After the strange day he’d experienced Martin found he was unable to sleep again. He rolled over and watched Abby, who was breathing quietly, obviously secure and at peace within her familiar world. He was struck by a twinge of envy. His world was changing beyond anything he could have imagined. For him there was nowhere to hide from the disconcerting extended reality that had drawn him in. Although he was a little apprehensive, he found he was also glad. Maybe one day he"d have the measure of those tricky villains in Pen Crags.
