Chapter 17 (Sienna)

1619 Words
Sienna’s POV Driving in silence, he keeps his hand in mine. I don’t even want to let go. He’s made me feel so at ease since we talked at my place.  “Do you want to listen to some music? I’ve got a pretty good playlist on my phone.” He asks, taking out his phone and giving it to me. “Sure,” I say, giving him a big smile.  Looking through his playlist, I try and concentrate on what I’m reading and not his hand holding mine. Seeing a song from one of my favorite 80’s band, I get really excited! I plug in his phone and press play. ♪Step by step, oh, baby, gonna get to you, girl      Step by step      Rock!    Listening to older music was always something I liked. It’s what I used to listen to with my father. I have very fond memories of dancing in the living room with him, stepping on his feet. Twirling around. “So, you’re a New kids on the block fan?” He asks, lifting an eyebrow. “OMG! Yes, I am! You can never go wrong with 80’ and 90’ classic like this!” I exclaim with so much excitement. Looking out the window, I start lightly humming to the beat of the songs. Not paying too much attention to Lucas, I start losing myself into the song. A little more with each phrase. I even stat murmuring the lyrics without noticing it. ♪“Step by step, oh, girl, I really think it's just a matter of time       Step by step, oh, baby, gonna get to you, girl       Step by step, oh, baby, really want you in my world      Step by step, oh, baby, gonna get to you, girl      Step by step, oh, baby, really want you in my world      Step by step, oh, baby, gonna get to you, girl     Step by step, oh, baby, really want you in my world”    “You sound…WOW! You really are a great singer. I would have never guessed! Seriously, that was amazing!” He says to me after a while. OMG! was I really singing out loud?! “N-no, I’m not a good singer, please forget you heard me singe!” I say to him. I must be crimson red by now.    “So… Where did you want to go eat? Or do you just want to pick up some takeout and eat at the parc?” He asks. He must be trying to make me feel more comfortable after my singing fiasco. Am I really that comfortable around him already I started singing?!  I think to myself. “Take out sound good.” I tell him. I Don’t really want to be surrounded by strangers in a restaurant. “Any place you’d rather eat?” He asks. “Nothing too greasy, please. I don’t think my stomach could handle greasy food at this hour.” I tell him. It’s not the full truth, but it’s not a lie either. “There is an amazing burger and salad food truck not far from the parc, we can grab something there.” “Sounds perfect!” I smile at him.  Getting out of the truck, he comes around and takes my hand in his again. His hand feels so warms, so strong yet gentle. Taking our time to get to the food truck, I get a cold chill crawling up my back. What was that?! Looking around, I don’t see anything. It must be my imagination. Waiting for our order, which he didn’t let me pay for mine, he looks at me with concern in his eyes. “Are you sure a small avocado salad will be enough? Do you want a burger or chicken sandwich with it?” He’s so sweet, making I have enough to eat. He has no idea what his concern for me not being hungry means. If only he knew… “I’m good. I won’t be able to eat that much right now anyway. Thank you, this is my favorite salad.” I say, digging in it with my fork. I try to play it down as much as I can. He’s already worried enough about me with my bruises and scars. I don’t want him to know I’m not used to eating more than one and a half meal a day. If I get to eat that much without the fear of being poisoned. I’ve been able to eat a little more since my mother left. But nothing more than snaking on extra veggies and fruits. Walking toward a bench, I feel that cold shivering sensation again. There’s no wind, why would I get chills up and down my back? Looking around again, I still don’t see anything out of place.  “Are you ok? Are you feeling cold?” He asks. Not wanting to worry him for nothing, I give him a small smile. “I’m ok, not really cold. I just got a little shiver.” I don’t know how to explain this weird feeling I have been getting since we arrived like someone’s watching me or something. It’s really weird, but I don’t want my freakish mind and imagination to ruin this evening. I’m actually having fun. Lucas really is the perfect mate I could have ever been blessed with. He is so caring, thoughtful, and gentle.  “I’ve never had avocados, they look like pooped out mush,” He says, making a scrunched-up face. I start laughing out loud. “It’s really not that bad, do you want to try it?” Taking my fork and placing it toward him, he looks at me with a surprised look. He doesn’t seem too sure about trying it. Eventually, he takes the bite, looking straight into my eyes as he does, making me blush, yet again.  Dammed those sexy eyes. It makes me want to grab his shirt and… Brianna says with lust in her soft growl Down girl! We’re eating, that would be gross! I tell her. She is starting to sound like a horny dog! Shaking my head slightly, I take another bit of my salad. Looking back at Lucas, he’s got a funny smile on his face. “You’ve got something on your face. Here, let me” lifting his hand and whipping a piece of salad from the corner of my mouth, he then takes his thumb to his lips and licks whatever he just whipped from my face. Oh, Goddess, that’s hot! Brianna says panting. I can’t take my eyes off of him. Looking straight in his eyes, down to his lips and back up. I’m unsure if I should or shouldn’t make a move. He must have sensed it, because next thing I know, he’s leaning into me, kissing me gently at first. But then placing his hand at the nape of my neck supporting me and deepening the kiss. Not wasting this moment, I pace my hand on his arms for support. We kiss for what seems like hours before we stop for air. Why do we need oxygen again? Oh yeah, breathe and not pass out! Now that, that was amazing!  You can say that again. Brianna says. Again? Why am I having this chilly feeling again?! What the hell is going on?! “Ready to go to the bookstore?” He asks, pulling me out of my thoughts. “Yup, let’s go” Still looking around, but not seeing anything out of the ordinary.  What is going on with my mind today?! At the bookstore, I’m looking from row to row. I want to take every book that catches my eyes with me. Further up on a higher shelf, one book had caught my attention more than the others. Pulling my hand up, I try and reach it, but I’m just not tall enough. Suddenly, I feel a hand gently taking place at my hip, making me gasp. Feeling his warmth at my back. Lucas, stepping behind me, lifts his other hand to grab the book I was trying to reach. Keeping his face close to my neck, I can feel his warm breath on it, making me take in a sharp breath. Finally pulling it down and gently kissing me my cheekbone, making my breath hitch. I want to stay in his arms like this forever. I don’t want to leave this moment. I want time to freeze! He stays no further than an inch from me anywhere I go inside the store. I have to admit that I love it. We spend almost 2 hours at the bookstore. I could live there, I think. They’re so many books I want to read, but I settled on 5. Witch Lucas, again, didn’t let me pay. He is just so sweet. The drive back to my house felt like it was way too short. I don’t want him to go., not just yet. He walks me to my door, gently taking me in his arms before I get the chance to even consider touching the doorknob. “I had an amazing time with you tonight, Sienna.” He says while kissing my temple. “I don’t want to leave you right now, but we have school tomorrow. I don’t want you to be too tired.”  He says, pulling away slightly, brushing my hair away from my eyes, kissing me gently on the lips.  “Good night beautiful, I’ll see you tomorrow,” He tells me, giving me butterflies with the smile he’s showing me. “Good night,” I say, kissing him again in return.  Walking into the house, I close and lock the door. I place my back against the door and sight. I can keep my face from smiling. Tonight, was not a dream, right? I really just spend a few hours with Lucas, right?  If that was a dream, don’t ever let us wake up! Brianna says with enthusiasm. Smiling from ear to ear, I get ready for bed. Brushing my hair in front of my mirror. I get that chilling feeling again. Seriously, what the hell is going on tonight!? Looking out my window, I think I see a shadow moving away.  What was that? Brianna says, now on full alert. Looking again, I don’t see anything. My fears and imagination must be going haywire because I’m defying my mothers’ orders. It’s got to be it, right?
