Willow’s Choice

Chapter One:

I just started a new job in a cafe in a small town about 50 miles from the main city in California, i came here to start a new beginning and after a nasty break up this was a perfect new start. I just got done with my shift and some of the girls ask what i was going to do this weekend i respond “i dont know why” Shelley opens her mouth “come out with us and have some fun”, “i think about it and let you know” just as i open the door i bump into someone and i said “ i am so sorry” when i looked up at the person i bumped into i get lost in his most amazing blue eyes. Shelley speaks “ you okay” i look away from those blues eyes and said “yeah Shelley i am, see you tomorrow” i tell the blue eye man “sorry, excuse me” he says “its ok, bye” and i walked out, i go about 3 blocks and i get in front of my apartment complex and i walked in and jerry yells “hey WILLOW baby, wanna go see a movie” i looked at him and said “hey jerry NEVER call me baby and no, i am tired you ask kimber to go with you” he says “she slam her door in my face” i laugh at him and said “then go alone or go to the club like you always do in the city” he gives me the look and i give him one right back. I said “cya have fun” then i walk into my apartment and closed and lock the door. I take my shoes off and jacket and put my bag on the chair and headed to the bedroom put on some comfy clothes went into the kitchen grab my turkey sandwich, chips and cookies and soda. I put them all on the coffee table and turn on the tv and started watching my favorite show. I watch about 5 shows and looked at the clock and it said 9:30pm i get up put my trash into the trash can and went into my bedroom. I get into the bed and i turn off the light. i close my eyes and i have that man picture in my head and his amazing blue eyes. I open my eyes and get out of bed and head out of my room and into the living room and walked out to the balcony. I lean on the railing and looked at the half moon and i say “why can i not get this man out of my head,”, it’s driving me crazy, i look back at the moon and think to myself this is crazy I’m talking to the sky and a moon. Like the moon is going to talk back to me anyways. I look at it for a few more minutes and i start to yawn and said “good night moon” and walked back in and into my room and into my bed and the minute i lay my head down i fell soundly sleep. I wake up the next day to my alarm going off. I sigh and grr and roll over and turn the alarm off. I get out of bed and head into the bathroom for a nice hot shower. Once i finished i wrap myself with a towel and head into my room i open my closet and grab my uniform for work and got ready i head to the vanity and do my make up and hair. I look at the time and i still have an hour to be at the cafe so i get up and walk out of my room to the living room and a knock is on my door. I walk over and look through the peep hole and its jerry i said “jerry what do you want” he says “baby, let me in i got something to tell you” i said “what did i say by calling me baby” i swing my door open almost making jerry fall in and i punch him in the shoulder hard and he says “ouch!!! Willow thats not nice” i said “thats what you get for calling me baby, now what is so important you need to tell me” he says “ i went to the club after you rejected my invite to the movies and i saw some buff guys come in, i have never seen them before, i thought hmm maybe you may like and go check it out tonight” i said “why would i want some arrogant, asshole, jerk to hook up with” he looks at me funny and i said “no, sorry i am not interested” jerry says “well then come out tonight its your Friday anyways” i said “sorry got plans with the girls at work, have fun though and please dont call me baby again” he says “no prob sugar cya” and walk away i also yelled out “dont call me that either” and i closed my door and saw the time i still have 30 min. Until work. I head into the kitchen and make myself a bagel and coffee and sit at the table and ate my breakfast i clean my cup and plate and put it in the dishwasher and grab my jacket and bag and walked out of my place and locked the door. Once i walked out of the complex i get a funny feeling someone is watching me so i look around and see no one. So i started walking my 10 minutes to work and once i open the door the girls said “so your coming” i said “yup, to get away from jerry” they both laugh and said “he is harmless” i said “i know but he can be one annoying person” Shelley says “ he has always been like that” i said “i guess i be alittle easier on him, then he is very energetic” Lori says “yeah, he is, lets do something nice for him on Sunday and maybe he feel more welcome, then he wont bug you as much” i said “sounds good, i