Lucas POV.
Amy’s late for class. Where is she? She’s never been this late before. Something must have happened.
I tried to mind linking her, but she ignored me. What the hell!? After almost 20 minutes into class, she finally comes in. But she’s got a weird look on her face. I try getting her attention, but she just ignores me still.
What’s going on Amy? Since when do you ignore me? I try again, mind linking.
Finally looking my way, she seems lost, and nervous. What the hell happened!?
In a very serious expression, she finally responds, but not the way I wish she did.
We REALLY need to talk after class. It’s serious. She minds links.
I’ve never, in all my entire life, seen Amy looking so worried. What could have possibly happened for her to be this way?
Finally, the class is over. I grab Amy and head off to the Alpha’s school office, along with Mike. Letting know our teaches that were going to miss the next class for the “Alpha” business. I need to know what happened to my best friend to be down and distracted so much today. But what they tell me, is far from what I could have ever imagined.
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN, YOU SAW HER CRYING!? WHAT HAPPENED?” I yell at Mike, telling me what he saw. I can’t believe someone dared to bully her again! What will I have to do to make it all stop? Who the hell was stupid enough to do it, again?
“I don’t know what happened, or who made her cry, but she looked distraught,” Mike says.
“Why the HELL didn’t you mind linked me to go find her!? I have to go find her!” Furious that he didn’t tell me what was happening to my Sienna. Trying to leave to search for her, Amy grabs me by the elbow, stopping me.
“Let go of my arm, now!” I tell her angrily, still trying to leave and look for Sienna.
“She’s fine now… But I think… Will you stop trying to leave and listen to what I have to say? Gosh!” She says with an exasperated sigh.
Stopping trying to fight her off, I turn and sit on the nearest chair.
“How do you know she’s ok?” I ask, finally catching on that, most likely, this is why she seemed so off in class.
“Look, don’t be mad, or upset and just listen to ALL of what I have to say. Ok?” She says putting her hand up, pleading me.
Nodding at her, I try my best not to interrupt her.
“Mike mind linked me to go find her” I try saying something, but she cuts me off. “Shut up and just listen! Your worst that a toddler sometimes.” She says letting out another frustrated sigh.
“She was heading in the girl’s bathroom, you know, no boys allowed in there!” I roll my eyes at her, while she huffs.
“When I walked in, I could hear her crying inside a stall. It took a few minutes before she came out. She was so upset. And you’re REALLY not going to like why she was so upset.” She says, looking a little nervous now.
“What do you mean?” I ask, now even more worried.
“Lana told her, that you and her, have been planning to get together since you were kids. That she’s just a distraction for you to pass time. She also said that she’ll make sure you leave her. Sienna seemed so pained about it. I really don’t know what happened to her. To Sienna. Clearly something serious is going on. But before I talked to her, she believed what Lana said. She looked terrified at the ideas you would be playing her and might really have a thing with Lana. It broke my heart. I made her understand that you would never in a million years have a fling with that b***h! That whatever Lana told her, is nothing but lies. That’s all she ever does is lie and manipulate people into believing whatever she wants. She has never been a trustworthy persona, but you have.” Closing my eyes trying to keep my cool, I take in a deep breath.
I’m going to kill that DAMMED b***h if you don’t fix her soon, Lucas! Alastair says, growling, angrily at me.
“She will never learn, will she? She’s never going to give up. I have NEVER even in the slightest way, given her any attention to any of her attempts to get close to me. She has never been a nice person. And she now wants to go after my mate?! Over my dead body will I ever let that happened!” I say through gritted teeth.
I try getting up and leave, but Amy stops me again.
“Look, Lucas, I know you want to fix this right now, but you might want to take a breather and chill for a few minutes. Maybe think about a proper solution and not just jump in blind. We need to figure out exactly what Lana’s going after and what she’s really going to do. I know she said she’s going after you, but why is she so obsessed with you? Doesn’t she want to find her true mate?” Amy question.
