Aries had been driving through his recent purchase. Surveying whether the bankrupt company he bought was worth it. Strategy never left him. He had amassed billions of dollars at this point, that it should not matter what he spent it on ,but he couldn't help it. This was so close it would pay for itself in no time with what he thought was to come. The rumbles of the earth recently told him his long wait to serve his purpose was a breathe away. It was certainly that close. As the sky light up without warning and the ground became a dirt version of the sea.
Aries was not one to panic, s**t like this was the very essence of his existence. The ground rose up and heaved his pickup along for a ride. What caught him was a big machine was on the crest of the wave of earth bearing down on him. The woman inside it had his full attention. She barely could been around the seat, the world was crumbling and her calm green eyes locked onto him as they both rode the wave of unnatural devestation. In a position as this, Aries would have been on point. However, this green eyed small human had his senses. The way she looked at him as if he needed her to help him through whatever was tearing the world at the moment. How bold he thought, she would know no better, she would not who he was. She was just just a sweet soul grasping onto the closest living thing in time of terror as he had seen so many countless times before. But, yet, her fierce eyes held him with a strength to match his. He felt something come alive as he had not ever felt before. He was dumb and numb to this confusion that weaken him, that he did not see the massive mangled hunk of twisted metal debris hit his pickup. All went black.
The waves stopped. Felina rode the last of momentum on top of the pickup she had landed on. She had locked eyes with him and thought she saw a smirk a small smile on his hard features. The sun now shone as if nothing had ever happened. All was calm and quiet. She did not know what compelled her to kick her way out of the glass and go to the man in the pickup. Her husband and girls were so far on the back of her mind. It should not be like this, she had to though, for some reason for later, she had to get to this man and see if he was okay.
Aries was awoke by an insistence touch shaking his shoulder. The shaking was a bit rough given she was the size of child . The sun shone bright around her form and light up her face in such a way he wanted to freeze the moment to keep her beauty. He wanted to keep his eyes closed so she would keep shaking him. Her touch was like a warm electric current. She moving her mouth and looking at him, his ears were ringing so he couldn't hear her voice and he wanted to. She turned away, "Eli, he over here, I think for the most part okay, just coming to." Eli his beta, soon popped into view to a quick look at and and said with a grin, "Hey, Alpha you okay down there? Wipe that weird look on your face off and get out your pickup is toast." He shook his head, suddenly bit confused by he reaction to the woman and his very slow recovery time. Took at stock of his position hoisted himself up and kicked the windshield out and stepped out.
He stood by Eli looking around. Eli broke his thoughts, "It's different now, do you feel it and see it. like the old world somehow collided with this one." He just looked at Eli, "Where did she go?" "Who?" Eli asked. Aries was a grouch and not known for patience, "That woman who woke me up, don't be stupid, where did she go?" he spat. Most people would have cowered away, Eli only c****d his head and narrowed his eyes as a smirk began forming, "Oh, Felina, she went that way, I sent her to see who else she could find and be at the office in a half an hour. Why, boss you got a crush? OOOO Aries like Felina!" he almost sang in a very annoying voice. Aries rolled his eyes and took off towards the office, with Eli close behind snickering.
True to her nature, Felina was in the office thirty minutes later, she had found Roy and Pete. She was telling Eli the long list of things and people that didn't make it or they didn't find yet. Whatever just happened had taken down cell service, no one's phones were working. Felina was fighting panic that was building in her chest, she wanted to find her husband and daughters, if they weren't here they were close, they had to have made it to town at least. SHe fought back some tears and asked Eli, "May I borrow a company pickup? My car is totaled I need to go find my family." "You can use anything of mine." a voice behind them said. It made her jump a little ans they all turned. Aries was leaning in doorway, filling it up. He was just staring at Felina, she fidgeted under his gaze she couldn't read. "oh, guys this is Arien Black, your new owner and big boss." Eli said. Eli, told everyone to head home and do what they needed to do. He would track them down when things were sorted out and gave Arien's address if they needed anything in the meantime, they were to go there and only ask. Everyone filled out leaving Eli, and Aries still staring at Felina. He was really making her uncomfortable, she cleared her throat and said, "I'm Felina, your loader hand, it's good to meet you. About that vehicle, I would like to get going I am just a bit worried. I'm sorry to be a bit abrupt but well you know, What happened anyway?" Eli, grinned at her as he watched Aries reaction, he had really fought hard to keep her on when Aries bought this place, and that was one of the reasons why, she was a cool chick really, very hard working, ans she got it ,she knew what needed done and kept everyone going, she could be straight blunt almost rude but in a very sweet way. She could chew an ass and the person not realize it. And he was suspecting she was Aries mate, he wasn't supposed to get one, he would ask later.
Aries, was taken aback by her boldness, she didn't know who he really was, but given what she did know, that was a bold way to speak him. He liked it. "This way," he said, "The old building in the upper yard is where I keep my extra personal vehicles." She nodded and headed for the door through the front office. Eli gave Aries a huge smirk and nudged his ribs as they followed her.