believe we will see him tonight anyways, and if we do i be nice” they smiled and i said “lets get to work”. They nodded and i walk to the back to put my stuff away and i get to the front to take the next person order, there he was, standing there looking at me and i look back at him and i said “what would you like” he says “coffee black, and a croissant” i said “okay, take a seat and i bring it right to you” he hands me the cash and i give him his change and he heads to the table by the window and i make his coffee and grab the croissant. I walked to his table and placed it down and i said “enjoy” as i turn he says “thank you, would you like to have coffee some time” i said “sorry i would like to but i am not interested” i walk away and i hear a small growl and i look back at him and he starts drinking his coffee. I shake my head and Shelley walks over after i get back to the counter and said “why did you refuse his offer”. I said “what, how do you know he asked me out” she says “come on, we all heard it” i said “well i am not interested in dating yet, i just had a bad break up 4 months ago” Lori says “its understandable and maybe when he ask again you say yes, it’s just coffee and plus you can have it here if you are uncomfortable” i said “your right, when he ask again ill take it but now lets not talk about it anymore” Shelley and Lori nods and i go to the next customer that walks in and when i looked up jerry gives me a big smile and says “so change your mind” i said “i told you, I’m going out with the girls” and he looks at Lori and Shelley and they said “she is right and its girls only” he pouts and says “well then sugar you owe me a movie night” i hear a growl again and i said “jerry dont call me sugar and how about me and Shelley and Lori take you to lunch on Sunday” he gets a big smile and he says “deal, later sugar” i grit my teeth and i turn to the girls and they laugh and said “thats the first, never heard him say sugar” i said “it’s annoying i will have to punch his other arm later” we all started laughing. The day went by quick and its about closing time. I finish the last customer and Shelley locks the door and put the close sign up and i head to the back and grab my bag and jacket and Lori grabs my arm and we walk out the back and Shelley locks the back door and we head to there place. The drive to there place is about 20 minutes and when we arrive its a cute little house. I get out and they do the same and we head inside. I said “so what is the plan tonight” Lori says “my room now” i said “ok” and i went into her room and she pulls out a sexy black cocktail dress and i said “are you sure I should wear this” she say “yes, you will look sexy as hell” i shrug and took the dress and went into the bathroom and put it on. i walk out of the bathroom and they both said “oh damn that is looking goood on you” i blush and said “ whats next” Shelley goes into her room and grab me a pair of flats and gives them to me and then Lori take me back to her room and does my hair and make. I walk out and Shelley is already ready and i said “damn, red is hot on you” she says “i know thats the purpose” then i turn and Lori walks out in a silver short dress all doll up and i said “looks like we be the center of the attention tonight” and we walked out of there house and in the car and back into town for some fun. We arrived at the bar and i said “really girls, the bar” they said “you havent seen the whole place” i said “ok, lets go then”. We get out of the car and we walk into the bar its a normal busy and i said “where to” the girls started walking towards a door and open it. I walk behind them and we went down some stairs and into another door and once we enter it was a complete different section. I was like “holy, this looks awesome” they said “yeah, not a lot of people know about it” i said “well i am glad i did come out with you guys tonight” Shelley says “now your a local so it was time to show you all the cool things this place shows” i smiled and we walked to a booth table. It looked like a high end club that would be in the city, but way better. Once we sit we all order drinks, i said “it looks alittle dead right now” Lori says “people will start showing up soon, we are early” i said “its 11pm isn’t early” Shelley says “11pm for this place is early, just sit back and enjoy the quietness” i said “ok” i take a sip from my drink and i got up i said “lets dance girls” they smiled and got up we get the dj to play some songs and we started dancing. About an hour goes by i said “lets go rest our feet and finish our drinks”, we walked to our table and the waitress put fresh drinks there. We sit and talked and had a great time we got a few guys asking to dance i said “no” but Shelley and Lori didn’t refuse. I sit