As soon as she got back from lunch, Julie asked August to go home alone after work. She would have lunch with Amanda and talk 'girl stuff'. He understood perfectly well what they were going to talk about, since Amanda had had a date the night before. Stopping to think about it, August reflected that it was good if the relationship between his receptionist and Ricardo Nova worked out, especially since Amanda was now a friend of his wife: his company would benefit from it.
After he and Julie had that little date before they started work this morning, August was much more relaxed. In fact, he wanted her to be on his side at all times. Knowing they wouldn't be coming home together made him feel sad, but he knew she would get home at some point and then she would be all his.
