"Why? Because of what happened last night?" he asked. Celine shook her head.
"No. I'm moving out for good, Aron. I think it's the best for us," she uttered.
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay. It's fine."
"I wanted to thank you for all your help back then, Aron. I will repay you soon," Celine said to him, but he shook his head while looking at her.
"No, you don't have to thank me, Celine. It's okay."
"No, I will make sure to pay you soon. I didn't want to be indebted to someone," she uttered while bowing her head.
"Alright. Do what you're comfortable with," Celine smiled at him and went inside her room. She sighed while leaning her back against the wall. It wasn't easy for her to talk and said goodbye to Aron as he was always there for her and had been so kind and good to her.
"I'm sorry, Aron. I have to go now," she said while packing her things. Celine looked at her room while letting out a deep breath. It had been her comfort zone and her safest place when she go home. She never thought that she will leave this place so soon. Her eyes went teary while her eyes roamed around the room.
The next day, Celine woke up and was ready to leave the condo. She was just waiting in the car sent by Glenda to pick her up. It was already nine-fifty in the morning, and Celine was just waiting for the driver to pick her up. She keeps looking at her wristwatch while waiting for the driver.
A car horn from outside caught her attention again. She was immediately let out of her room and peeked out of the window. A driver went out of a car and waited for her exit. Celine was in the living room when she saw Aron just coming out of his room. She looked down while carrying her belongings. Aron knew that it was time for her departure, and it saddened him to see her leave like this. He doesn't want her to go because, for him, Celine had a special space and value for his heart. He felt really sad about her departure. He didn't want to send her off like that. Aron wanted to end it in a nice way, and a proper goodbye.
"You're leaving," he said, and Celine knew that Aron was sad when she left. Celine looked at him with a smile. "Yes, I have to go now, Aron. So, take care of yourself and don't skip your meals," she uttered before she went out.
Aron just stared at her from the window as she got into the car. It hurts for him to see her leave, but he can't do anything, and he knows he has no right to stop Celine from whatever she decides. He let out a deep breath as he saw the car move slowly. His eyes were about to teared up, but Aron stopped tears coming down.
"All alone again. I don't know how to start living alone again. I think I'm used to being with her, and I'll know I will have a hard time starting again," Aron said to himself.
Celine was already in the car while looking around. She looked at the driver, but it didn't speak. "Excuse me? Where are we going?" she asked, but the driver just looked at her, and there was no answer to her question. She pouted her lips and leaned back in the chair first as she felt drowsy as they traveled. She never had been a good sleep, but while she was traveling it was the best sleep she had.
Glenda just stared at the sleeping Celine inside the car. She frowned while looking at her. They had been waking Celine for more than half an hour, but she was really sound asleep. She was also snoring while sleeping. Glenda shook her head while looking at the sleeping Celine. "How can a woman like her, sleep like this?" she asked while shooking her head while looking at Celine.
Glenda didn't think that someone like her sleep like that. She then realized how pretty Celine was up close. She smiled while staring at her, but she then remember that they had a lot of work to do before Lucas arrived home.
"Hey, Celine!" Glenda shouted softly. When she heard it, she immediately opened her eyes, and she immediately saw Glenda in front of her. Her eyes widened, and she immediately stood up from her sitting position. Her eyes while still widened while looking at Glenda.
"Ma'am," she uttered while bowing her head.
"Get out now. You have to know some manner and rules inside the house," Celine immediately went out of the car, and a large mansion opened up to her. Her mouth was open as she looked at the house in front of her.
When they start walking, Celine was more amazed at how huge the house was. She was gasping in surprise. "Woah, she's really rich," she said to while her eyes roaming around the place. As they continue to walk, Celine's amazement didn't stop. It continues in all the corners of the house.
"They're so rich indeed," she said to herself as she smiled and looked at the big house.
"Follow me," said a housemaid, and Celine nodded and followed her.
When she entered, she was even more amazed at how big their house was. She rolled her eyes and she was amazed as she saw the expensive appliances inside the house. She had never been to a place like this. It seemed like it was the very first house that she had been, and found it really huge and luxurious.
"Is this really your house?" Celine asked so Glenda stopped walking. Her brows arched while looking at her, so Celine gulped. "What do you think, Celine?" She chuckles nervously as they continue to walk. Her eyes never left any spot while looking at the every details of the house.
They climbed the stairs and were immediately stopped when they reached a room. Celine frowned as to why they stopped in front of a room. Glenda turned her back and looked at her. "This will be your room, Celine," she said, and the maid immediately opened the room which caused her mouth to open in surprise. As she stepped on the room, her mouth wide open.
