He picked her up so easily and made for her house. He could perceive the smell of fire from a distance but wasn't sure of where it was coming from or what had happened. In the car, he kept on staring at Jane who was still unconscious. He drove slowly for about 5 minutes before he got to Jane's house. “ Holy crap” he cursed at him self, getting out of the car. He moved around for a while, taking pictures of every corner of the house that was still on fire. Scratching his head with his right hand and the other hand on his waist, with the camera perfectly hanged around his neck, he walked back to his car. He stared at Jane who was still sleeping, through the rolled down window for a while before entering Inside his car. Jane laid on the Passengers seat, curled up, soot- smudged, wrapped in a wool blanket that swallowed her tiny frame, cheeks streaked with dried tears and ash. Still clutching to her half-burnt stuffed bunny like her life depended on it. Mr. Cahallan drove through the town while staring at Jane from time to time. He had thought of so many things to do with her but stuck with one that will fetch him lots of money. The car rolled in slowly, headlights slicing through the dim interior of the garage. Tires crunch gently over the concrete floor, the engine humming low. Mr. Cahallan eased off the gas, carefully aligning the car between marked edges or familiar scuff lines. With a soft press of the brakes, the vehicle comes to a smooth stop. The engine is cut, leaving a brief, echoing silence before the ticking of a cooling hood fills the space. Mr. Cahallan steps out of his car with the keys in his mouth. He went opposite the driver's seat, to the passenger's seat. Carefully, he put the keys in the key hole and opened the door. Staring at Jane for a while, he patted her hair gently before picking her up. Closing the car door behind him with his legs, he walked towards his house. “Finally”. Mr. Cahallan heaved a sign of relief as he dropped Jane on the sofa in the living home. Gently, he brushed his hands past her face, putting the loose strands of hair at the back of her ear. “Who is this?” Came Mrs. Cahallan’s voice. A not so tall white woman. Almond eyes, late 40’s. Seems to be a jewelry lover as she's adorned herself with lots of them. Slim and we'll endorse, could be described as average. “Jane… Jane Maxwell… our distant neighbor's daughter” Cahallan replied while trying to dust off dirt from his shirt. “And what is she doing here? At this ungodly hour Cahallan?” Shock was written all over her face. “All her family is dead!! I happened to help her, if not she would be dead by now.” James replied while folding his arms. “Oh, poor girl” Mrs. Cahallan rushes over to where Jane laid. “ Let's keep her with us, she'd make a good daughter” she said, already sitted, rubbing Jane's back. “And what do you think will happen when she wakes up, finding two unfamiliar people in an unfamiliar place?.. use your brains, woman” came Cahallan's voice as he fell in the chair. “Then what do you suggest we do?” She asked. “We will sell her” Mrs. Cahallan gasps “to who?” She asked. “ To the woman in the slut house of course” Holding her chest like she's been stabbed with a knife, she gets up “ she's just a child, for Christ sake” “That's more reason we have to do it right now, when she knows nothing.” He retorted. “We won't be continuing with this conversation anymore” he added, not allowing room for her to speak. “Bring my food on your way out”. Amidst the tears rushing down her cheeks, she replied “okay my husband.” After what feels like forever, She walks into the room with the tray balanced carefully in her trembling hands. Her eyes are lowered, avoiding his gaze, and her breaths are shallow, as if even breathing too loud might upset him. She stares at Jane who is still sleeping and shakes her head at the thoughts of her husband selling such a cute little child to a slut house. Quietly she drops the tray on the table “ dinner is served” she muttered beneath her breath. Looking at her, he walked towards her, her head was bent when he held her shoulders. “ I'm doing what's best for us” he said and planted a kiss at the side of her cheeks. She stared at him for a while before walking to Jane. Sitting besides her, she pats her back with every emotion she could feel. Singing soft lullabies to the already sleeping Jane, she let out quiet sobs. Mr. Cahallan sat by the dining table while staring at his phone “ dear, what's the name of the guy who said we should call if we have any information for his blog?” he looked over his shoulder, asking his wife. “ummmmm, that will be Jace.”she answered, raising her hand like a nursery child answering a question. “Thank you”he replied, already dialing Jace's number. After three rings, Jace picked “Hello?” His voice sounded rough like he's been sleeping. “Good evening, this is Mr. Cahallan, from Queens town.” “Evening? It's f*****g 3:12am!!!” Jace sounded angry. “Really? So sorry about that. It's just that I have some information that no other blog has yet. I thought you might find it helpful, but no worries, I will just contact another blo….” He was interrupted by Jace. “What's the Information?” Jace sounded fully awaked now. “About a house that caught fire, burning all its residents; a full family of four” Cahallan smirked, picking up a slice of bread. “My Lord…whe…how..where did this happen?” Jace managed to ask “ How much are you willing to pay to get what you want?” Cahallan asked, staring at his wife who was staring at him after he reported Jane dead too. “How much do you want?” “Five thousand dollars” “No, two” “Four point five” “Four…final. That's all I can do” came Jace’s desperate voice. “Fine, it's a deal then. I will send you my bank details and I will send the address after I've received payments.” Cahallan said. “Hope you are not a scammer.” “Common, the bank details carry every information you need to know about me”. And with that, he ended the call. Grinning widely, he spoke staring at Jane “I'd earn a lot from that baby” Cahallan Peter 67899676487655476 909875657 Checkings Walls fello bank. He sent his details to Jace while eating. After six seconds “pppiiiiiiiiiii” his phone alarm could be heard. He opened it and saw the money alert. A smile crept on his face instantly. No. 65B, No lane street, Queens town. Get there now before it starts raining again. Nice doing business with you. He sent the text smiling like a fool who's won a lottery. He ate his food quietly this time, making sounds like the food fell from heaven. “ Thank you my love.” He stood up, went straight to his wife while cleaning his hands with a towel. Raising his lips to a pout, he kissed her on her cheeks “ good night”. He turned as though he was being controlled and went into the bedroom. Margaret sat for a while, staring at the child she never had. Caressing her cheeks, she muttered “ you'll be fine, dear”. “Come, let's take our bath.” Cahallan's voice broke through her thoughts. “On my way” she stood up, adjusting Jane's clothes as she walked to the bedroom. In the bedroom, she pulled her clothes and stood only in her underwear. Staring into her husband's eyes, she takes them off slowly, not breaking the eye communication they were having. She saw her husband for whom he really is, not the man about to sell a child to a slut house but the young man she had fallen in love with twenty years ago. Tall and masculine. His ash coloured eyes stared into hers, his moustache followed his tiny lips to curve into a mischievous smile. She looked down to see how hard he was already. “ We are too old for this.” she told him. He jerked like he'd been pushed into reality “ for what?” He asked She did not respond but quietly walked into the bathroom. Holding his hands for stability, she entered the bath tub and heaved a sign of relief as the warm water brushed her bare skin. “What are you doing there, staring like you are looking at a ghost? Come on in.” She giggled like a six year old. Without hesitation, he walks right Into the bathtub, holding her hands, he rubbed her breast. Her breast which was falling due it's size became firm. Her n*****s became hard as a moan escaped from her lips.
