A Peak in to the future

As they passed by, the torches lit up in Tony's passage and went out behind Lily. The demon took them to a very comfortable and welcoming room, deep inside the mountain. The three outsiders were amazed at the kind of technology he had in this room, everything from computers to televisions and video game consoles, and when he saw the faces of the others, Tony rushed to explain: -This is how I know how Humans live and, in the library next door, this is how I know the ways of life of other Supernatural people! -Do you live alone? - Lily asked, with a touch of concern in her voice, because she saw that in that room, the feminine touch, the one she was used to, was missing. -This is how we are created! For every demon on earth, a mountain or a saw, I am nearly 1,400 years old and I have always lived here, alone! The others watched the demon with a new face, amazement emanated from them, while the demon went to the small kitchen right next door, consisting of a small countertop, a stove, and a mini-fridge: -What do you want to drink? I have cola, orange juice, beer... -Blood? - The vampire asked, the expectation was noticed in his voice. -I don't think so! But I've got coke here, it calms the thirst a little, or so I read, somewhere! -It could be! - The boy agreed, badly consoled. -What about you girls? -An orange juice! -A beer! - The she-wolf asked. The man went to the fridge and withdrew their order. Then he threw the juice can at Lily, the Coke at Robert and hand-delivered the beer to Sam, who had approached him, and went to sit on an armchair, facing almost in front of him, towards a rushed couch and gestured to the others, so that they would follow his example: -Well... This reminds me of something! - Thony threw in the air, observing the reactions of his guests as they sat down. -What? - Lily asked, curious, sitting on the couch next to Robert, who was also curious, even anxious, to know more. Only Sam seemed to show no interest in what the Demon had to say, sitting on the arm of the couch drinking his beer, with large sips spaced out, but the position of the wolf did not dissuade the devil from proceeding: -There is an ancient prophecy, more ancient than me, delivered by a human seer... -And what do we have to do with it? - Sam interrupted abruptly. -I think it's related to us, definitely, it's related to you! Can I finish? - Asked Tony, who hated to be interrupted, a note of anger in his voice and his eyes turning red blood on fire, was enough, to shut everyone in the room. - I don't remember exactly the right words, but the general sense never left my head, because it always seemed impossible to me to materialize. -Spit it out! - Sam asked, grumpy. -Okay! Well, the prophecy speaks at a time when the Hunters are determined to extinguish the supernatural race and get some species to go extinct, with their ambushes, using magic that only they know! It is at a time like this that four elements of four different species will forge a friendship, however unlikely, will infiltrate the world of Humans and get the secret of the Hunters to then save the Supernatural Species. Tony smiled when he realized that everyone was paying attention to him, in silence, drinking his words: -Are you mocking me? In the World of Humans? The four of us? We wouldn't survive a week at all! - Robert said, breaking the silence. -Why do you say that, Robert? - Tony asked, stunned. -Rob, please call me Rob! And I say this because I know that I would never be able to control myself to that point, especially with so many sources of food close to me! -There is a way, however, that is extremely dangerous! As you must know, if in your nest they taught you something, that you can't drink the blood of a witch, that you die poisoned, with a demon is basically the same thing... - Tony paused briefly to absorb the reactions. - However, the blood of a werewolf is a source of sustenance, better than any human. Tony saw Sam open her mouth to protest, but moved two fingers, using his magic, sealed them: -But, there is a catch, it is addictive, which leads the vampire to not be able to control his thirst and, as a defense mechanism, the transformation of the werewolf will be initiated without being asked, starting with the claws and the teeth. If, as in most cases, the werewolf succeeds in injuring the vampire, the vampire will be poisoned and, if the werewolf, for lack of knowledge, does not drink the blood of the vampire who attacked him, as an antidote for the bite, the two will end up dead! -Do you think this is an idea? I drink from her, she kills me and then dies or I kill her? - Rob asked, pointing to Sam who was watching, with an eager look that supported the vampire's objections. -But did you hear anything I just said? - Tony asked, exasperated. - That only happens when neither party knows what's going to happen! If Sam is sedated and Rob controlled, there's nothing that can go wrong! -What if she makes a mistake? - Sam asked, a little furious and unbelieving. - Not that I doubt your abilities, but I don't know you anywhere, to put my life in your hands! Not only my life but the whole race of white wolves! In fact! I do not know any of you to place my species in your hands! I would not trust a deer carcass in you! - Sam growled at the end of the sentence, to give more emphasis to what she said and stood up. -You know that Lily and I could force you to stay if we wanted to! -Maybe yes, maybe no, but, even if you could do it, I would continue to resist and fight in every opportunity I had! -Well then, I think it's time to show you the consequences of your decisions! What will happen to us if any of us leave now! -What...? -Lily started asking. Tony snapped his fingers and the cave around them changed, into the bosom of a forest under the moonlight, a huge crackling fire, in the center of a