EPISODE 2~~~ Broken Hopes.

~KYREN There would never be an us. The little hope I had last night shattered into millions of pieces as they had already dispersed into the wind leaving no traces behind as I gawked at my best friend who was preparing to go on a date. I have no idea why I was feeling empty at the moment because this wasn't her first rodeo. Over the past year, I've grown to know a part of her that she was insatiable and have taught myself on how to be stronger in times like these. But why wasn't it working now. My eyes were stinging from burning tears which were fighting to fall as she ranted on and on about her date with this sexy man which of course I didn't pay attention to. "Earth to the Ren, a penny for your thoughts?" Eva asked, all focused on her reflection in the mirror, applying some makeup to her already flawless face. I do tell her most times that she doesn't need it but she tells me she does, to give her that look. Whatever she meant by that cause I'll never grasp the concept of women language. "I might think you're having a crush on me if you continue to give me that look." She grinned while applying some lipgloss to her lips. "What look?" I asked with a chuckle, throwing the nearest object which was a charging cord to her before proceeding to her. I stopped behind her as I helped her with the zip of her wine dress which had a deep sweetheart neckline showing an understandable amount of her cleavage. The dress flowed down to her feet gracefully, a high slit at the left side showing her slim pale legs. The dress hugged her figure in the right places, her confidence and aura, impalpable. My index finger slightly brushed behind her naked back which made me feel things, warm sensation running through every vein in my body. "A look that says Yes! I'm sooo in love with my best friend." She snickered afterwards putting on a golden butterfly earrings as I stared at her reflection in the mirror. She was an epitome of beauty. "Chicken." I muttered with an eye roll, walking back to sit on her queen sized bed. "When would you be back?" I inquired, fidgeting with my fingers just to keep myself busy. "Missing me already? No?" She teased while spraying her vanilla flavored body spray. God, she smells like heaven. Deciding to go with the flow, I replied; "Yes, I'm missing your worthy presence as it is oh great empress." I said with fake enthusiasm giving a mock bow afterwards. She laughed softly. "Rubbing my ego much? Cause I'll rather have you rub something else." She looked at the region in between her legs before meeting my gaze which holds nothing. If she had said this to me a year ago I would have been twinning with the stop signs at the bus-stops, choking on passing air. But I was used to her innuendos because Eva was just born and bred like that which at first made it hard for me because of her sense of humor. I couldn't tell if she meant every word or she was just jesting. Took me long enough to know that mostly everything that comes out from her mouth were pure jokes. She might look like Aurelia but their personality, demeanor and sense of reasoning were totally different. Whereas Aurelia was Calm, Collected, Artistic, Cute and shy. Eva was Outgoing, Humorous, Funny, Cute and a little bit of trouble but I loved her nonetheless. "I'm piqued. I could drown in it too." I flirtatiously offered returning her wicked grin. "Intrude it with your fingers, maybe?" She c****d an eyebrow in amusement. "Might give you something better than my fingers if you behave." I added as I stared at my groin before meeting her gaze. "Maybe, I could ride on that 'something better' you're talking about." The thought of Eva doing those unholy things with me was making me unbearably hard. The fact that it won't also be me ripping off that gorgeous gown off her body was hurting. "You don't want to be late, you should leave." I dismissed, my words coming out harsher than it ought to. "But it's my house." She argued as I hushed her out of her house, tossing her bag towards her. I closed the doors behind her with a defeating sigh leaving the space in between my lips. I went back into her room and slumped on her bed, my mind wandering to everywhere and nowhere at the same time. After Lazying around her house for what felt like forever, waiting for her return. I got tired and decided it was time to head to mine. Fucking Saturdays. ~~~~~~~ "Daddy's home!" I hollered closing the door behind me. I walked over to the sitting room but halted my steps as my body collided with the hard floor, the bag I had brought with me fell from my hands as a mammoth sized figure hovered across my chest and later laid on my torso. "M-Muffin, I can't b-breathe." I complained, my breaths coming out short. Muffin was my year old Great Dane who stood at the height of thirty-two inches and weighs sixty kilograms. I got him when I felt so lonely and needed a companion. He has been the best to me and I love him to bits and pieces. He was named by Eva who felt that the Great Dane, a huge and intimidating dog deserves to be called Muffin. At first I was perplexed as to why he should be named Muffin but later got to love the name which I think Muffin likes too cause he gets giddy whenever I call him. "Oh! bad boy, bad boy." I tsk disapproving as he continued to lick my face. "You're so big and heavy." I whined and panted with Muffin's spit coating my entire face as he whined happily. "Now I smell like you but I missed you too baby." I cooed rubbing on his side ticklishly. "How was last night without Daddy?" I asked, sitting with my legs crisscrossed on the hard wood floor, Muffin's head on my thighs as I rubbed on his head adorably. "Whoof!" he barked sadly. "My night was s**t too. I'm sorry I left you for an impromptu sleepover." I spoke in a childlike's voice. "Eva left daddy to go on a date with Sexy man. Ew." I sadly spoke with a grimace as I remembered the look of eagerness Eva's face held. She looked excited. Muffin whimpered sadly like he could understand my discomfort and feel my saddened heart. "It's only you and I against this world." I sighed unhappily staring at Muffin whose heads was c****d to the side adorably, a warm smile creeping unto my face. "But guess what?!" I beamed standing up from the floor, Muffin following after as I walked over to the bag I brought home with me, dipping my hands in it as I smiled warmly at Muffin who was wagging his tail enthusiastically, his tongue was outside with his eyes full of glee. "I bought!....." I happily said, pulling out my hands slowly from the bag with Muffin's eyes focused on the bag on my hand. "a new friend to your collection!" I squealed bringing out a big squishy purple octopus. The first thing I noticed was Muffins tail as it had stopped wagging. The disappointment was evident in his eyes as he stared at me baffled, whining in protest as he looked at the purple octopus in my hand before he stared at me. All merriment long gone from his eyes. "You d-don't like i-it?" I pouted, my body falling limp to the floor as I sulked. "I-I thought you were gonna be h-happy." I stared at Muffin with my lower lips jutted out. Muffin came over to me, rubbing his head against mine, whining adorably as I feigned false anger. "It's okay Muffin, since you don't like the toy daddy bought for you, I'll return it." I sighed dramatically, burying my face in my palms, while sniffling, pretending to be crying. Muffin whined, leaving my presence for a while, I peeped through the gap in between my fingers, only to see him return with the big purple octopus in between his teeth, he dropped it to the floor and licked its face, panting happily as he nudged me on my side. Removing my palms from my face."Muffin, you don't have to pretend to like it. I understand how you feel." I said sadly but was beaming on the inside as I watched the guilt etched to his face cause he doesn't like it when I'm unhappy. Muffin whimpered, circling me while licking my face, coating it with his spit. That came out wrong. "Okay, fine." I smiled wrapping my arms around his large frame, sighing contentedly on his skin. "I love you so much, boy." If he could talk he would have said I had emotionally blackmailed him. But oh well, such is life. A knock on the door brought our attention to the door, cutting our bonding moment short. "Who could it be?" I asked Muffin in a whisper as he gave me a look which says 'Really?" He sniffed in the air, striding behind me as we both headed to the door, his tail started wagging enthusiastically as I already knew who it was. But just incase, I peeped through the peephole, a small smile grazing my face as I turned the door handle open. "Well hello, Mr Jones." The voice greeted.
