Chapter 1 – The First Meeting
I was sitting alone in the park because I wanted to relax my mind and take a break from everything. The cool breeze and the quiet surroundings made me feel peaceful. While looking around, I noticed a girl sitting in the cottage beside mine. She kept looking at me, and for a moment, I thought she wanted to approach me. Or maybe I was just overthinking. Haha.
A few minutes later, an older girl walked over to her and called her "sister." They started talking, though I had no idea what they were discussing. After their conversation, the older girl smiled and walked toward me.
"Hello," she said warmly. "I'm Lexy. I was wondering if I could share with you how good God has been to us. Is that okay with you?"
I smiled politely.
"Hello, too. I'm willing to listen," I replied.
"By the way, what's your name?" she asked.
"I'm Abby."
Lexy sat beside me and began sharing God's Word. She spoke with kindness and sincerity, and I listened carefully. I mean... what else was I supposed to do? *Just kidding.*
As she shared stories about faith, hope, and God's love, I found myself paying more attention than I expected. There was something comforting about the way she spoke. She wasn't forcing me to believe anything—she was simply sharing what she had experienced.
When she finished, she smiled and asked, "Would you like to join us? We're about to play some games."
I looked over and saw the group she was talking about. There was the girl who had been looking at me earlier. Her name was Julie. She smiled shyly when our eyes met.
The others introduced themselves one by one.
"I'm Shan."
"I'm Trisha."
"I'm Shen."
"I'm Lyka."
Everyone greeted me with warm smiles that made me feel unexpectedly welcome.
I hesitated for a moment because I wasn't used to joining people I had just met. But there was something about their kindness that made me feel comfortable...
Before we went home, Sister Lexy invited me to attend their church service on Sunday. I wanted to say no because I was shy and wasn't used to meeting new people. But I didn't know how to refuse her invitation. She was so kind and sincere that I simply nodded.
Then she asked for my f*******: account so we could stay in touch. I gave it to her, and she immediately sent me a friend request.
Before we parted ways, we had a short conversation.
**Lexy:** "Make sure you come this Sunday. I'll be waiting for you, and I'll be so happy to see you there."
**Me:** "Okay, Sister Lexy. I'll be there."
She smiled brightly before saying goodbye, and somehow, that smile made me feel less nervous.
## Sunday Morning
I woke up at exactly 6:00 a.m. I took a shower, got dressed, and prepared myself for church. I was excited, but at the same time, I couldn't stop feeling nervous. It was my first time attending their church, and I didn't know what to expect.
As I walked toward the church, my heart started beating faster.
When I arrived, I saw Sister Lexy already standing at the church gate, waiting for me just as she had promised. The moment she saw me, she smiled and waved.
"You came!" she said happily.
"I told you I would," I replied with a shy smile.
We walked inside together, and she introduced me to a few people before the worship service began.
The church service was peaceful and meaningful. Everyone sang with joy, prayed sincerely, and listened attentively to God's Word. Although I was new, I felt welcomed by the warm atmosphere.
When the service ended, Sister Lexy came over, gently held my hand, and brought me to a group of church members. We stood in a circle, and she introduced me one by one to everyone.
"Everyone, this is Abby," she said. "Let's all make her feel welcome."
They greeted me with kind smiles, making me feel less nervous.
While everyone was talking, I noticed one girl standing quietly nearby. She didn't say much. She was simply listening with a calm expression on her face.
She was beautiful... and incredibly cute.
There was something about her quietness that caught my attention. At the same time, she looked a little intimidating because she hardly spoke. I wondered if she had noticed that I kept glancing at her.
*If she did... then maybe I'm already dead.* Haha... just kidding.
Even though she didn't say a word, I couldn't help but become curious about her.
Before I went home, Sister Lexy invited me to come back every Monday for their group Bible study.
"We meet every Monday," she explained. "It's a great way to learn more about God's Word, and it will also help you become more comfortable with everyone."
I smiled and nodded.
"Okay, Sister Lexy. I'll come."
At that moment, I thought I was simply attending a Bible study to know more about God and make new friends.
Little did I know that every Monday would slowly change my life in ways I never expected.