Celine walked into the room in amazement. "Is this for real? This will be my room?" Glenda nodded while smiling. Celine's lips still parted in surprise while her eyes roamed around the room. She never had a huge room before, and it was the first room she had like that so big. The bed was king size, and it makes her smile broadly.
"So, you can unpack your things, and I will tell you the house rules tomorrow. You can rest for now. Welcome to my home, Celine," she uttered with a smile. Celine smiled at her, "Thank you so much, Ms. Glenda," she replied while bowing her head at her, and then tossed herself on the bed. She was smiling while spreading her arms on the bed.
"Also, you can press that button, and she will assist you whenever you need something," Glenda added. She nodded her head and smiled at the housemaid that was assigned to her.
"I'm Celine."
"Martha," she introduced herself while they reached for their hands. Celine was smiling while they were shaking their hands together.
"Nice to meet you, Martha," Celine uttered with a smile while they were shaking their hands.
"Nice to meet you too, Celine. Just press the button, and I will be there. I'll get going now," she uttered and bowed at Celine when she left.
Celine pinched herself as she thought she was daydreaming. "Woah, this is real," she uttered excitedly and went to the bed and jumped. Celine was jumping on the soft bed, she was so glad to experience such a life. It was her dream to experience living in the big house. "This is really a dream, right?" she asked herself once again, but when she pinched herself again, it hurts.
When she got tired of jumping, Celine lay down on the big bed. She let out a deep breath, "I couldn't believe I was going to live in the mansion," she started closing her eyes and falling asleep again. Because of her tirediness, Celine fell asleep again, and it was so comfy and warm.
It was time for dinner, but Celine wasn't coming down. Glenda was waiting for her, but she wasn't coming. "Martha, can you please tell her to come down now?" Martha nodded her head and went to Celine's room.
She knocked on the door three times before entering. When Martha entered, she was surprised to see Celine asleep again. "Oh no," she gently shakes her to wake her up. Martha leaned in closer to her, and whisper, "Ms. Celine, you need to wake up now," she said to her ears.
"What is it?"
"Madam Glenda is waiting for you at the dining hall. So, you better get up now," Celine opened her eyes immediately and looked at Martha.
"What? What time is it?"
"It's six o'clock, Ms. Celine," she was so surprised and fixed herself before coming down.
She was smiling while walking towards Glenda. Celine was about to sit when Glenda spoke, "You're late," she looked at her and gave her the broadest smile she had.
"I'm sorry, I was-"
"Sit now. Let's eat," she nodded and sat down.
Celine looked at the long table as they were so far from each other. She realized that they couldn't hear each other when they talked. They're on a very long table with a lot of food on it. Glenda noticed she was acting weird. Celine was still looking around the house, because all was new to her. Everything was new to her, and she had to absord everything that surround this house.
"Is there any problem, Celine?" she raised her head and looked at her.
"No," she replied with a smile.
They continued to eat, Celine finished all the dishes on her plates. "I'm done," Glenda looked at her. "You may go now," Celine stood and was about to walk when she spoke again.
"But, one more thing," Celine looked at her nervously. "Yes?"
"Don't wake up so late. I don't want that to tolerate in my house. Five in the morning, I'm expecting that you'll wake up by that time," she smiled at her.
"I will," she smiled as it was so easy for her to wake up earlier by Glenda's given time. She had been trained to get up early. So, Celine went back to her room and tossed herself on the bed. It was seven o'clock when she went out of her room. She looked around, but she was too stunned to speak and looked at the big, but a quiet house.
She sighed with disappointment. "So, this is her nighttime here in the big house, huh?" Celine asked as she was referring to Glenda. She was saddened by it, Glenda had it all. A big house, a lot of money, a handsome grandson, but she still lacks something.
Celine sighed, "She lacks happiness," she said as she was still looking around the house. Celine started to roamed around the house. She wanted to looked at the house when it's night. The silence really deafened her. It makes her to feel sad and wanted to cry in every corner.
Martha was folding clothes and was about to arrange them for Lucas's room when she saw Celine looking downstairs.
"Ms. Celine? Something you need?" she asked. Celine looked at her and noticed she was having a hard time carrying those clothes. "I can help you with that," she said to her, and Martha was surprised to hear that from her.
"No, it's fine," she said to her, but Celine insisted.
"Please, let me," Celine insisted to help her. They walked towards Lucas's room.
"Who's room is this?" Celine asked. Martha arranged the clothes as she looked at her with a smile. "It's Lucas's room. Madam's Grandson," Celine nodded and looked around.
She walked towards his desk and saw a family photo of him and his grandma. "Ma'am Glenda had been there for him all the time, right?" Martha nodded. "Yes, she was with him. All the time," she said, but the tone of her voice was different. It seemed so sad.