It was about a half a mile walk and rough going. Felina had stopped outside an couldn't help but gawk around what she could see of town was obliterated, nothing was recognizable. And even the air felt different, the sun looked different, she couldn't pinpoint exactly what was so strange now. She didn't like it one bit as her gut feeling was screaming at her something really really bad had just changed the world. She heard Aries and Eli, behind her and quickly started moving again, she didn't want to have to look at Arien if she didn't have to, she would think on whatever he was about later. She was mostly crawling and picking her way up a huge mound of earth and debris when she got to the top it revealed a giant hole in the ground where the road should have been. All three of them were scanning around to find a path to the otherside. When Felina gasped, and began crashing down into the hole, she was yelling "no, no, no Babe, girls!" Aries spotted was she going after first, a mangled pickup s**t, her family. He and Eli exchanged a look and quickly followed her. She was crying and almost hyperventilating at this point, frantically shaking them and checking their pulses and trying to get access to the pickup. They were gone. She had sunk down and was hugging her knees, crying, and mumbling through her sobs.
In the almost 1500 uears Aries had been alive, and being The God of War he had a natural callous to mouring of loved ones. He, himself had killed husbands in front of their wives and children and never once did a single tear make him feel a thing. But seeing her sobbing and he could almost feel her heart breaking, he could FEEL her sadness and pain. It was aweful, and worse he never felt anything like this before. He just stood there in pararlyzed confusion, he truly did not know what these feelings were or what to do for her or himself about it. Eli, nudged him and gestured his hands toward her and Aries just shrugged. ELi gave him a real strange look. He shook his head and scowled at him bumped his shoulder hard as he brushed past him and crouched down by her and began rubbing her back and pulling her into a hug. She buried her face in his chest and hand a handful of his shirt and cried harder. And for another strange reason, he was instantly so pissed at Eli, he didn't like the way he touched her at all, he wanted to rip Eli to pieces. And still he couldn't move or react at all, He stayed and watched Eli look at him so strange over head. What in Hades Hell was going on with him? Aries sorted through these new found feelings and thoughts. Eli had her up on her feet now, and was mouthing something at him he c****d his head and snapped out of his stupor when he realized Eli, was telling him to take her. Eli gently guided her into his chest and he wrapped his arms around her. Instantly having her touching him sent a buzz through him and all his anger and confusion and new feelings didn't matter, this made it all go away. This small woman he had against his chest felt so good, so right like she was made to fit him. He could feel her tears soaking through his shirt, he put his chin on top of head and signed, her hurt was easing now, he could feel it, was he the reason she was feeling better? He hoped so. Her breathing was beginning to even out and he kissed the top of head, and dared to look down at her. He wished he hadn't, he almost couldn't bear the pain in her eyes, never again did he want her to ever cry. She was too beautiful for it. She was looking up at him, and he noticed confusion in her eyes as well. He put his hand on her head and gently pressed her back to chest. Just a few more minutes, he didn't want to let her go yet, she was helping ease the feeling that creeping through his skin. His God form was itching, that could only mean one thing The other Gods were free. That was an explanation of what happened.
Felina, felt Arien press her head back to his chest. She had really lost her s**t, she was so hurt and so confused. What had happened, and why why did she have to loose her family? And why the second Arien touched her did she feel instantly better? Being in his arms made her feel as if everything that just happened went away, he was so warm and solid and she hurt so bad she just wanted to stay there and maybe just die of grief peacefully in this guys arms. No of that or what happened made a damn bit of sense. So much was rolling through her mind and her heart she had not a clue where to begin to put herself back together. She began shoving it all deep down inside, that was what she did when she didn't have answers or had feelings she didn't understand, she shoved them somewhere deep and ignored them. There was nothing else she could do now besides accept that some terrible event had changed the world and killed her family and there was nothing she could do about it. It was what it was. She inhaled a long deep breath and ignored how pleasant Arien smelled. She let it out slowly. And felt Arien doing the same. He cupped her cheek and tilted her face to look at him. The second they locked eyes a ripple like a shock wave ripped through the air. All three of them felt the intense change that followed the ripple and all three just knew it was time to go.
Arien gave Felina a small smile, it felt foreign on his face, he really couldn't remember that last time he had smiled. She stepped back out of his arms, she looked over his shoulder and said, "Look, cloudy, where I live is looking like a bad storm is brewing." Both men had turned and she was now standing between them. They shared a very uneasy look Felina noticed. Arien said, "That's not a storm, and We need to go. I really have to blend in now." A realization dawned on Felina that there was so much more going to this that these two knew about and she didn't. They both started walking and she hesitated, she didn't know if they meant just them or her too. Arien stopped and turned around came toward her and grabbed her hand and that was her answer she was going too. They were moving fast and she was so much shorter than them that he was mostly dragging her alongside him. They shared a look again, in a swift movement Aries scooped her up and they began running, and fast. Felina noticed, they were stronger and faster than the average man. They were at the building in no time. He set her down and punched a code into pad, the big door rolled up, revealing the building full of very nice, very new and very expensive vehicles of every kind, even crotch rockets and a vintage rolls royce.
