The doctor came in shortly but not the family doctor.
Before Ethan could utter a word the doctor spoke.
" I aAm Doctor Isreal. Dr. Louis is busy with surgery so he sent me instead " Ethan nods.
" There she is. She had a cut and I am afraid it might have been infected by now" he said dragging Nadia by the shirt as she grunted.
" It's nothing doctor, I can handle this. He's just exaggerating" she says the doctor confusingly looked at the duo.
" Treat her well," he said leaving for his room.
" Sorry about that. He's not often like that". She whispered causing the doctor to chuckle as he sat. He took a look at her arm.
" It's not infected but I have to disinfect it, just in case," he says bringing out the disinfectant, he was about to apply medicine for Nadia when suddenly, Ethan's sister, Roxanne, got in. Roxanne knew Nadia was the substitute bride for her brother, and from what she's been hearing she already had a bad impression of her. She stood glued to the floor looking at Nadia get treated.
" Hi," Nadia managed to say but instead she got no response.
"What are you doing here? That was the first question that crossed her mind.
"Excuse me?" this was the first time she was meeting with her and she already saw her as the enemy.
"Why am I surprised? She thought" the family must have told her the lies Kimble fed them with" she added.
"I said what are you doing here? You have no shame, do you? " She points at her.
"I do have shame but I am lost? What should I be ashamed of? She asked.
"You're one feisty one, aren't you? After you stole your sister's place to be his wife you still dared to move in here? Are you that desperate? "She says rolling her eyes and looking at Nadia who didn't utter a single word. It was better to remain quiet than to say something that would be used against her. The doctor watched on, not exactly getting what or who they fighting for, trying to mind his business but the duo didn't keep their little fight a secret.
"I aAm wasting my time on you" she stomped inside and then came out with Nadia's bag.
" You've overstayed your welcome now, please leave! " She yelled but Nadia sat still trying to shove the embarrassment she was feeling away from the doctor.
"Still proving stubborn right? Roxanne walked over dragging her by the arms and pulling her out.
"Get out of here!!!" She was about to say something when Ethan walked in.
"Enough is enough!! What do you think you're doing Roxanne? He turned to her with a disappointed look.
"What do you mean? AI am kicking her out" she defended.
"In front of the doctor! I thought you were smarter than this?" He scolds.
"You're not defending her, tell me !!" This was the first time he reprimanded her for being prejudiced.
" I am not defending anyone here, you're out of place by talking to her that way, she's my wife and deserves the same measure of respect you give to me, understand? He says with finality in his voice, she threw a death glare at her if looks could kill then Nadia would have been dead by those looks. She stomped out of the house in anger. There was a moment of silence between them before Nadia mustered the courage to say.
" Thank you" he looks on without uttering a word, he sighs and then said.
"Don't get any ideas? This means nothing" her heart tore into a thousand pieces but she still held on.
Still angry, she entered her car then picked up her phone to call Kimble and at the second ring she picked up.
" Hey girl, what's up?" She says excitedly but noticed the groaning of Roxanne she was forced to ask.
"What happened? Why do you sound like that? She asked.
" That sister of yours is getting on my nerves" she vents out.
"Who? Nadia? She asked innocently.
"Yes of course, do you have another sister? You know what meet up at Caramel's Càfe " she says.
"Ok, be there in twenty minutes" she hang up looking at their house and the thought of Nadia in it upset her mMore. Sshe immediately turned on the ignition and drove to the restaurant.
Sitting in the cafe, Kimble walked in graciously her eyes caught Roxanne on her phone with a glass of apple juice in front of her, she walked to her grabbing the seat to sit down.
"Hi, Roxanne" she made sure she sounded soft and gentle enough to convince Roxanne.
"You want to place an order? "She asked.
"I'd have what you're having" she replied looking around, this was the VIP section and looked tastefully furnished.
" So how are you coping with my sister? Her voice was so soft that it could soften a concrete heart.
" The pest is gradually getting my brother's approval. " She answered, Kimble felt somewhat jealous of her sister.
" Why am I jealous? After all, I handed my position over to her because didn't want him right" her subconscious mind asked her but even she was unable to answer.
"Well, she's always been like that. Wanting all the attention or acting up to get the attention" she said through gritted teeth.
"She's that bad?" She asked and Kimble nodded in confirmation. Whatever hatred Roxanne had for Nadia, she has to double it, so Roxanne could make her life a living hell at the mansion.
Roxanne and Kimble got along very well and soon became good friends. Roxanne assured Kimble that she would kick Nadia out of the Welsh family as quickly as possible and let her marry her brother, Ethan. Although Kimble didn't want to at first, she had to keep silent if not she was going to be suspicious.
" Well, I feel my brother is just indebted to her, I doubt if it's love" she replied.
"Indebted to her? Why would Ethan be indebted to her? A lot has happened in her absence.
" Well, according to Grandma, she helped him with his health crisis and since then he does not have the attack as frequently as it usually comes" she mimicked her grandmother's voice. Kimble's face was red with jealousy,s he hated it that they were all warming up to her which was not her plan all along.
" Everyone likes her? She asked.
"Apparently" she sneered.
"Why am I not surprised? she's gotten everyone's attention as she wished" her words built the hatred she had for Nadia instantly.
Nadia walked into the Newlife hospital where her grandma had laid here for months in a deep coma, she reached the counter to see nurse grace writing some stuff a the hospital ledger.
"Nurse grace, " she called, she instantly turned in her direction to see Nadia.
"Nadia, it' s been days now since you dropped by, what happened?" She asked.
"I've been swamped lately, but how's grandma doing?" She asked."Your grandma's medical expenses were short again. She's not been treated for 3days now. Didn't you know about it? The nurse revealed the anger that consumed her from within was so obvious, that she grabbed her phone and immediately dialed her father's number, she can't accept this.
"I suppose you've heard about your grandma? "His annoying voice cut through the phone.
" Dad, do you know you're not playing fair! This is absurd after all I've done for you and your stupid family you abandoned me for!" She tried to refrain from yelling.
"That's not my business," he said simply.
"Dad, if you don't send the money in 3 hours you'll not like what I'd do to your precious daughter!" And with that she hung up and stomped off, just a mile away someone had eavesdropped, he raised his head as he watched her stomp off in anger, his eyes darkened as her words kept echoing in his head

" So she's not what she presents herself to be,", he thought aloud. Roy comes up to him.
"Sir, this is the result of the test"
"Let's go," he said shortly and walked away leaving Roy confused.
" What happened to the boss?".