circle formed by twenty people holding hands, singing a chant, in a strange language. Sam saw Lily by her side, placed her hand over her mouth and a tear flowing down her cheek and managed to identify her in the circle, a little older, or perhaps the wrinkles she saw in her eyes, would have been formed by stress and the worry of dangerous times. Everyone was frightened to hear the first print that gave rise to many others like them and quickly identified them as being gunfire. With each print that they heard a person in the circle fell, with blood marking their clothes, the other elements, still alive, hurried to hold hands with the person next to them and continued the chant, washed in tears and with a heavy look printed on their faces. When only one person was left, it was Lily who frantically sang the song, ending with a scream and a beam of white light swept around as a wave and the woman fell to the ground, dead. Next to Robert Lily whispered: -The Last Sacrifice! The image shimmered and changed, now they were in a room, dirty and moldy, two women were lying dead and Robert was standing, crying, near the women. They could see that the women had been staked. Robert, who saw, shouted, a scream full of sadness and anger, which promised revenge. From the closet, a silver stake flew straight into his heart and he fell, still with his mouth open in the scream he couldn't keep the promise he was carrying. A short woman, white skin, freckled and red-haired came out of the closet and whistled, two men, entered through the door: -Take the bodies! We need to study them! The image shimmered again and changed, now following the rhythm of a white wolf's escape through a dense forest until a net was fired, unable to tell from where and wrapped itself in the wolf, immobilizing it, hearing light steps run, breaking branches and dry leaves until they saw several hooded men. A woman came after them, with the cannon that fired the net at rest, was the same woman they had seen before, who looked at the wolf with disdain and ordered: -Sedate her! Take her away and put her in the cage! It is a beautiful specimen for our presentation to the world! And hurry up! I don't want her to have a chance to react and neither do you! Before the image changed, you watched the men sedate the wolf. Then they were already in a city, in a window building and a presentation was taking place. On top of the stage was a man and a cubic object, a little bigger than the man, covered with cloth, the man was talking to a multitude of men, women, and children: -And now, ladies and gentlemen, behold the example of what we have faced to keep your homes safe! When he had finished speaking, he made a gesture and another man removed the fabric that covered a cage. Next to Tony, they all lost their breath, when they realized that the caged figure was Sam, they had some difficulty, because she was thin, mistreated and had several bruises, her clothes were dirty and torn. The crowd booed, when they thought, that the man on stage was holding a teenager and beating her repeatedly. The man did not let himself be overwhelmed by the reaction of the crowd and as a good speaker asked for silence with a gesture, then he let slip a sarcastic smile and continued: -Don't let a beautiful face or a normal appearance deceive you! This teenager is not what she looks like! And let me prove it to you! - He asked, signaling to his helper, that he was already carrying a high-voltage shock stick in his hand. The helper smiled when he saw that he would have the opportunity, once again, to cause suffering to a once fearful creature. He got stuck and touched the rod to Sam's ribs, who cried out in agony and clung to the metal bars that formed his captivity, unconsciously initiating the transformation. The crowd shouted with fear, but they watched with curiosity the man torturing the werewolf, so they applauded them both, with a feeling of gratitude, as if they were heroes or superheroes. There were words of gratitude screaming from the audience and rotten tomatoes and eggs thrown towards the huge white bipedal wolf in the cage. The four spectators of this small event of the future, could look into the eyes of that caged Sam and found a broken soul, a dominated and hopeless will, they saw death in life. The Sam who was with them could not stand it and collapse on her knees on the ground, with her face washed in tears. The image collapsed and the cave room became their setting again, they were all shaken by the images they had seen, but no one was as shaken as Sam who had not yet risen. Lily, feeling sorry for herself, put her hand on the wolf's shoulder to console her, but she's risen as if she'd been shocked and dried her tears: -This can't happen! -Only you, only you can do something to stop it! -Only us? What about you? - asked Rob, remade from the shock. -My decision is made, all you have to do is agree with it! -How do we know that this is really the future? - Lily asked. -Well, you don't know! You have my word, but that's little, considering that you've only known me for a short time. Now decide, but think, that if you decide wrong, there is nothing and no one to save us from this fate and it will be because of you that the Supernatural Species will be extinct! Exterminated from the face of the Earth! -Okay, I'm in! - Said Sam, in a deep voice of displeasure. - When can we begin? -I am in! - said, Rob. -Me too! -Well, I think it's only safe for us to get out of here tomorrow. After all, there are hunters in the forest! -But... - Rob started. -I know, Rob! I have everything we need, here, if Sam and Lily are willing! -I can do this! - Rob assured Sam with conviction. -Okay, but watch out for those teeth! - Sam warned him. -I'll do what I can, but I think I should be the one worried! -Will we, Lily? - Tony asked, indicating where the witch should go.