there and watch them have fun out there and thought “damn should of taken one of the guys offer” then someone sits across from me. I look over and that blue eye man looks at me and my heart starts beating fast and hard. I dont know why this guy has an effect on me and just as i was about to open my mouth, Shelley and Lori come back to the table and Shelley says “hey Blake, what do we have the honor of you being at our table” he smiles at shelley then back to me. She says “oh ok, how about stop being mute and just ask her then” i said “ask me what” shelley says “he wants a dance” i look at him and i said “is that true” he smiled and says “may i ask you for a dance” i blush and i said “sure” i get out of the booth and he does the same and the girls says “have fun” i look at them with a questionable look and they smiled and wink at me. I get to the dance floor and they play a slow song. I’m like wtf why now, i was ready for something fast. So the blue eye man hold out his hand and i take it and we start dancing. I said “you don’t talk very much do you” he says “i do, but i like to think over what i want to say then just saying it” i said “thats good, i am bad at just spilling out what i want to say” he smiles and said “thats fine, and its cute actually” i said “really”. He nods and we finish the slow dance and they put more of a fast beat on and i pull out my moves, i watch him dance with me and he is really good. We go for awhile until i said “time for a drink” he says “alright want to hit the bar” i said “sure” i look over at the girls they have nothing but approval of it. I smile back at them and walk with the guy to the bar. He orders a scotch and i order a Long Island. Once the bar tender comes to us with our drinks, he pays him. I said “i could of paid for that” he syas “never let a lady buy her own drink, if they are being offered by a guy” i blush at his words and said “what a gentleman” he smiles and said “tell me alittle about yourself” i said “lets get a table” he walks to a corner table and we sit down and i said “well i am from the big city” he says “then why are you not still there” i said “normally i dont tell anyone until the third date but i feel you wouldnt judge me” he says “i wont and your right, i shouldnt poke into your life” i said “thats okay, i am not living there anymore because my ex of 6 years has been cheating one me since day one apparently, so i broke up with him and left town, and came here for a new beginning” he says “I’m sorry to hear this, a beautiful woman like you shouldnt have that happen, if i was him i would never let you go, you be my life, my light, my queen” i blush again and said “ok charming” he laughs and said “i am no charming, so just speaking the truth” i said “bonus point for you, honesty is a big thing for me” he smiles and said “anything you want to ask me” i said “where you from” he says “from here born and raised 20 minutes out from here” i said “oh, thats great, i have been here for a month and why am i just seeing you” he says “i been busy with my company and finally decided it was time to take a mini vacation”. I looked at him and all i feel is honesty and i said “thats great, what is your company base on” he says “i do a lot of trades, construction, business, pretty much everything” i said “sounds like Miller enterprises” he says “exact one” my eyes go big and i said “really, your the CEO of Miller Enterprise” he says “if i said yes, will you end up not talking to me no more” i said “no, just a small world” his eye brow rises and i said “my ex works for you company and he is pretty high in your latter” he says “who is it” i said “you will not get that out of me, and plus i ended it anyways, its under the bridge, so lets move on” he looks into my eyes and he says “okay, i wont poke anymore so tell me what do you like to do” i said “i like the beach, long drives, hanging with friends, and enjoy watching a movie at home on a comfy couch” i said “how about you” he says “i like working out, swimming, running, work” i roll my eyes at that last one and he says what” i said “nothing” Shelley and Lori come over and speaks “its time to go” i look at them “already” they said “honey its 3am” i give them a shock look, “what, really it was just midnight” they laugh, “yeah you been over here for the past 3 hours” i said “that went by fast” i looked at the blue eye man and say “time to head out i guess, cya later?” he smiles “if you want me to be” i blush and i get up and said “thank you for the dance and drink and chat, i enjoy it” he says “i enjoy the company also” i wave him bye for now, he winks at me and i walk away with my friends and back up stairs and out the door. “i cant believe i ignore you guys the whole time” they look at me “no big deal we had fun, a few guys