Chapter Three

Living without a mother, Henry was never happy about it. Though he became one of the most quiet person in his class.

Henry was so brilliant that no one could beat him when it comes to class activities.

His father has always been there for him, being one of the most handsome and brilliant boy in the school, Henry has been faced with the challenge of being chased by all the girls who consider themselves pretty enough to be with him,

He tried all his possible best to aviod them, yet even at the university he still faced with the same problem.

Henry was too Humble to the extent that even his list character attracts anyone around him. A gentleman to the core, who's flamboyant and Christian lifestyle kept him on the track.

He never lose focus always passionate about whatever he find himself doing. He never stopped being the member of the SU (Scripture Union) fellowship till date.

He cherished and appreciated his father for his love and care for him even at his most annoying moments. He became one of the top most brightest students in the university he always represents his College and almost all the lecturers are his friends.

It has never occurred to him to date, most times people think his gay, but only his friend Victor understands him.

He eschewed himself from excessive clubing and unecessary social activities. He's one person that enjoys his privacy but that doesn't mean his an introvert.

He has always prayed and wish that one day he will meet the woman of his dream, one who will understand, cherish and respect him not minding the situation. Henry has some female friends but each time he realises that they are around him because of his father's wealth he keeps his distance. He has always wanted that one woman who will love him just for who he is and not for wealth.

Now that he is the one managing his father's company he even find it much more difficult to find a woman that truly loves him. An adage that says one cannot run away from his shadow. Anywhere he went, he kept on meeting the gold diggers.

Samantha was his childhood friend she lived with her parents just opposite Henry's family house. Along the line after grade-school Samantha died. Somehow he things that the two women he loved ended up leaving him and maybe any woman he will fall in love with, will still not last in his life.

Death trauma and gold diggers has been his worst fear. When his father noticed that his son no longer find interest in dating he decided to help him out, by hooking him up with his business friends children.

Henry has gone through lots of arrange dates, some were arranged by his father while some were done by his friend Victor. It has never been a wonderful experience.

One day Henry left the office, on getting home he took his bath, apply his body lotion, put on his sky blue shirt and black trouser, he applied his chorus perfume; putting on his rolex wrist watch.

Looking at himself on the mirror, his side appearance got him smiling like one who is walking down the aisle. Putting on his pair of shoe, Henry turn to get his wallet from his wardrobe and immediately left for his date. On his way he had a flat tyre and now it was raining heavily, Henry was greatly surprised.

"What could have caused this now. It is barely a week I change this car tyre", Henry said, still trying to look for a way to come down from the vehicle. At this point the rain has refused to stop and Henry needed to get down and fix his car tyre. Moreover is getting late and he didn't want to keep his date waiting.

It is one hour past their agreed time and the rain didn't stop, but rather it was still drizzling. Henry hurriedly took the spare tyre and fix the broken one.

His wet and shabby looking appearance got the lady disappointed, she immediately stood up, "so this is who I have been waiting for she said furiously". 'Oh! come on, it's not what you think Henry replied'. "Please let me explain he said, explain what exactly the lady exclaimed". "Do you want to explain the fact that you kept me waiting for more than an hour now, or you want to explain the fact that you appeared here looking this shabby and water dropping down your trouser she said'. "Man you are such a pig and I won't stand here listening to whatever stupid excuses you have", she immediately turned to leave.

Henry hurriedly held her hand and tried to plead for her to hear him out. "Will you take your filthy hands off me, she said". 'Please let me explain, said Henry, explain what exactly, that's what you all men do, claiming what they are not. She said'. "Ok since you don't want to hear me out, is fine, you can go as you wish, he replied angrily". 'Yes I'm going and whosoever that plan all this, tell that stupid i***t never to contact my number again'.

She immediately left without turning back. Henry was still shocked at what just happened he left the restaurant entered his car and lay his hand on his staring. What exactly just happened? he asked himself. Though at this point he was very tired, but what could he have done, at least he tried his best. Ladies sometimes can be annoying, well I think maybe we were never meant to even have a conversation. Imagine a woman who saw me in an unusual state and couldn't wait to hear me out, what is this world turning into. The fact that she said I claim to be what I am not.

Henry was so unhappy that night. He called his friend Victor and explain the experience he had from the date which he arranged for him. Henry pleaded with him not to set him up with any more dates.
