CHAPTER 7 Like most nights, the Duma Inn hummed with voices. The patrons gathered around in huddled groups, clutching tankards of beer, while laughter carried on the air. But as Kaspian entered, the voices hushed and all eyes turned toward him. These weren’t the same sort of hostile gazes he’d experienced the last time he’d made his way here, but it wasn’t exactly welcoming either. If Mama knew he was here, she would surely scold him; lords didn’t come amongst their people and mingle like this, or so she said.