"Pick something that makes me look normal and doesn't draw attention." Aries ordered to Felina. Her mouth fell open in surprise and she blinked at him. "Like a normal what, Bill Gates drug lord? Everything in here screams I'm a billionaire maybe I have two or three billion and I get my money the shady way and I like to show it off!" She scoffed. Eli laughed hard, another reason he liked her, she spoke her mind and she was funny. Aries squeezed his eyes shut, she was almost irritating the way she stated to obvious, and a bit obstinate, he was used to being listened to without any comments. "Just pick one, Please" he added the please because he didn't know why, he never said please to anyone. She quickly scanned the inventory and settled on a brand new charcoal grey GMC 4 door pickup that looked to be stock from factory. "That one" she pointed, "I guess you would like a guy that just bought a new pickup, best I can do, you don't have much to work with here." Aries reached in a box on the wall and grabbed a fob and tossed it Eli. Eli got in the drivers seat and Felina was about to open the back door when Aries reached around her and opened it for her with one hand on the small of her back and the other just below her butt he guided her in the back seat. He got in next to her wrapped his arm around her and squeezed her tight against his side. He nodded at Eli who grinning at him like an i***t as they pulled out and at breakneck speeds began swerving through the mess of what used be town on their way to Cloudy.
It was slower going than he liked, he had to get to olympus, it wasn't a storm it was The Gods retuning to olympus. His God form was getting hard control and his wolf side was rearing to get out. Hanging onto Felina made it easier, like it grounded him. Him hanging onto Felina made her a bit uncomfortable, she tried to scoot away and found it was like trying to move a rock, his hold wasn't budging. He looked down at her when she moved, and said "Please just sit. I am having a bit of trouble and you're helping. I need you to promise me something?" She narrowed her eyes and nodded. SHe wanted to ask what it was first but his gaze was so intense and she couldn't tell what the many things were that had his eyes flashing and her gut was telling her just go with it. "It's very important to me that you are always safe. Promise me you will do what I ask without hesitation if I feel you aren't, I can't ever be distracted by you." He said it coldly almost like a threat. Felina didn't like it all he was scaring her she felt she no choice, "I will." she said and looked straight forward. "Good" he said, inwardly he was kicking himself, he didn't want it to sound like that and he could tell he scared her, he had come to realize Luna a given him a mate he wasn't supposed to ever get and for some reason she gave him a human, a human that didn't know a thing about what the world really had been or what it was going be now, a human so defenseless against anything. Humans were easy to protect, they less they knew the safer they were. In the centuries after the fall of the Gods he watched humans believe legends and myths and false history so easily, they never knew the truth and were fine to create themselves a world they lived in so far from the truth it was almost amazing how a human could take a weakness and turn into a strength and protect themselves. He couldn't leave her in the dark to the truth if she was his mate, she need to know everything and she would be huge a liability to him. Luna sure complicated things for him by doing this, this was worse than when he knew he would be alone forever and never have one. Then there was always Zeus, that worried him too.
Felina was lost in her own thoughts. She was overwhelmed and so confused and everything swam in her head and heart. She didn't even try and sort through it she just stared ahead and sat there numb. She barely noticed all the things she saw, it was like her brain couldn't hold anymore. She just sat, still and quiet and rigid. She didn't hear Arien the first time he asked her where she lived. He squeezed her and she snapped out of it. They were on the steep hill just below Cloudy. She said, "At the end of the main road the last place the brown house at the dead end." They were in her driveway in a few minutes, they both came inside with her. She just stood in her kitchen. Arien seemed ancy. She finally said, " I will be fine here, I won't go anywhere." Aries seemed to look at her with scrutiny, he knew she just lost her family and being home might hurt but he didn't know where else to take her, he couldn't take her to his home now, he also didn't like having her here it was so hard to keep her safe. "You're sure you're okay?" he asked. She met his eyes with determination, and nodded. He almost smiled, he had to hand it to her, she was tough, and he knew she wasn't stupid he could tell she had been deeply thinking on everything. A rare human indeed. He handed her what looked like a makeup compact mirror along with a business card. " If phones ever work again, that is my number and my home address. I live up here also, close in fact. This," he took the mirror back and opened it, " is how to get ahold me in the meantime, just open it and say Aries. It works kinda like video chat with a smart phone. It's magic and it will draw unwanted attention you, especially now, so keep it in this bag and keep on you at all times, water won't hurt it so even when you shower. And please only use it if you have an emergency. You are going to start to see things and creatures that are strange to you. Don't panic, don't talk to anybody, don't let anybody or anything in the house and stay inside. I will be back as soon as I can, and in few hours I will send Eli over, he will stay here with you until I get things sorted out. I promise I will explain everything very soon." All she said was "okay, will do" She walked them to the door and locked it behind them. Eli had pulled every curtain and locked every door and window. She was grateful for it as she threw herself in the recliner and proceeded to just block everything out.
