*CRASHING INTO YOU*
*Chapter 16*
*NOELLE'S POV*
6:52pm.
I was nervous.
The table was set and everything smelled delicious.
Mom had just asked me, "Is there anything he’s allergic to?"
"No," I said quickly. "I don’t think so."
My phone buzzed.
_Ethan: At the gate._
My stomach flipped.
“He’s here,” I told Mom.
She nodded. “Okay. Be polite.”
I walked to the front door and opened it.
And there he was.
Ethan Cole.
In a black suit. No tie. Hair neat but like he’d come straight from work.
In his hands he had a bag with some tonics for Grandma.
He looked calm. Too calm.
“Noelle,” he said.
“Hi,” I replied. My voice was quiet. “Thank you for coming.”
He gave me a small nod. “Let’s do this.”
We walked in together.
Grandma was in the living room. When she saw him her face lit up.
“Welcome, welcome,” she said warmly. “You must be Ethan.”
Ethan stepped forward and greeted her, then Mom.
“Good evening, ma’am. Good evening.”
Then he held out the bag. “I brought these for you. Some tonics. For your health.”
Grandma’s eyes went wide and she clasped her hands, overjoyed.
“Oh! You’re so thoughtful. Thank you, dear.”
Mom smiled and gestured to the dining room.
“Have a seat.”
And just like that, dinner was about to begin.
