CHAPTER 18 Henryk rushed toward Kaspian, sword raised for a crown strike. Kaspian leaped backward to dodge his attack, but the flames on either side penned him in. The heat licked at his side as he dodged another swing of Henryk’s blade. When they’d been boys, they’d often sparred together. Never had Kaspian won against Henryk. Not even once. A voice inside of him was screaming at him to run, to save his own life. But he could run no more. He’d have to fight not just the man before him, but the memory, the mountain of a figure he’d once looked up to, who had bested him at everything. But he wasn’t that little boy anymore.
