Didoka
The Main Island
Present day...
I chuckled when Kotani rolled his eyes, hearing the long list of honorifics he would be now known as and that would follow him for the rest of our lives. Lord Protector of the Yellow Islands, King of the Aracious Sea, Father of the Nine Islands of the Ancient World...the list would go on and on for another hour or so. The crowning ceremony had gone well considering it took an entire morning for our High Priest to finish the commencement ceremony and crown Kotani. He had foregone the crown used by our father and had decided on not using any crown at all. Honestly, I hadn’t been able to imagine my brother ever wearing a crown. He was beyond the symbols of power and lavish traditions, opting for a more simple approach and ignoring the numerous complaints of his advisors and generals.
“A King doesn’t need to wear a crown,” he had growled back at them on our last meeting, getting on his feet and staring them down, “A king is the f*****g crown, that difference is what divide us from clowns. If anyone brings up the subject of me wearing a crown ever again I’m cutting the offender down and eating it by pieces. Is that clear?”
Nobody dared to mention the word crown around Kotani anymore. It was now a taboo to mention the hated object at court. Which meant that things were evolving, that new blood was being pumped into an archaic system. I couldn’t be happier that things were changing in the Yellow Islands. There was still much room for improvement, but Kotani would bring us to a new era. A much needed new era.
It was now late. The sun had already hidden itself in the horizon and the festivities would start soon. The moment the music started I had decided to leave the Royal Hall and start my long, self imposed period of confinement. I’d already picked all the new books that had reached the Main Island, ordered some food and organized a new nest. It would be the perfect environment to pass my upcoming Heat alone. Far away from intoxicating Alpha’s scents, far away from the poisonous court that I hated so much and far away from all of my research. Just me, easy books and rest.
Or my own version of rest anyway. My Heat would arrive at any time now and since I hadn’t experienced one in an entire day that meant I was set for two long days of pain. My Heats always balanced themselves. I either had them daily or they would skip a day or two, only to return twice stronger than before. It won’t be fun, but that was the price I had to pay for what I’ve done. It was fair I guessed and there was some poetic justice in it all.
I tried to muffle a yawn when the long list of honorifics enumerated another overly ridiculous name for the King of the Yellow Islands. If this list kept going on I would be starting my rest right there, in a corner of the Royal Hall and surrounded by all the court members. Finally, hours after the sunset had passed the ceremony was over and the High Priest appointed my brother the official new king of the Yellow Islands. Music started and people moved as if to start dancing. The celebrations had begun, which meant I could now disappear discreetly and no one would realize my absence.
It was right when I was turning around to head to my chambers when I caught the strong scent of an Alpha that I knew too well. I was unprepared for it. For a horrible moment of confusion I made the mistake of following my instinct and sniffing it. Musk, strong, familiar, warm...Kun...I couldn’t fight my most baser urges when I recognized his scent. I gasped, hungry for air and my legs seemed to sag with the understanding of my situation. Kun’s scent had triggered my Heat and I was in too much pain to leave the room fast enough to hide in my chambers.
That was the exact moment when I saw him, entering the Royal Hall and causing with his presence a shocked wave of whispers among the court members. I had the instinctual need to touch myself between my legs, to relieve some of the pain but the thrilling experience of seeing Kun again had me frozen, staring after him while he made his way easily through the court. He looked even taller than what I remembered, with a body covered by tight muscles that were tense and set for battle. Grey eyes like slate focused on me across the room. My heart skipped a beat when those eyes darted to my lips and from them they moved down, covering me in a predatory look that left me with no doubts that my time was over.
I got you under my thumb. That’s what his eyes were saying when he passed by my side and kept on walking, zeroing his stare in Kotani. The women by my side were fanning themselves after he had passed and I couldn’t blame them. Kun looked even stronger than before, apparently using this last year to exercise until there wasn’t an inch of his body covered in muscles. And he had done something to his hair...it was shorter and I still didn’t know if I liked it more like that or longer, as it had been before.
Kun stopped close to the throne but not close enough that could be considered a threat. He didn’t bow for the new king, neither addressed him with all the honorifics that diplomacy warranted. Kun only looked my brother in the eyes and nodded.
“Time is up,” he said simply, as if that was enough explanation for his grand entrance, or the fact he had interrupted a royal ceremony and broken about a thousand of rules by setting foot in the Yellow Islands without following the right protocol.