I know Lana always wished I was her mate. But it’s been 2 years since we (finally) found out we weren’t mates, so why didn’t she give up on the idea of being with me? I don’t know what to do right at this moment. Amy’s right, I need to calm down and think about it properly. I don’t want to make a mistake. I don’t want Sienna to pay for my carelessness. If Lana’s really trying to get in between Sienna and me, I’ll make dammed sure she regrets it. How dare she!?
“Your right.” Exhaling deeply. “I need to calm down. I don’t want to put Sienna in any more danger…”
Shit! Why did I just say that!? I tell myself, closing my eyes for a second.
“What do you mean, anymore? Is she in danger?” Mike ask, a little alerted at what I just said.
“I…I don’t know. Forget it, OK.” I say to him.
Way to go, i***t! Alastair says angrily.
Shut up! It slipped up, alight. I’m lost and confused about this whole situation. I reply to him.
Are you really going back on your promise to Sienna?
I would never! But I do need help with this. If Lana’s going to do something to her, I need help finding out what it is.
Both Amy and Mike are looking at me strangely. They know I’m not telling them something and it’s eating them up. Well, mostly Amy. I’ve always told her everything, but now, with Sienna, I can’t. I feel bad about it. But I am never going to give any chance for Sienna to doubt my trust. I love her so dammed much!
Will I be able to protect her? From Lana? From whoever’s hurting her outside of school? I really need to find out who that person is. Make them pay for every slap, scratch, cuts, bruises, and beating they ever gave her. It still boggles my mind that no one ever noticed it before. Now thinking about it, the report Mike gave me showed so many hospital visits. HELL!!! No wonder she didn’t want to go to the hospital for her hand! Slapping my forehead with my palm. What an i***t I am! I should have realized it sooner!
“Ok, here’s what we’re going to do for now. Mike, you’ll keep an eye out for Lana. If she does anything suspicious, mind link. Amy, you and I are going to watch over Sienna. She really seems to like you and she looked comfortable around you at lunch. I think it’ll be easier to watch out for any trouble.” I say to both of then with command in my voice.
“Do we tell Sienna about this?” Amy asks, looking a little worried.
“Not for now, no. We’ll just keep her company for now and keep that stupid b***h away from her!” I feel so exasperated about this whole Lana situation.
“Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you guys, Sienna’s coming with us at the falls tomorrow” Amy starts screeching in excitement, making me cover my ears.
“Wow, not so loud! How do you even make that sound!?” I ask her.
“She’s really coming with us!? Like for real!? YEAH!” She’s now jumping up and down, already planning the night.
“Yeah, she is.” I say smiling, thinking about finally spending some time with her outside of school.
“The only thing is, she can’t swim, so no throwing her into the water. That means you, Amy! No pranks with her! I’m serious. I don’t want her getting scared of hanging out because you pushed her into the falls! Please, Amy? It’s our first time outing outside of school and I don’t want it to be ruined!” I say pleadingly.
“Really, she can’t swim? Well, I can teach her! I’m a great swimmer!” She says, her eyes shining with excitement, thinking about teaching her how to swim.
“I’ll be the one showing her how to swim! I already told her I would”. I say quickly shooting Amy’s idea down.
I want to be the one holding her tiny little body in my arms.
Thinking about it, makes me feel… a little hot. No! don’t go there. You’ll just freak her out! I need to get my head right.
“Argh! Fine” Amy says, pushing her head back in exasperation.
“And no pranks?” I question.
“I promise, no pranks. I wouldn’t want her to not want to hang out because of me. I like her, She’s nice and kind.” Amy says smiling.
“So, we're set to go about the Lana situation and our outing tomorrow?”
“Yes, Lucas” Amy and Mike say at the same time.
I can’t wait to see my Sienna. We get up and leave the office. School’s just about done, and I don’t want to miss Sienna before she leaves. I already don’t see her enough. I want to spend as much time with her as I possibly can. Tomorrow night’s going to be amazing. Spending more than an hour with her, holding her, helping her swim.
I can’t wait!
