Groans arise from the back of the truck.
“I can’t believe you convinced me to take them,” she sighs.
“Sorry KK… it just didn’t feel right to leave them alone there.”
“Am I in a trunk?” Zach’s voice says rising from the back.
“Nope, you’re in the backseat pretty boy,” Kate calls out.
“Great, could someone explain what’s going on,” Mason’s voice says in a confused tone.
“Long story short, you guys tried to kidnap us so you could rob a bank, but we fought back and kept you guys barely conscious, and then I convinced Kate to take you with us.”
“If we were barely conscious, how come we’re just coming to now?” Zach inquires.
“We found these rags with sleeping chemicals in your truck and used them on you,” I said happily.
“Sh*t… Zach, I told you we should’ve brought the rags with us just in case.”
“Bro I thought they would succumb to my charms.”
“No one has ever succumbed for your charms, I don’t think these two would’ve been any different.”
“Way to crush a man’s dreams.”
“Hey, hey. Both of you, shut up I’m driving here,” Kate interrupts.
“Oh, BTW you guys have handcuffs on, so I wouldn’t even think about trying to knock us out,” I added.
“So where is this ‘safe house’ of yours anyway, Kate,” Mason asks sighing.
“It wouldn’t be ‘safe’ if I told everyone where it was now would it?” she responds, glancing at him through the rear-view mirror.