"How lucky of him," she uttered with a sad and low tone of voice. Martha looked at her, "Why? Did something happen-"
"No. Nevermind."
"But, why the house is quiet when it was still seven o'clock?" she asked her.
"It's always like this, Ms. Celine," she answered her.
"Really? How can it be?" she asked again.
"I don't know. We're used to it," she replied.
"Alright."
"But, you want to have some fun with us?" Martha asked her with a wide smile.
"Can I?"
"Sure, follow me," Martha started walking towards their dorm. All of the housemaids were inside a dorm inside the mansion. As they went inside, Celine's lips parted in surprise as she saw happiness and hear loud music inside. She was so happy to see them enjoying their time together.
"So, this is what I call a life," Celine uttered with a smile while looking at the dorm. Martha smiled as she looked at how happy Celine was. They continue to walked towards inside while they were smile on their faces.
"Martha? Are you crazy? Why did you bring her here?" a housemaid asked her. Martha smiled, "It's okay. She wanted to have some fun. She was all alone outside, so-"
"What is Madam will know about this?" she asked. Martha was about to speak, but Celine speak first.
"It's okay. I won't tell her," she cut her off, and they all looked at her.
"But, this dorm is only for housemaids. You don't belong here Ms. Celine. You're the bride of Sir Lucas, and we want you to-" Martha was surprised as she heard about it.
"Oh, your Sir Lucas's fiance?" she asked with surprise. Celine looked at her.
"Ah, Yes. I am," they were all surprised at what they had found.
"Ms. Celine. You're not allowed to go here. Madam will get mad at us if she finds out," Celine pouts her lips while looking at them. She then looked at Martha as she wanted to stay here with her.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Celine. I can't make your stay here. We will be in trouble if we do that. I'm so sorry," Celine smiled.
"It's okay. I'll get going now," Martha nodded while looking down. Celine went out of the dorm and went back to her room. She sighed and looked around the mansion. It feels empty inside.
As Celine went back to her room, she tossed herself on the bed and looked at the ceiling's chandelier. "What's the use of living here in the big house when it's still empty?" she said, but after saying that, she fell asleep.
The next morning the housemaids were already busy cleaning up taking care of breakfast. Each of them has a different task because of the size of the house. Celine woke up at four in the morning and woke up immediately. She went downstairs and immediately saw the busy housemates cleaning and cooking inside the house. She was frowning while looking at them. After all, all the housemates are in a hurry with what they are doing.
Celine went closer to the maid who was cooking and, "Can I do that? Can I? Let me help instead," the maid was surprised at what she said. It was their first time meeting a humble and caring woman inside the house. She was about to help her, but the maid never let her do the house chores. Everyone seemed to reject her offer to help, and it makes her confused.
"No, Ms. Celine. This is my duty, so I can do it," she uttered. Celine nodded her head while pouting her lips. She wanted to do something too, but they wouldn't let her do it. Celine wasn't used to acting this way. She wanted to help and clean the house too.
Before five o'clock in the morning, all of the chores were all done. The breakfast is ready too. As they stopped all their work, Glenda then went out of her room at exactly five o'clock. The housemaids gathered all around while bowing their heads as Glenda walk downstairs. Celine was confused about what she was about to do. She also bowed her head while waiting for Glenda to go down.
All the housemaids were, so stunned to speak while looking at what Celine was doing. Glenda stopped walking as she saw Celine bowing her head with the maids. "What are you doing here, Celine? You're not supposed to do that," she uttered, and Celine raised her head and looked at her.
"Follow me," Celine was following Glenda to the garden.
"I want you to know about the house rules and manners that I want inside my house, Celine," she uttered.
"Do I have to do that?"
"Yes."
"Okay."
"First, do not enter inside the housemaid's dorm as you are the fiancee of my grandson. I want them to respect you," Celine nodded her head.
"Second, I don't want you to be friendly with anyone inside the house. Alright," Celine frowned.
"But, why?" she asked her with narrowed and frowned.
"Third, don't ask me a question. Are we clear? All you have to say is, okay."
"Yes, okay."
"Fourth, do as I say. Am I clear?"
"Yes."
"Fifth, don't enter my room without knocking. Alright?"
"Yes."
"Lucas is coming home tomorrow. So, I want to see his reaction when he sees you here. I will tell him that I'll agree on the wedding. You have to play along with me, okay?"
"Yes, okay," she replied to everything what she had been saying.
"So, let's have breakfast now."
"But, can I say something?"
"Yes, what is it?"
"Can we have a little more fun in the evening? Or can I go out to the town? I was a little bored last night. So..."
