Aurora’s POV
“Looking horrible,” Maze commented, pulling my hair as I stepped out of the car.
“Why do you always like to trouble me?” I blinked my lashes, tying my hair in the bun but failed miserably as Maze took my pins and smirked.
“It is nice, from where did you steal this?” She asked, throwing over the floor, keeping her heels over it.
I closed my eyes and bowed my head. “Can we go inside?”
It's no use in fighting with her as I know if I do so, her friends and boyfriend would trouble me, so I have to bear everything but it's only for a month. Once I get the job, I am going to walk away from all these miseries.
“Why not? But I hope you remember our deal? You would follow me like a dog otherwise Macey, your friend would dance on my tones,” Maze dangerously mumbled as I hummed gulping my tears.
Maze walked ahead, throwing her handbag at me, and signaled me to follow her. I had to follow her even though I didn't want to.
It is all for Marcus and Macey.
Some minutes later, getting a chance, I moved away from Maze and sat in a corner, holding a mojito as Maze was busy drinking with her friends.
While I was praying in my mind that they wouldn't notice me. So I can't become their target.
But where is Marcus? Wasn't he supposed to come to the party? Perhaps he got some work. I sighed and looked for Macey.
“You came,” Macey’s voice brought a smile over my lips. I turned towards her and smiled at her as she was looking beautiful in a red knee-length dress along with a lovely chain on her neck. She paired it with red heels.
“Yes, I thought not to miss this day,” I said, shrugging nonchalantly as Macey sat in front of me.
“Glad! Otherwise, I thought I would be bored alone but why are you wearing this boring plane gown? Where is your ravishing dress?” Macey arched her brows as I looked towards Maze.
“Again? Why don't you say anything to her?” Macey muttered through her gritted teeth. “I am weak but you are not. You can fight with her.”
Macey Wang is an Algerian-American. Her ancestors were from Algeria however, her father settled in America and married an American woman. The different thing is that they got divorced within a year and Macey’s custody went to her mother. However, Macey's mother is an alcoholic, so she never cared about Macey. She always ill-treated her as a result, Macey became physically as well as mentally weak.
“Leave it,” I mumbled. “That dress is looking good on her. Moreover, I didn't like it much.”
“Yeah, tell me more untruth. I bet she played against you and got your dress. Moreover, I remember how happy you were while purchasing the dress,” Macey chuckled sadly as I turned my face to the opposite side, wiping my tears.
“But Aura,” Macey sighed.
“We both know we can't do anything about her, so why should I even waste my time,” I interrupted as Macey got disappointed.
“I wish I could at least do something about her but sadly I can't even dare to look at her all thanks to my timid nature,” Macey frowned as I kept my hands over her shoulder.
“We should enjoy it moreover if they come here, we are going to be in a huge mess,” I said, shaking my head.
“True,” Macey chuckled, picking tequila and winking. “Let’s drink this.”
“Shut up! I am not going to get drunk moreover after going to the I have to prepare for the job's interview,” I said as Macey's making faces.
“Yes, you and your job,” she sighed. “Hang on! Did you see Asher Patrick's press conference? Gosh! He was looking too charming. Imagine if you got a job in his company, how you would control yourself.”
“First of all, I plan to work in his company as his assistant, and second, I didn't see his interviews as if I do so, I am going to lose my confidence and third the most important, I have a boyfriend on whom I would never cheat.”
“Aura, I don't think Marcus is a good guy. I have seen him flirting with different girls. You should be cautious,” Macey said with concern as I kept my hands over her hands and said, “I trust Marcus. He is not going to hurt me.”
Macey sighed and hummed, sipping her drink as we talked about this topic for the umpteenth time. In the end, I always end up taking Marcus' side.
So we both have decided we won't comment on each other's dating life.
Marcus Melvin, twenty years old blonde guy. He has the sexiest smile and his iris is shining black that is enough to make my heart flutter. We have been in a relationship for three years but he never forced me to do anything. He is a caring and loving boyfriend.
“Macey-yy, my darling,” Maze came towards us, tumbling, and holding a wine glass in her hand.
“Devil,” Macey muttered as I frowned. “I should at least try to gather myself.”
No, if you do so, they are going to get furious.
“Why are you here?” Macey asked. “We were talking about something, so please leave us else I would complain.”
“Someone got wings, Maze,” Julia said, pulling Macey's hair.
Julia is Maze's friend but I can say that more than a friend, she is Maze’s blind follower.
Macey tried to get away, however, Maze's other friend kept her hand over Macey’s shoulder.
“Entertain us,” Julia scoffed, winking and taking a seat after pushing Macey.
“We got bored after seeing junior's dance, so Macey you should dance for us,” she laughed while pouring wine over Macey's dress.
