CHAPTER 3 A few streets back from the beach, off the main tourist-driven thoroughfare, was an English-style pub that served classic tavern meals. Emilia, having pulled on her shoes, led the way. Seb followed a few steps behind, hands shoved in his pockets, deep in thought. He looked troubled, but she had no intention of backing down. If she could understand why he was the way he was it might help her stubborn heart accept defeat and they could resume their easy-going friendship.
