Chapter Eleven
Alice thought back to the moment when she was first recruited. It had been Miss Rachel who approached her. She had been at St Swithin’s about a week, and was feeling a little disoriented. Though most of the girls seemed pleasant enough, she hadn’t yet met anyone she could call a friend. Also, there was something about the atmosphere which disconcerted her a little. Alice was uncertain about her sexuality. To date, it had scarcely been explored at all, and such tentative steps towards a s****l encounter as she had managed to make had left her unsure about boys. So many of them seemed loud and scruffy and uncouth and, well, insensitive. She didn’t find them very appealing physically.