“I don't know-w,” Macey stammered as I tried to stand but Julia kept her hand over my shoulder and negatively shook her head.
I looked around to get help from others but all were enjoying Macey's humiliation.
“Please,” I muttered with tears in my eyes.
Macey struggled to stand however Julia kept her over Macey's hand and laughed saying, “Why don't you dance like this only?”
“Maze, you told me you won't bother my friend if I come to the party. Please ask your friends to stop this,” I intervened standing and hugging Macey who withered in the pain. Her eyes got filled with tears while her face became pale.
“Aurora, you are here. I was looking for you for so long,” Maze said, showing her teeth to me and then falling over me and as a result, her wine fell over my dress.
“What the f**k? Are you going to be the boss around me?” I said, standing and looking at my dress frowning.
“s**t! It fell on you,” Maze blinked her lashes and then looked at me with a smirk, “But my cute sister, I never keep my promises.”
“But,” I attempted to speak, however, she poured tequila over my hair.
“You are looking like a joker,” she laughed, patting my cheeks.
“Either you or Macey would dance,” Maze grinned. “Otherwise I am going to pour the drink in her mouth and then she has to kiss you.”
I looked at Macey who negatively shook her head. Julia removed her heels and shrugged her shoulders taking a seat whilst Macey stood and looked at her hand that was swollen.
“Hey, bitches, what are you both doing? Dance else.”
“I would do so but let Macey go away. She needs medical care,” I looked at Macey who was whining badly.
“No.”
“It is okay! I can handle this as I am used to this humiliation. You should look after yourself moreover you can get some help for me,” I muttered in her ears, fondling her cheeks.
“Gosh! So much love. Please kiss each other, you lesbians,” Julia commented laughing.
Macey looked at me and then Maze and her friends. She ran from there mumbling, “I am sorry.”
Maze held my hand and pushed me backward. I closed my eyes, stumbling, however, instead of falling, I felt someone's chest touching my back.
“Ms., are you fine?” A soft voice hit my eardrum.
I turned and found a man who seemed to be in his twenties standing in brown trousers and a white t-shirt along with a brown blazer and a mask over his face. His half face was covered with his bluish hair but I could see a red glass around his eyes. His blue eyes were filled with anger.
“Are they troubling you?” He asked as I stared at him with tears in my eyes. Also, I was getting embarrassed because I smelt like booze.
“Who are you, dude? It seems you are new here, so you don't know Daniel and me,” Maze stood, holding my hand and trying to pull me towards her.
“I am Alvis Nicholas. I came with a friend but seeing something interesting going on here, I can't stop myself from coming here,” Alvis held my hand and pulled me towards himself glaring at Maze.
“Hey, whoever,” Maze.
“Ms., you didn't say, are they troubling you?” Alvis asked, ignoring Maze.
“Yes,” I muttered, without thinking about the later consequences.
“Aurora,” Maze enlarged her eyes.
“Ms., go before I lose my control, else I might pour every drop of tequila and other beverages over your not so pretty face,” Alvis said as he took me with him.
“Thanks,” I muttered.
“It is okay,” he muttered softly.
We moved towards the swimming pool where he made me seated and handed his blazer to me saying, “Your sleeve is torn.”
I bit my inner cheek and wore it saying, “Did Macey send you?”
“Who is she? Another bully?” He arched his brows.
I negatively shook my head and bowed my head. For some time, neither of us spoke anything. He was standing at some distance while I was looking at my reflection in the water.
“You should sit,” I muttered, feeling embarrassed.
“It is okay, don't be humiliated. It happens, by the way, you didn't tell your name,” Alvis asked, sitting beside me.
“Aurora Carter but my friends call Aura. You saved me, so you can also call me Aura only if you don't mind,” I said with a smile, extending my hands towards him.
I don't even know why I did this. Generally, I don't get comfortable with strangers but I guess he saved me, so I extended my hands towards him.
“Aura, nice name. And you know Aura, you are the first person who asked me to become your friend and on the other hand, he would never let me go out and live my life,” Alvis said, shaking his hand with me.
“Who? Your family?”
“I don't have any family either,” Alvis said.
“Oh! Sorry,” I said, not understanding how I should react.
Alvis’s eyes twinkled but soon his eyes got pale, his hands trembled, and his pupils dilated. His breath became uneven.
“I am sorry but I have to go. Thank you for becoming my friend and yes, you are looking beautiful even in this old gown but you should fight your fight rather than waiting for someone otherwise you would end up like him,” he said, leaving from there.
“Useless and fake.”
“Alvis, what happened?” I said, running behind him but he disappeared in thin air.
To be continued.
