2: Let's Talk

1289 Words
I furrowed my eyebrows at Denver. How the hell didn't he inform me he was going to teach in my School? We hadn't seen each other in two months, only for him to return to start teaching in my school?! "That's Denver!" Ren whisper-yelled. Like I didn't know already. "I know, I'm not blind." I rolled my eyes at her, earning a glare from her. Denver cleared his throat, regaining his composure. "Good morning, class." He greeted, averting his attention from me. "I'm Denver Crosby, your new Science teacher." He introduced. "Wow, he's so hot." I turned my neck to my side to peer at two random girls whose eyes were glistening with admiration for MY BOYFRIEND. Common, that's my baby's father, bitches. I decided to ignore them and focused my gaze in front of me, just in time to lock my eyes with Denver's who immediately took his eyes away from me. I left out a deep exhalation. Calm down, I'll talk to him after today's classes. I thought to myself then took out my book, ready to pay attention to what he had to teach rather than himself. *** The school bell rang for the close of the last class. I sighed gratefully. "See you all in the next class." Mrs Jones said, walking out of the class. I rose to my feet and gathered my books into my bag. "Jeez, I'm so tired." Ren rose to her feet as well, grasped the handle of her bag, with a loud yawn. "Gosh, Mr Crosby is 'so' hot!" A lady behind me said, emphasizing on 'so'. "I totally agree with you!" Another exclaimed. "His name alone sets fire in me. I wish I could just…" their voices slowly faded from my hearing. "Stupid much?" I hissed, hung my bag's straps over my shoulders. "You can't blame them." Ren chortled, giving my shoulder a poke. "Yeah, I agree with you." I sighed again and began walking out of class with Ren beside me. "So… what do you have in mind?" She questioned. "I'm going to talk to him." I stated. "Now?" She raised an eyebrow at me. "Of course. Sage will be driving me home today, you coming along?" "Ugh…" she squared her shoulders. "I don't know." I let out a chuckle. "She won't bite, just wait by her car for me. I'll be with you as soon as possible." "Fine." She sighed in defeat. "I hope she doesn't kill me with boy talks, again." She snorted. "Whatever, just wait for me." I pushed her shoulder gently then we separated. Since Mr Sam didn't stay in the staff room with other teachers, Denver was probably not going to be as well so I ambled to Mr Sam's office, hoping for that to be Denver's office. I stopped right in front of the door then gave it a slight knock. "Come in." He replied grouchily, startling me a bit. I turned the door handle then pushed it in, shoving myself into the room then shut the door behind me. Denver's river blue eyes widened when he noticed my presence. "Tris!" His frown transformed to a grin. He rose to his feet as I approached him, stopping right in front of him. "Why?" I folded my arms across my chest with a frown glued to my face. "Why are you suddenly working here? And most importantly, why didn't you let me know this?!" I snapped, trying my best not to raise my voice at him. "Tris, you haven't seen me in 2 months, yet you greet me this way?" He clicked his tongue, shaking his head at me. "Now that's bad." I ignored his complaint, still glaring at him. "I deserve an explanation." "Fine, fine. I didn't know you attend Hilltown High School. I just love this school and I love teaching so I applied for a job here since they needed a new Science teacher, and I got the job." He shoved his hands into his front pockets. I narrowed my eyes at him suspiciously. "I swear." He added. I let out another sigh. "I'm sorry for being grumpy. It's just… isn't it f*******n or something to be in a romantic relationship with your student?" "Oh, you bet it is. I was told over and over again to not be in a romantic relationship with ANY of my students, else there'll be grave consequences." He stated seriously. "Ow…" I moaned. "What do we do now?" "Well… we'll keep it a secret from everyone. Don't tell any of your friends, okay? I love this job so much and can't bear to lose it." "I won't, but Ren knows." "Ren?" He arched an eyebrow at me. "One of my best friends, duh. You've seen her multiple times." I rolled my eyes at his cluelessness. "Really? She isn't a blabbermouth, is she?" "No. Ren wouldn't dare say it to anyone, I trust her. She isn't Sage, I won't tell Sage." I grinned. "Oh, okay." He nodded. We didn't say anything for a few seconds. He seemed to be thinking things through and I was thinking of how terrible things would go if I blurted things out to Sage. I flinched when I felt his arm curl around my waist, pulling me closer to his chest. "I missed you, little pumpkin." He chuckled. "I missed you too. I'm not little anymore." I rolled my eyes at him. He knew how much I hated it when he used to refer to me as a child though I had the maturity of a 30-year-old. Don't blame me; I had been exposed to a lot of things I ought not to. "Of course you're not." He stared down at my body. "You look different within two months. You're growing so fast." "I know." I smiled sheepishly at him, held the back of his head, stood on my tip toes while he lowered his head to connect our lips into a passionate kiss. The kiss sent spark throughout my entire body, sparks I couldn't dare to define. I only realized how much I missed him. He made me feel on top of the world, making him the best and most protective boyfriend I could ever ask for. We finally broke apart from the kiss. "So… we should act like total strangers around the school and wouldn't be together in places in this area. We'll have dates and stuff somewhere far away." He said. "Gosh, it seems like so much work." I grumbled, gripping onto my bag's straps. "It isn't." He nudged my shoulder. "It's just till you graduate." "Isn't that like a billion years away?" I exclaimed, palming my face. "Jeez, that's terrible." "It's not. Tris, it's just for a short period." "Oh, really? A short period," I replied sarcastically but said the next words seriously, "Then we'll get married and give Aeryn a good future?" He chortled. "Yes. By the way, I'm coming over tonight. Ensure no one comes to pay you a visit. I miss Ivy so bad." He sat on his table, crossing his legs. "Don't tell her I'm back, I want to surprise her." He smirked. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'll get going now, my friends are waiting for me. Jayana isn't coming to pick me up so…" I trailed off. "Okay, see you tonight." He smiled. I gave him a peck on the lips then turned around to leave. *** A/N: Thanks for reading! Don't be a silent reader. Comment! Comment!
