll wait then but I need to use the convenience"
" It there, go straight along to the boss's office, I would love to take you there but am busy" she directed.
" It's no problem at all, I'll be fine," she said heading for the toilet.
but when she passed by the office of Felix's boss, Karen, she heard the voice of a man and a woman having s*x. The man's voice was very similar to Felix's. Nadia secretly peeped inside and found her boyfriend having s*x with another woman and here she was feeling guilty about what happened in the hotel, and what's worst was that he spoke ill of her. Only then did Nadia realize that Felix had been cheating on her and for what?. Nadia was so angry that she rushed into the office with a bucket, which was full of dirty water, pouring the water on them.
" What the f**k!!! He turned to see his girlfriend shocked and ashamed
" It's her again? Karen says covering up herself.
" You're sleeping with your boss!!!! How disgraceful!! You bastard" her voice alerted all the other staff who were as well shocked by what they saw. The shame on their faces clouded them as she stomped off in anger with tears rolling down. What was she going to do now? She has no other choice but to do as her father pleases and with that,t, she called her father back.
"I knew you'd call soon". He said on the phone.
" I've agreed to marry into the Welsh family. Just don't cut grandma's medical expenses" she pleaded as she silently cried hanging you the call she found a corner and broke down in uncontrollable tears.
Days passed and turned into a month, it was the wedding day but the groom was unavailable because he was hospitalized. This wasn't the wedding she's always dreamed of ever since she was a little kid. Ethan was sick, and the date has also been fixed there was no going back so some guests were invited, but no reporters were invited if not it would for sure enter the news headlines Nadia walked into the Welsh Family's mansion escorted by her father, Mateo. He turned to see her frowning
" You should smile. You're looking dead" he said.
" Well, you're not getting married to some sickly, are you? She replied rudely.
" Behave yourself and don't disgrace our family." He said as they approached the members of the Welsh family." Good day, everyone it's a pleasure to finally meet the giant of England" her father flattered they all smiled
Everyone who made up Ethan's family was staring at her, she instantly became nervous. She greeted them with side kisses putting on her best smile.
Roy looked at her and squeezed his face " who's she? This is not the lady I met the day I came to your home. " He said everyone turned to her father.
" She's not the one Ethan proposed to?" Ethan's grandmother, Elsa asked the anger in her voice was noticeable. Nadia stood still waiting for her father to clean up the mess he made.
