The Rise of The Gods: The Rapture

Moving Day

    That was one the hardest things Aries had ever done, resist the mate bond. When he barged in that bedroom and saw her like that, to not give in to the urge took more restraint and patience than waiting the right time for the enemy, just the right time to strike and win. He liked this challenge more, her being a human was a challenge, but now the anity was upped. She was more much more from what he understood. And not one to just prey upon, it had been just a week and this woman had been through hell and back literally, her list was growing, and Aries knew forcing her into all the change wouldn't do, not to mention he got the notion she was stubborn especially when she was right which seemed to be most of the time. According the Eli and the exploring he had done of her house, she ruled this roost with an iron fist made of sugar and common sense. Her life as human was not ordinary, she had a husband, who actually seemed like a really guy and worshipped the ground she walked on, she was his world, he could tell by the pictures in the big album he found, it was her whole life, the husband, the kids, all the dogs. She had built a family, a home, she built it on love, tears, blood,sweat, more love and sheer tenacity. She never gave up once. He read a few of the notebooks that were family correspondence as they weren't together all the time. She started every chain and ended every chain in this house. This family had gone through some stuff and she got them through it. She was everything here. And all three of them noted how damn comfy they were, this house was a home and no matter who you were you felt at ease here. You were always fed for sure she had more food in various forms than he had imagined that if you went hungry in this house you were an i***t and it was your own fault, and judging by the various signs made into home decor she had  on every wall, she thought so too. They all were kind but reminders on how to be decent and love and treat a home and others. It made him fall head over heels in love with her, he had the suspicion a large part of that wasn't because of the mate bond, it wad why Eli held her in such standing. He got it now Eli saw her and loved her not the way her husband did but the same reasons were there, if you didn't like her you were a piece of s**t and she probaly knew it and didn't care. 

    So Aries did his best and sat down to just watch, he couldn't leave. When she stared him down he actually got worried, the lycan and elf in her would take over and she would attack, she had quite a stare. He felt like he won a mini war when she agreed to a hug, which he hoped he didn't overdue. He noticed her scent hadn't changed, she had it as a human. One thing he thought was peculiar. It was the same just added too, a snowy nountain pines,  old wise things like a library, mixed with vanilla, earth, sunshine, rain and a fireplace with a clean house and a good meal in the back ground. She smelled like everything good and everything it took to get it. Her scent perplexed him, but he loved it, he could breathe it forever, no wonder her husband loved her. He decided her scent was who she was in smell form.     

    When she pulled back from the hug. he left his hands on her hips and she left hers on his shoulders. She had his eyes with hers, he couldn't read her expression. She just held him looking into his eyes, for a really long moment, and then said, " Everything has changed, all the anwers aren't here yet, some may never be. I can handle anything as long as it comes with the truth. I don't know what we are. Will you give me your word to always be honest with me? Don't keep me in the dark ever?" Her request floored him, she was willing to face anything as long as who she was around was honest? That kind of blind bond was found in soldiers. Yet it was before him right now. He took to long to answer and she was about to look away, he squeezed her hips and relpied, "I do. lets go get you filled in, you have alot to learn." She nodded and turned and walked out of the room with him close behind. He was so proud of her and didn't know why. 

    Eli, Hades and Hermes were in the kitchen, they had a spread of food strung out. Aries cleared his throat, and introduced her to Hermes, she smiled and shook his hand. Hades though when she shook his, she froze and put her other hand on top of theirs. The second she touched him, her week a death came back in a tsunami. Aries went to grab her and Hermes stopped him. "She is remebering, Hades triggered it." he whispered. For several minutes she held him fast like that. Hades knew, one of his traits as a God, no one could lie about their soul. She then abruptly dropped him hand and said, " Well, the flip side. Son of a b***h I need a beer. Anyone else?" and went for the fridge. They didn't answer so she pulled out five handed them out and ordered them to follow her to the back patio, she lite a fire and then said "No one's going anywhere, let's talk." And talk they did, she asked many questions about all her memories and of them. The subject lightened here and there as it seemed they were taking a much needed break from the world at hand. They talked and drank well past sunrise and one by one they drifted off to sleep. 

    It was late afternoon when Felina woke, the other four were asleep. She began cleaning up on her way to the coffee pot. She tidied the kitchen and moved about the house as she usually did. Her routine came to an abrupt halt when she opened her daughter's door to put some clothes in. It all hit her and hard. She slammed the door and poured a cup coffee and tried to drink it through tears. She didn't want to be anywhre here it hurt too bad. She was an aweful, mom and wife, she left them in a hole and got drunk after she dies and came back a monster. THey were gone and this house never felt so empty and her life she was so happy in seemed like someone else's Her tears were falling hard when Aries found her, "Don't hug me ," she said, "it'll get worse. I can't stay here, I just can't. Do have somewhere I can be?" "Oh, I'm not going to ask if you're okay, I can figure something out can you hang in there about 2 days?" he asked. She nodded, "You promise? Something, anything, just not here." he felt his heart break a little, this was just a bit of what Hades said about her being f****d. "Yes, I do, and I have more to tell you, but just I have to get somethings straightened out before we get you out of here, two days, I promise." she wiped her face and sighed, "I'm sorry it all just hit and it's alot, I'll get through it, I will. and thank you... so much."  He stepped toward her wanting to hug her and settled for reaching out and squeezing her hand, which she squeezed back. And with that he looked at Hades, Hermes and Eli over her shoulder and left.

    She had noticed the other three also, and did what she always did to avoid her emotions, and said, "who's hungry?" And made breakfast. They talked about what and where they all might be in two days and what needed done here. And that was how it went, they ate and worked and joked and laughed and had serious conversations. Getting ready to go somewhat sepaerate ways. She asked questions here and there about who Aries really was and what his life was like. All she deduced was he was a favorite brother but he was a difficult ass but a pretty guy. Felina was surprised when Aries called her with all the arrangements. Eli would go where he always was in the pack house and Felina too. Hermes could stay on Mt.Olympus or be at the pack house or on the territory his pick he had a spot where ever. And Hades of course would go back to the underworld and be sure to visit often. There would be someone to pick them up at three that afternoon. At three the big suv rolled up and felina hugged Hades and made one last round of her house and her life that once was. She said the hardest goodbye and shoved all deep inside never to hopefully be touched again. She took one last look as the suv pulled away and stared straight ahead, that was all she could do accept that was over and what was ahead was before her. She watched the trees pass in a blur as they headed for the dark cloud deep in the trees.
