Chapter 2 – The Monday Bible Study

A few days later, on Monday, Sister Lexy sent a message in our group chat.

**Sister Lexy:** "Let's meet at the park at 4:00 p.m. so we can enjoy the beautiful view while sharing God's Word."

I replied with a simple "Okay," and started getting ready. I was still new to the church, so I felt a little nervous. I didn't know everyone very well yet, but I was excited to attend another Bible study.

When I arrived at the park, Sister Lexy hadn't arrived yet. She was running a few minutes late, so I decided to sit on a bench and wait. The park was peaceful. Children were playing nearby, couples were walking together, and the cool afternoon breeze made the place feel relaxing.

While waiting, I checked our group chat.

I saw a message from Trixie.

**Trixie:** "I'm already here at the park."

I looked around, trying to see if I could recognize her, but the park was bigger than I remembered. There were many people around, and I couldn't find her anywhere. I didn't even know which part of the park she was in.

A few minutes later, Sister Lexy sent another message.

**Sister Lexy:** "Abby and Trixie, try to meet each other first so it'll be easier for me to find you."

I smiled after reading the message, but I didn't move.

I was too shy.

Maybe Trixie felt the same way because neither of us tried to look for the other. We both stayed where we were, waiting for Sister Lexy instead.

Finally, Sister Lexy arrived with the other church members. She found me first and waved happily.

"Abby! Over here!" she called.

I walked toward her, and after a few moments, Trixie also came over from another side of the park.

That was when I realized we had both been waiting in different places the whole time.

Sister Lexy laughed softly.

"You two were here all along, but neither of you found each other."

We all laughed because it was true.

After everyone had gathered, we found a comfortable place to sit under the trees. The weather was nice, and the peaceful surroundings made it the perfect place for our Bible study. Sister Lexy shared God's Word, and everyone listened carefully. Sometimes we shared our thoughts, and sometimes we simply listened and reflected.

Even though I was still quiet, I enjoyed being there. Everyone was kind, and little by little, I started feeling more comfortable around them.

When the Bible study ended, Sister Lexy smiled at me and Trixie.

"You two should add each other on f*******:," she said. "It'll be easier for you to communicate."

Trixie and I looked at each other awkwardly.

Neither of us wanted to make the first move because we were both so shy.

The others noticed our hesitation and started laughing.

"Come on! It's just f*******:!" one of them joked.

Feeling a little embarrassed, we finally exchanged our f*******: accounts and added each other. The other church members added me as well, making me feel even more welcomed into the group.

After that, we all decided to visit the night market because everyone was hungry. We walked together, bought food, shared stories, laughed, and got to know each other better. Although I still didn't talk much, I enjoyed listening to everyone's conversations.

As the evening came to an end, we all went our separate ways.

Before leaving, Sister Lexy reminded us, "See you all on Sunday!"

I smiled and nodded.

"See you."

As I walked home, I realized that every time I attended church or Bible study, I became a little less nervous and a little more comfortable. I still didn't know that the quiet girl named Trixie would one day become someone very important in my life.