"No. It's dangerous to go out at night. Also, Lucas and I are asleep by seven. We don't want that you're all out and give us some trouble. Okay?"
"Yes."
"Let's go. Let's eat breakfast now,"Glenda said, and she followed her towards the dinning hall. Celine couldn't do anything, but to follow the house rules. She really want to change the house rules, but she's not in the position to do so.
They went back to the dining hall. All the housemaids were looking at Celine as she was following Glenda. She was sighing as she sat down on the long table again. They could barely see each other because of how long the table are. She wanted to eat normally, and didn't want to eat on that long table. Celine realized that it was so hard and sad to live in a wealthy family.
Martha was looking at Celine. She feels that Celine is a kind and good-hearted person. She wants to be friends with her, but she knows it's against the house rules. She stared at her feet while thinking about that impossible thing to happen.
"Celine?"
"Yes?"
"I'm going to the company now. So, make yourself at home, but remember the house rules, okay?"
"Yes."
"Martha?"
"Yes, Madam?"
"Assist and help Celine what she wanted to do, understand?"
"I will, Madam," she replied, and Celine looked at her with a smile and a wink.
After Glenda leave, Celine looked at Martha. She also heard the crumbles of her stomach. "Eat," Martha's eyes widened while looking at her.
"What?"
"Eat. Come and join me," she uttered to her. Martha shook her head as she didn't want to. They never sat on that long table before.
Celine sighed and grabbed her to the chair. "See, it wasn't so hard for you to eat with me. I don't want to eat alone, Martha. So, enjoy the food and don't worry. I got your back," she uttered to Martha. Celine was having a fun time with Martha on the dinning table. Martha was also happy about that, even though they both know the house rules. Celine and Martha keeps disobeying the rules.
Martha was smiling as she was eating with Celine. Someone saw them and took a picture of them. It was one of the housemaids that took the picture as she feels jealous of Martha. All the good benefits Martha had. She's jealous of her and wanted to replace her position and let her leave the mansion.
After the meal, Celine was walking with Martha to the garden. Martha had been having a good time with Celine as she wasn't so bad and difficult to blend in to. She's too friendly towards all the workers inside the mansion.
"Mister," she smiled as she waved her hands to the gardener. The gardener smiled as Celine and Martha went closer to him. "How are you?" she asked him.
"I'm okay, Ms."
"By the way, this is Mr. Antonio, the best gardener in the mansion. Mr. Antonio, this is Ms. Celine, Sir Lucas's fiancee," Martha introduces them to each other.
"My apology, Ms. Celine," he said, and bowed his head to her.
"You don't have to bow to me, Mr. Antonio," she said.
"But, we have to, Mam. Again, my apologies," he uttered.
"It's okay. But, can I do that too?" both Antonio and Martha looked at each other with widened eyes.
"What? What did you say?"
"Ah, can I do that?" she asked again.
"Ah, I'm sorry. Ms. Celine, but Madam Glenda won't allow you. I'm sorry, I might be in trouble if I let you do this,"
"But, why?"
"As Sir Lucas's fiancee. You don't have to do anything. We, workers of the house must be responsible for the chores inside the house," Antonio said to her.
"But, I want to try too," she said while pouting her lips.
Celine really wanted to do something to make herself busy, and to kill time while Glenda isn't around. She wanted to do eveything that she wanted, but it seemed like they never let her do what she wanted to do. Celine looked at him while pouting her lips. "I really wanted to do it," she said, but Mr. Antonio shook his head while looking at her.
Martha looked at her while laughing. "What are you doing, Ms. Celine?"
"What?"
"Why are you pouting your lips like that?"
"Why? Is it that bad?"
"No. It wasn't."
"Then, why are you laughing at me?"
"I just find it so funny to look at," Martha said and laughed while looking at her. Celine continue to pout and it makes Martha to laughed even more, and so does Mr. Antonio too. They were both laughing at the garden, and it was the first time they laughed so hard like that, and it was because of Celine.
They never thought that someone like her can do that to them. "Mr. Antonio, you're laughing so hard too," Martha uttered, and Mr. Antonio looked at Celine.
"I never thought I could laugh like that, Ms. Celine. Thank you for making us laugh," he said.
"It's my pleasure, Mr. Antonio," she said to him.
"It's really good that someone like you, are here. Mr. Lucas is really lucky to have you," he said, but Celine remember how cold and jerk Lucas' attitude was.
Celine then looked at him again, "Mr. Antonio?"
"Yes?"
"Can I do that now?" she begged.
Martha chuckled while looking at her. "Ms. Celine, don't pressure, Mr. Antonio. He really love his job, so we-"
"I'm sorry, we're just following the house rules, Ms. Celine."
To be continued...
