I was so furious I could barely speak.
"You called me just to remind me of this stupid legal clause?"
For some reason, the line went dead silent at his end.
After a long beat, he spoke, his voice rough and strained, like he was forcing the words out.
"It's been ten days, Helena. Haven't you had enough time to calm down?"
That totally random, unprompted line threw me for a loop.
"The law says it's a thirty-day cooling-off period. I can't just skip the remaining twenty days. What the hell are you getting at?"
Harry suddenly snapped. "Can't you read between the lines?"
