On the eastern side of Valor City, a battered white van tore through the streets at reckless speed, its engine screaming in protest as it weaved between lanes. The driver slammed the accelerator down to the floor, eyes bloodshot, knuckles white around the steering wheel. The vehicle swayed violently, tires shrieking every time it took a corner too fast.
For a brief moment, it looked like they might actually get away.
Then the sky roared.
A piercing thunder rolled overhead, sharp enough to rattle windows and set off car alarms along the road. Two helicopters burst through the cloud cover, descending rapidly like steel predators. In a matter of seconds, they surged past the van, banking sharply before hovering midair directly in its path, rotors chopping the air into deafening chaos.
