He Did It For Me?

Chapter 3. Sienna "What do you think you are doing? Let go of me, Adams." I tried to move away from him, but his hold on me was just so tight and firm. "Please, Sienna," He held me so that I was looking directly into his eyes. " I know an apology will not cut it...." My heart thumped loudly, and I moved my head away, but he held me in place, his voice firm, but soft, " Please just listen. I know there's nothing I can say or do right now to make up for everything I did in the past, but be rest assured that I will spend the rest of my life making amends. I am deeply sorry, Sienna. You do not have to believe it but I am." Scoffing loudly, I pretended like I didn't just hear him say that. He's sorry my ass. I stared at his eyes. Those same blue shades as my sons. They both had blue eyes. I felt a lump in my throat and I forced my eyes away. I refused to be reminded of those times when we sat together in the empty classroom. Those times we just sat, even without speaking. When it was just us both. When he looked at me like I was the only thing that mattered to him. When he held me like I was a porcelain that he didn't want to ever let go of. When he told me he loved me. And when 'I' foolishly let him take my virginity. Suddenly the car began to slow down, and I wrenched my arms away from him. Thankfully, he didn't hold me back, and I quickly opened the door and stepped out. I needed to see my mother. I did not care if it was the last thing I got to do, but I needed to see her and at least apologize to her. I needed to see her awake. But the moment I stepped out of the car, I was surprised to see that we weren't at the roadside where I could get a taxi. Adams came down from the other side, and he walked over to me. "Come on. Let's go see your mother," "What?" I glared at him in confusion like he had grown two heads. "Sienna? What are you doing here!?" I whipped my head back, only to see my father, holding some packages in his hands, while he stared at me in confusion. "Mr, Adams... Is something the matter?" He gestured towards Adams. Confused, I turned fully around, realizing we were in front of a gigantic building. On it, the symbols read, 'NIKROS MEDICAL HOSPITAL. " Nikros. Nikros... My eyes widened. No way! Adams was saying something to Father, but I had long tuned them out. I grabbed the hem of my wedding dress and In a flash, I dashed into the Hospital. "Where is she? My mother, where is she?" I asked frantically, hitting my hand on a receptionist's desk. The poor lady blinked and adjusted her glasses as her gaze traveled down to my dress. "Um.. excuse me?" I shook my head, trying to gather myself, "Rose Fowler. She is my mother. I need to see her, please!" The lady's expression softened, and she called out the room number and pointed a direction to me. Thanking her quickly, I made my way to the room. And in no time, I was standing in front of it. All the adrenaline in me took a break at that moment. My hands left my dress, as I stared up at the room number. It's been 4 years. Four years of constant medication and treatment. Times without number, mother had gone into a coma, and we had to do a lot for the doctors to keep her in check while in that state. I let out a shaky breath, as I slowly pushed the door open. My eyes immediately went to the bed and rested on it. Mum was lying on the bed. I walked in, carefully, my heart thudding in my chest, as I finally stood next to the bed. "Mother," Her eyes opened, and my hand went up to my mouth, and my knees gave out. "Mom," I grabbed a hold of her hands, and squeezed them, crying harder as I noticed how warm they were now, compared to the past years. "Sienna?" She called in a low voice, and then she began to sit up. "Yes, yes. It's me, Mom. It's me. You're okay. You're awake. You are awake. Oh, thank goodness," my arms enveloped her in a hug, as I sobbed my heart out. This was a moment I had always prayed and waited desperately for. I couldn't live with the fact that I might be the cause of her not waking up ever again. I couldn't live with the fact that she gets to live this world, without asking for her mercy. I didn't want her last moment with me to be one of disappointment. I was a reckless teen, and if I could turn back time, I wouldn't have made some choices. My body shook with sobs, my cheeks stained with tears, that I didn't realize the door opened. "I am so sorry, Mother. I am so sorry, please forgive me. I...I am so happy you are fine now. I am so glad...." I choked out, unable to speak further, as I rested in her arms. Her arms tightened around me, "Shh... it's okay my love. It's okay baby, stop crying," " Ok, that's enough, Sienna. Your mother needs to rest," Father's stern voice sounded, and I slowly disengaged from her. Staring into her eyes, I was mixed with different emotions. I was ecstatic, but the tears just wouldn't stop rushing down. "You have grown so big my baby," Mother said, her eyes twinkling, and I chuckled-cried. If there was ever a word for it. "Oh," she suddenly exclaimed, "I missed your wedding, didn't I? Your father told me all about it," My mood instantly dampened, but I still managed a weak smile, " No, mother. You don't have to worry about that. I... " " Mrs. Fowler, " I snapped my head to the side, to see Adams pushing himself off a wall by the door and began to make his way to us. Father just stood by the side, watching. I could tell he was pissed, but he was doing a good job of hiding it. "Congratulations on your recovery. I am Adams Black," he reached a hand to her. I kept my gaze down but I could clearly see Mother staring up at him in confusion. She smiled softly, and asked, "Thank you. The name sounds familiar, but do I know you?" I clutched tighter at my dress, my palms digging into the stones on them. "I'm sure it does," Adams replied, and I rolled my eyes. "Your daughter and I just got married today. I am your son-in-law, Mother," Mother gasped, and then she stared at me, and then back at him, "Is that so? I heard you arranged for my treatment and all. I'm deeply grateful my dear. Thank you so much." I was left wondering just how much Dad told her. Does she know it was an arranged marriage? Either way, I couldn't possibly say anything to jeopardize her moment. She was so happy. But something kept tugging at my mind. I looked up and Adams held my gaze. His eyes were soft and shiny, drawing me in. But most of all, I could detect a trace of vulnerability in them. He had brought me here. Why? A scoff escaped my lips, at that. Was that a way he thought could make me see him in a different light? Adams began to speak to my mother, but I tuned him out, concentrating my gaze on my mother's rosy cheeks. It's been quite a while since I saw her look more alive. Right then, I felt a vibration, realizing it was from my phone which I held in my arms. It was a text message, and when I saw the recipient, a frown made its way to my face. It was a message from my babies foster parents, but before I could read the message, I heard my mother's voice. "...Sienna. She is my only daughter. Please take good care of her." I heard Mom say, and when I looked up at Adams, he had a strange look on his face. His eyes met mine again, and held my gaze for an eternity, at least that was what it felt like. His mouth opened as he replied Mother, still keeping his gaze on me, "I promise. I won't do anything to hurt her." Oh, but you already did, you fucker. But the next words from him made my brow shoot up, and my heart rate picked up. It was like a whisper, but I definitely heard him. "Because I love her."
