When I woke up that morning, the first thing I saw as I opened my eyes was the unexpected figure of Kieran looking over me. He was smiling, and I eventually noticed that he was also sitting on the bed beside me. This was new. I was confused for a few seconds as I squinted and adjusted my vision to the brightness of my room. I had no idea what time it already was, but I knew it was probably around a couple of hours just before lunch because that was when I usually wake up every day.