came over and join us and we had fun” Lori says “plus looked like you where enjoying talking to that handsome man” i look at them both, “you addressed him by his name” they nodded, “you know him?” Shelley says “yeah, he comes in the cafe all the time” i think on asking them until my mouth did it for me “what is his name” they look at each other “Blake” i say “okay great now i know his name.” We get to Shelley’s car and we get in and she starts it up and we head over to my apartment and once we get to the front door i say “ thanks for taking me out tonight it was a blast, i will get your dress back to you” Shelley says “keep it, it looks better on you then me anyways” i said “oh, well then thank you.” She says “anything for our best friend” i smiled and i said “good night girls and drive safe home ok” they said “we will, see you tomorrow okay” i said “i am off for the next two days” they said “we know we are too” i said “i thought one of you are working tomorrow” they said “boss hire a few new ppl, so she needs to work out the schedule, so we are off also” i said “thats great, cya tomorrow” i close the door and she honks her horn for goodbye and i wave and went in and i hear jerry said “hey babe, you owe me, ready to watch some movies’ I said “shouldn’t you be in bed sleeping, and no i am going to bed” he looks at me with puppy eyes i said “oh yeah come here” he walks to me and i punch him hard in the other shoulder. He says “ i should have you arrested for abuse” i said “yeah, i tell them you are harassing me calling all kinds of word” he says “fine, good night” i said “hey jerry, call me babe again or sugar i make sure it be 10x harder” “whatever” and went back to his apartment. I unlock mine and open the door and went in i close it and lock it and i put my purse on the chair and jacket and headed to my bedroom to change. once i finish i walk out of the room to the balcony and sat in one of my chairs and lay my head back and look up to the moon and “so are you telling me something, sending that blue eye man my way?” Of course it doesn’t reply its only a moon. i sigh and said goodnight to the universe. Walk back into my apartment and close the sliding door and headed into my room and got into bed and went to sleep. I wake up with my phone going off and i roll over and grab my phone. i turn it on and i have many txt’s from Shelley and Lori. they asking if i want to head to the beach. i reply sure let me get ready and i be down in 30. They reply, we be there soon then. i put my phone down and head to my bathroom and took a shower and wash myself. i get out of the shower and wrap myself in a towel and head into my room i get my bikini out and a tank and short and sandals. I get them on and headed to my vanity and did my hair in a messy bun and put little eye liner on. I get up and headed out of the room and to my door grab my keys and bag and walked out of my apartment and locked the door i look around and there was no jerry. thank god. I walk to the front door and as i walked out Shelley just pulled up. i get into the car and said “perfect timing” she says “yeah, now lets go have fun in the sun” i said “lets do this”. She puts it in gear and we drove to the beach. We get to the beach and its pretty decent amount of ppl. We find a perfect spot and i lay my towel down and the girls put an umbrella up for shade and we all sit down i pull out water and they did the same out of there bags. We lay on our towels and enjoy the day in the sun. After a day in the sun i sit up and said “I’m feeling hungry” they said us too” i said “lets get dress and head to the diner for something to eat” they nodded and we packed up and got dressed and headed to the car. we put everything in the car and got in and drove to the diner. As we pulled up, i see Blake again i said “whats with Blake, it seems i see him everywhere” Lori says “oh, he is always everywhere and plus people got to eat right. i said “right, lets go then” we all get out of the car. we headed in and walked to our booth and the waitress showed up with water and i said “a coke” and the girls order there drinks. We go over what we want to eat and Blake says “hey girls how are you doing today” they said “fine Blake how are you” he says “great, enjoying the day” he looks at me and said “how are you” i said “I’m great”, then he says “would you like to go to a movie or dinner with me tonight” i look at the girls and they nod there heads i look back at Blake and said “sure” he says “great i pick you up at 7” i said “ok, i am at 21134 costal ave, apt 4” he nods and walks away. I said “wow, a date already” they said “you must of made a good impression on him” i said “i guess so”, we order our food and enjoy talking and eating and once we finish we pay the bill and headed out
