“I lied to make you feel envious. I just wanted to pick a fight with you,” she closed her eyes, looking upwards.
“I know you must be wondering why am I telling you this but I thought I should clear things with you. Because of my foolishness, I spoke so badly with you even though you never retorted,” Lizzie bowed her head.
“That’s fine but Lizzie, I told you that there is nothing between Asher and me. So if it's because of me.”
“No, I didn't leave him because of you or anyone else. I did it for myself. I realized that he would never look at me the way he looks at you,” Lizzie said, surprising me.
So I sat in front of her without any questions. I don't think Asher looks at me with his special gaze. It's the same as he looks at others.
