CHAPTER 5
Rather than forewarning her best friend, Emilia wanted to surprise Stacey with her unexpected, but hopefully welcome, arrival. She and Seb had picked up a rental car at the airport and, since it was early afternoon, he’d driven her straight to Duke University.
As she walked across campus towards Stacey’s dorm building, Emilia looked around her. The last time she’d been here it had been winter, but now that it was summer the University was shown off at its absolute best. Lush green grass, fragrant flowerbeds and an abundance of trees surrounded the gorgeous old stone buildings – quite simply, it was stunning.