General Oxa and Aldudala tried to intervene and arrest Kun as they should but Kotani stopped them, raising a hand while his yellow eyes studied Kun with rapt attention. The court was whispering so loudly that I couldn’t hear too well what they were saying all the way at the front of the hall. It really didn’t seem like they were talking, but they were measuring each other, studying themselves like opponents across a battlefield.
It was then when the first cramps of my Heat doubled me over and I started panting slowly, resting a hand over the nearest wall and trying to breath surreptitiously through my mouth. Every inhalation was a greedy excuse to push Kun’s scent inside of me. I wanted-no- I needed him inside of me. I could even taste him in my tongue and it was the tastiest scent of an Alpha. Earthy, musk, spicy...I gasped and covered my mouth with a hand, trying not to smell him and focus on getting away from there. It was of no use, his slate eyes narrowed and he sniffed the air, his eyes turned mean even if he was grinning at me… because he knew, he just knew he had won. I was about to enter my Heat and he had sniffed it already, even when no other Alpha had scented it yet.
“Actually,” said Kun, his grin opening in a wolfish smirk. He turned around, coming for me and waving a hand goodbye to my brother, “Let’s fight some other time. I have unfinished business with your little sister, as you might recall.”
“Do you want me to declare war on the Dark Desert over this, prince of Maccana?” roared Kotani, getting on his feet so fast that the throne fell, making a loud crash sound that managed to turn the entire court silent. Kun stopped, his head moved slightly to the right when he followed me with his eyes, watching me grimace and contour through another wave of cramping. Nobody else was watching me thankfully, all eyes were on Kun’s and Kotani’s interaction.
“Do I need to remind you that your kingdom is made of a couple islands surrounded by water, King Alkotanila?”asked Kun, watching my brother clench his jaw with a degrading smile that had even me hating him for his rude behavior and his even meaner insinuations. Kun shrugged and returned his march to me, “We will talk again soon. I will be taking your sister now.”
“Don't you dare…” Kotani didn’t finish his words. Kun turned back and roared angrily at him, a clear threat to stay in line or else. Kotani’s eyes came in and out of focus, the Boosaardig slowly climbing his way back to control. I needed to do something or things would escalate quickly. I couldn’t have a God and a Boosaardig fighting today, in the most public event of the year. There were diplomats from every other country of the world in attendance. If I didn’t make a decision now there would be terrible consequences to pay for our kingdom and that of the Dark Desert.
I moved slowly and took Kun’s hand. The sound of our hands clapping together seemed to resonate in the quiet room with a prolonged echo. Kun lowered his eyes, searching for my surrender. He had been counting on that. On the fact that I would debase myself to save my brother and my country from going into chaos. As I’d expected Kun had struck when I couldn’t do anything else but to accept the conditions of his terms. It was either going with him or letting my brother fight for my honor, but if I allowed that, people would see that my brother wasn’t just pure blood and flesh. That there was something more underneath his skin, something evil. Kotani would let the Boosaardig out if that meant he could protect me and I couldn’t let that happen. Kun had attacked only when he knew he could win and had used my weaknesses against me like the master strategist that he was.
Kun laughed softly then, a hoarse, cruel sound that was victorious, undefeated.
“Good choice, my little Omega,” he said, pushing my body flush against his and then lifting me up easily, covering my middle with an arm that was thick like a wall. Just when I thought that I couldn’t breath under his strong hold, Kun released me a little and started walking out of the room with me in his arms.
“Guards!” yelled Kotani with a voice that sounded limitless, angered with the fury of two worlds and centuries of existence. He was about to order something else when I raised a hand and shook my head at him. The meaning was clear. Don’t do this. For a moment he seemed ready to go against my wishes but I shook my head again, this time making him stop and take a step back in defeat. There was nothing for us to do. Too much was at stake, too many people were looking, too many ears listening. We needed to let this happen. Kun had won.
The God walked us out of the silent room and the moment we were away from it all, he pushed my head to the crook of his neck, smoothing my nose against his skin and making me moan with wanting at the exquisite scent of his Alpha scent. My hips started jerking out of control, slick forming on my s*x.
“Just let it happen,” he growled and I mewled, nodding my head desperately.
It was then that we disappeared from the Yellow Islands. One moment we were walking and turned into a back alley. The next moment we were gone. Not even the most skilled trackers could understand what kind of tactic Prince Kun had used to vanish, taking with him the only Omega from the Yellow Islands.
